No, Ralph was hired for the channel 9 show to do special effects makeup and prosthetics, and was later hired as a "Stylist" after Dee Snider started the ball rolling. Check out what Howard looked like before any stylist got a hold of him. In his 20's and 30's , he had a bad mustache, was overweight, and looked 20 years older than he was .Ralph definitely earns his money, while Kato does nothing.
