Excellent video that is harmed by constantly getting political. Calling out him being conservative constantly detracts from ally your points. Especially when you said (light paraphrase) "Sharld doesn't believe in society because he is conservative" What the hell are you talking about. Stop letting your poisoned liberal bias destroy your otherwise well thought out video. Do better man. You don't need to make liberalism your entire personality just as you claim Shad shouldn't make conservatism his personality.

The problem with Shad is that he doesn't try ANYTHING different AT ALL. He's done the same ol' routine for the past 5-7 years. I stopped watching him cause I just wasn't interested in swords anymore, or knew about the topic he was talking about OR it's just a video he's made before with a different script. The most different he has done is his second commentary channel. But he doesn't try to get with the times. As much as he likes to go on and on and on about AI, he sure is slow when it comes to any other aspects about tech and internet culture. He just doesn't care enough to learn or change to what the algorithms like or what modern viewers like. So all in all, he just does the same old same old and blames everything and everyone but himself. It's extremely sad tbh. I wish he didn't have the an ego the size of Mount Everest, and actually asked for help from his brother from time to time.

You make some valid points. However. LOL at the idea of RUclips being "free market". It's central control. RUclips also benefits from acting as a publisher whilst enjoying the protections of a platform, allowing the simultaneous stifling of one creator and promotion of another, despite both breaching laws. Your bias against conservatives is pathetic and what YOU would almost certainly define as intolerant. The most intolerant among us are neo-liberals. The evidence is overwhelming.

I stopped watching when he stopped making 10-20 minute videos reviewing a sword, a show, a book, or talking about his niche area, castle architecture. When he started putting out 40, 60+ minute videos and reviews of shows twice as long as the show, and started forcing this rotating cast of uncharismatic co-hosts. And, you know, when he started spouting off that Mormon bullshit.

Thanks For Making this, you inspired me to think that the best way this game could have been made, is with Playable Whitehill Characters, it's an aspect of Game of Thrones you normally see that's lacking in the game, you need the Whitehills to have characterization and emotional stakes for them to be anywhere near as good as the Lannisters as villains.

8:06 I am a big Shadiversity fan, I see the channel as like the Top Gear of HEMA stuff (Not always necessarily the most informative[we watch Skall for that], however definitely incredibly entertaining) I guarantee the reason he didn't mention watch time is because I bet that number is HUGE - I can't recall the last time I didn't watch a video I clicked of theirs all the way to the end

I haven't watched a video of his in a while, a couple years maybe, but I remember when I first watched his content it was pretty informative and backed with manuscripts or writing or why it would make sense in a historical way. Then it went into him bashing on how things wouldn't work in fiction, but would use some context for why. Then he just started bashing everything with the whole "this is what I think and if you don't think this way you're wrong." without any kind of backing. From there he went into a phase of "accepting" fantasy concepts and saying why the fiction he bashed before would work without any real backings other than "I cut some wood out and it would probably work." The second he bought the land and built his "castle," his channel became a sinkhole of "We're gonna spend all this money and play around with weapons and armor and none of use really know what we're doing" while pretending he's an expert on any subject at all, while he has absolutely no skill with any weapon melee weapon he would use (he could actually use a bow from what I watched.) He's become a goofy clown that looks like a child playing with a toy sword while talking down on his friends and brother while playing make believe and trying to pass it on as fact and blaming everyone and everything except himself for his failures. Also, his book sucks and he doesn't know how to write.

In hindsight lore wise it’s actually more loyal to the source material than the show. The Foresters and Whitehills aren’t made up factions but from the books. Sure choice wise it was a mixed bag but the story and lore was pretty top notch. Although the show went to hell, it would work perfectly you well in the book universe.

This may be Copium but I really hope that once we get the last two ASOIAF books they will pick up the game again and make another season or two. It was truly (for me) the best game I’ve ever played as a mega fan of the ASOIAF universe. Because abstractly or indirectly, technology can definitely be used to build social infrastructure that helps in dealing with human issues. For instance communication technology we are literally using right now to talk about this issue. Technology is literally being harnessed in order in improve communication between humans. In fact our technology is an extension of ourselves. And yes technology can be bad or good. I would say it's a result of our economic system and therefore incentives that creates technology that is doing more harm than good. Although, you could argue that just because something is bad at some point in time, doesn't mean it will always be bad in other circumstances. Obviously, that can be highly unpredictable though and we just have to deal with it as it comes or put more effort in studying our relationship with our technology.

It's wild to me to treat conservatives like weirdo outcasts when you believe something as extreme as communism. I think shad is a fool for dragging his own politics into a space that didn't demand it, it risks dividing your audience, and it taints your image to many who disagree with you. Likewise I think viewing shadiversity under the lens of communism is unneeded in criticizing him. Additionally, and this probably isn't news to you, but most people aren't communists, so those points will fall on deaf ears, and for the many people who view it as a dangerous ideology it will turn them away from any of your content. Also, any conservative I've met believes in the idea of a society, they just disagree with what methods should be used to change it, in addition to how it should be changed. I have no idea where you got it into your head that they, as a collective just straight up don't believe in it.

You know what niche I hate? Of course you don't you don't know me, that was a rhetorical question obviously. But I'll answer my own question anyways. I hate the niche of people who let their own intelligence talk their big brain into believing ideologies and failed evil regimes like communism. It should be very obvious if Karl Marx lover simply looked at historical facts that communism does not work on a large scale that's why a commune is quite small like a bunch of Hippies growing eggplants and women who don't shave their armpits smoking weed and having relative success until they try to expand and this system crumbles. I came to this channel and was interested in the topic until these little interjections with The Communist theme sprinkled in. The problem with many Telltale games is the insistence that "choices matter" when so often they clearly don't. You do everything in your power to prevent an outcome and it happens anyway, you get told a character will remember your actions, only for them to die, you save one character, only for another character to take their place so they can write the same scene with two different characters. Whichever character you don't pick as Sentinel betrays you, Mira always ends up getting caught for the murder, the rebellion always fails, Ramsay always kills Ethan. It's failure after failure. Sure, Mira can avoid getting executed, but at the cost of Tom's life and becoming a breeding slave for the man who ruined her life, which I'd consider a fate worse than death actually. It's just a slog, it's not an inherently bad game or story, but when there's no hope, it naturally brings up the question of why the story even needed to be told in the first place. One idea I've seen is a pyrrhic victory, barely scraping a victory against the Whitehills, but still in servitude to the Boltons and broken after the effort, and it would have been at least had a bit of hope to it to keep more people engaged

i liked watching shad when his videos were 1 hour rants about castels, towns, clothings and so on in games and movies picking apart fights and stuff like that. the less of that stuff he did and the more well his new videoes he did the less i watched him. same with the metatron

I'm glad to see a more political video on this channel, but I also don't think that this view of fascism can do any good and it's miles away from anything marxist. Seeing it firstly as a moral and aesthetic ideology will never help us understand the way it works and manifests. We can't simply talk about a vague concept of hierarchy and a bunch of cultural trends, or even worse, online archetypes or individual flaws. We have to explain clear class relations and political movements. What sets fascism apart from other authoritarian capitalist regimes is mass militant support, usually from the petty bourgeoisie, so it bursts out of certain economic and political conditions and it's only topped by fascist culture, but never fully sustained or brought by it. Far right movements are only rising because the so-called left is unwilling to fight the system and solve anyone's material problems, so people gravitate to whatever presents itself as anti establishment. I think that the ideas this video proposes, and a common view of fascism in leftist online spaces, strays people away from a concrete understanding of the phenomenon. The liberal left often conflates conservatives with fascists in order to fearmonger and gain votes, but that only sedates movements, it gives people a useless political tool and it moves them further from radical conclusions. A great example of this is the Historic Compromise that happened in Italy in the '70s. I don't want this to become an unbearable wall of text, we can either talk in private or below this reply

the newer videos with the full cast are very entertaining, but after finding his channel Knights Watch, its hard to not see Shad's true napoleon complex come out in the main shadiversity content

I don't care about his art I don't care about his views he is entitled to his views I have always maintained this for all not too judge by politics. But I cannot find any substance in historical accuracy within his work. He has little skill in combat which would be fine if he didn't gaslight other tube hema practitioners and he's not one btw. Just found you guys and this podcast is great, ignore some of the losers in the comments, you make great points about how AI art assists the online fascist right, and you're very entertaining.
