I use the controller to switch inputs. You can toggle through tune presets with it and each tune preset can have it's own input mapping. This does mean that if you tweak the tune, you essentially have to copy the changes to other input preset.
I’m with you. Just feels more like a “work around” than a switching source. I’m going to give this a go and see if it’s liveable considering how often I plug it in for little adjustments. To be fair whenever we do a two-source system, they’re both on different tunes so it may not be that much of a ball ache.
Awesome work as always guy's. You really do build top quality systems and i wish all the best for the future as you deserve so much praise with your workmanship and detail. I just wish we the audience could have heard it sing as we do with your other videos. I'm hoping that one day im in a position to have a system done by studio incar
Looks a great install on the VW. Can change the input on my Audison Forza AF M12.14 bit using DRC-AC…..surprised JL doesn’t offer similar input selection? I use an A&K Kann to feed my Forza (either directly by Toslink or wirelessly via B-Con), but can also switch in Zen optical from the MB head unit (usb stick with high res WAV or Apple CarPlay)on my Vantage. Sounds great!
You can run two different sources with the VXI amps. Because you have 6 profiles in the software. Example I have mine set up with one profile using optical out from my source unit on the red profile and then on my blue profile I am using RCA out from the source unit. I have a video game console set up for my yellow profile so I can play video games sounds. Might want to watch some videos from JL Audio about setting up different profiles and using different sources. All I have to do is press down on my DRC 205 to change the profile to what ever source the profile is set to.
Personally when we sell an Astell and Kern to a high end client were using the digital coax for several reasons. The main reason is because there are very few DSPs on the market that have a better D/A converter built into them vs the Astell and Kern. I personally hate the computer printee plug on the VXI amplifiers and their input routing looks like an 8 year old drew a diagram. Just too confusing with so many better DSP amplifiers on the market imho
I get you, and agree. Most of the time we fit a DAP because of its linear output rather than it’s DAC or any of its own features. It enables the system to be played by the client without the flawed OEM system.
Those mids and tweets look very nice to me,very minimalist.
Thank you. Exactly what I was going for.

Nice wash up of all your hard work. Great review and build mate. Top notch audioness 🔉🔉
Much appreciated

Thank you very much! It’s hard to keep the algorithm happy, if we play music the video gets taken off the home page etc. is what it is.

Yeah surprised me, too. Doesn’t work like that with JL.
Amazing. Do the mids play into the a pillars and is airspace for these mids a consideration?
They're open to the pillars mate, yeah. Couldn't leave them in that small an enclosure.

Don't worry, I'm already on it! Thanks for the comment.
How do you control your DAP while driving?
Currently, I don't.
