I cant be any more satisfied with our purchase. I got the v6 AWD drivetrain for my wife. Ride quality is gloriously magnificent, does not lose to any other luxury brands in this category, feels as if I am riding through clouds instead of hard asphalt road. Inside cabin is simple and yet refined and elegant - I much prefer this over some other makers' cluttered panels. Lastly, I notice many people doing double takes of this car. I am mightily pleased with the design - those on the design team (interior as well as exterior), along with the chassis and drivetrain team definitely nailed this one. I am also looking to purchase gv70 for myself as I prefer smaller vehicle when it comes out.

Yet another well made automotive review Tom. Looks good, but $70,000. I tried to test drive one here in the Atlanta area this past weekend. All three locations are sold out. The owners all bought them sight unseen.

💥 excellent review…was planning on getting the Mercedes GLS suv, but after driving the Genesis GV80 changed to that…..but, tried the “price quote service” (at 13:32) thinking I would get, well, price quotes. Instead, after submitting my contact info received many calls from dealers (2 in other nearby states!), asking me if I was interested in GV80, not to give me any price quote. Not helpful at all.

When I first saw this come out, 1st reaction was "if they offered this as the very first Genesis, then WOW would they be in a different position now." But then again, they may not have had the team or the right production capabilities for this price point. There's ALWAYS a reason.

Seeing the GV80 for the first time in person, I was unimpressed with the stying... too glitzy for my taste. I thought the Aviator looked stunning and had a more stately and elegant presence. I Preferred the Aviators piano shifter over the GV80 dial shifter and also thought the GV80 infotainment screen was too far away from the driver. The GV80 had a few more tech features than the Aviator. Both vehicles had hard plastic and fake metal in places. Behind the wheel
I thought the GV80's performance and cabin were comfortable but nothing special. The Aviator's performance was outstanding and I noticed an immediate difference from the GV80. The Aviator engine was more silent, more powerful and the cabin just felt more serene than the GV80 cabin. I had no complaints about the GV80's performance and level of luxury...until I got behind the wheel of the Aviator.

This will be the product that finally puts Genesis on the maps. Now if they could just get some real dealerships that aren't sharing space with mere Hyundais. Next up is the GV70, which will be a riot to drive with this same turbo V6.

Hyundai is really improving! Their Genesis brand has really impressed me! Their reliability is a bit questionable especially with the new recall but most of those are older cars from when the brand was pretty crappy. I'd probably lease a GV80 or G80 but if I had even more money than I do in my imaginary vault, I'd go ahead and buy it.

One thing you failed to mention about people sticking to established luxury brands... is that a Genesis is in fact MUCH MORE RELIABLE than BMW or Mercedes. I'm a Hyundai owner and these vehicles, imho, are almost as reliable as Toyota nowadays. I've heard nothing but good things about the newer turbo I4 and V6. Plus you get that Hyundai/Kia warranty that they actually stand behind and will take care of you.
