I got interested in seeing different views of Bioshock because of the Distributist review. He also had a great critique of Ayn Rand's writing style. The point I liked was that there were obvious good guys, obvious bad guys, and not anyone in between. The Joker movie is my favorite movie, and there is no way the absolute good and evil style would work there. My favorite point in the game was that someone has to clean the toilets. I also suspect Ayn Rand thought that "If X is bad, opposite of X is good" thinking. I joke about conservatives saying they love free market. I just ask "So I can get hookers and blow?"
just listend to it on spotify, why did it take so long to get it there? Also i think it's a little bit unfair to say that players dont understand the games they play. You guys put a lot of focus the backround and politics of the world of bioshock. But the main choice players get to make is regarding the little sisters and from a players perspective the twist about the manipulation with the 'Would you kindly' is a much bigger event because of the nature of a linear game. I'm not sure if i got across what i'm thinking but anyway i like the podcasts a lot. Keep up the great work and greetings from Estonia.
We do talk about the nature of the game towards the end of the podcast. About whether or not the actual message of the game is about the nature of agency. I think there's definitely a problem with some game literacy in the general public. Hence why so many gamers see the inclusion of a woman as a political choice whereas the idea of a war game isn't. I had some issues uploading the episode which is why it took so long. Sorry about that.
Thanks for having me!
It was great; we'd love to have you on again.
making me really wanna go back and replay this again now, dang
Bioshock 1 is definitely the best game in the series in my opinion

@@bytemarx8520 I really appreciate the analysis of one of my favorite games, do you think you would do a follow-up with Bioshock Infinite?
@@martin.ristal Sure. I have more mixed feelings about Infinite but I would be open to a follow up
I play with my life, am I a gamer as well?
As long as you're safe
@@bytemarx8520 haha

Betas don't exist, you've literally been duped by conservative podcasters and memes, touch grass.
