These were the good ol days of the show. Nothing and no one will rival the magic of this ensemble. I laughed my ass off to work many a day thanks to Howard, Jackie, Robin and Fred. If Jackie returned I would renew my Sirius.
We all know it would never be the same and would end up in a huge letdown for us all. Thank god we have these recordings to remind us of the good times.
Still funny 20 years later...so wrong but so good. Fred was superb at inserting Jackie's laugh at the right moment and Gilbert cracks me up because he loves it.

I was listening to this when it was broadcast in New York. I was driving on the Long Island Expressway and I was laughing so hard I almost slammed into the concrete highway divider.

Wow! Listening to this brings back so many memories. This show was my morning therapy for about 15 years, and I miss it so. Jackie, whether you loved or hated him, definitely brought a unique flavor to it all.
If I remember correctly, when Fred hit the "Random Jackie Laugh" button, Jackie would sit silent, motionless and expressionless, to make it clear to all that the inappropriate laughs were recordings.
Jackie was so versatile. He had great stories, such as the Rodney Dangerfield story. Howard could goof on him at any time. They could use his sound bites to great new bits. Jackie was the cornerstone of the show.
My favorite part of the Stern show was listening to the news to hear "Jackie" laughing at people's tragedies. I realize it was Fred's handiwork, but it was still hysterical.
Every time I watch this entire bit, I begin to laugh just like Howard & Gilbert when they broke out of character at (2:53 - 3:09) (Ughhh ha ha Haa!). This bit/clip is pure comedic gold & it never gets old! This is a definite favorite on your "favorites" playlist.
I remember when I first started listening to Stern back in the early 90s and being shocked by this segment. For a millisecond I thought I was suppose to be offended but then I realized how brilliant this segment was.

Jackie's recorded laugh laughing at horrific things is the single best element in the history of the show. Pure GENIUS.
Can not agree more! It made me lose my mind every time.
