Avoid buying the cheapest broken Volvo XC60 with a lot of problems and find a reliable used Volvo XC60 that can go off-road and on-road without breaking the bank and with the best engine. Avoid the mistake of buying a cheap automatic Volvo XC60 with common faults as a project and attempting to fix it. This buyer's guide covers the 1st generation used Volvo XC60 from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 including facelifts and refresh models in all trims from S to Executive, and R-Design, as well as the Sport and SE Nav models. Owners and buyers looking for a guide on what to look out for may find our guide useful and if you are considering first generation Volvo XC60 or a competitor like a Range Rover Sport or BMW X3 of the same age then don't forget to check out our other videos. The D5 engine will be popular with European buyers but the 3.2 and T6 2.9 will also have markets that have high demand, especially the USA.
    The common problems discussed in our buyer's guide to the XC60 include wheel arch rust and repair, Haldex issues, and rear springs and trailing arms. Recall malfunction on Volvo XC60 are listed in our guide for further information on the good and bad years to buy.

    i just bought a 2013 xc60, and havent been able to give a proper review yet, due to the condition of it. (i posted a video series titled "volvo project) so far, i love it, very clean design, plenty of room, and the engine seems strong, considering its clocking 201k miles on the odometer. great video review, im actually glad i watched this!

    I can confirm the wheel arch rusting on the 2012 model (3.0 liter inline 6 turbo), specifically on the fenders. Had one replaced and will do the other as it has started to rust.

    Just got a 2016 r-design nav-lux 2.4 D5. Not got all the bells and whistles, but plenty there. Great nic, full Volvo service history, 60k miles. I’ve booked it in for a cambelt service (£1079, ouch). Hoping to look after it and keep for a number of years. Great car 👍

    I have a D5 2012 model year and the problems been, split intercooler pipe and rear Valdez unit. However, the most serious that occurred last month was total brake failure! Luckily the car was parked and when I went to start it I was met with a myriad of warning lights. It would appear that the master cylinder seals had failed allowing the servo to injest the brake fluid. Parts took four weeks to arrive and the repair has taken over six weeks as the Volvo dealer has struggled to rectify excessive pedal travel.

    Recently purchased a 2016 Platinum T6 Drive-E AWD with 45k from a one owner. This is my first Volvo as I have mostly dealt with BMW, Mercedes, and some US models. We are excited and believed we got a good price and product as of now. I did not want to over invest so when I found this I felt it was a good start. I will keep you updated. I did by a 5yr 60k extended warranty from dealer which has worked well for me with my BMWs. We will see on that too.

    Well done! 2010 XC60 owner 🇨🇦. Solid vehicle, a real tank but not perfect. Had issues with the sunroof. Known issue, Volvo was pursued in US (North America for this) to no avail. Cost me about 2000$ to repair 🤨. Heated mirrors burned out as did the brittle wiring to them. My 2003 Honda Odyssey both heated mirrors still functional. For a ‘Nordic’ vehicle this is a HUGE fail in my books. Suspension (notably coil springs) back and front are somewhat sub-par. I don’t off road but have had vehicles whose suspension has lasted much longer. Perhaps issue was the shocks.. Suspension overall; 🫤 Handling is good however. T6 R design 20 inch wheels but $$$$$$$ for replacement tires. Using 17 rims for winter use, much smoother ride with higher sidewalls and less expensive for tires. I feel every crack in the road with my 20’s. Parts can be expensive, but the service has been very good (it has to be!! 😉) Shop around for parts. I do most of my maintenance but I know when I’m beat and have a garage do the work. Bigger oil pan on the T6 because of the turbo charger so oil changes are $$$$$.. which is why I do them myself. I save about half on a 150$ oil change..Cheers! ✈️

    2010 T6 150k miles and just keeps going. It has needed a LOT of midlife maintenance (replace engine mounts, rusted out fenders, acc belt/pulleys, cat pipe, prop shaft, all fluids). But I was able to DIY everything for less than US$3000 and expect it to last another 100k miles. Most durable and reliable vehicle I ever owned.

    • @russstewart1800
      @russstewart1800 20 часов назад

      No, the T6 is not an import exclusive. It’s a 6 cylinder 3.0 liter turbo engine. The T5 is a 4 cylinder engine. I’m not a big fan of it because it doesn’t have an oil dipstick. The oil level is monitored electronically and viewed through a menu selection.With that said, the T5 does get better mileage than the T6 plus, I run premium gas in the T6 and regular in the T5.
