March 13, 2008 was the air date of this, based on Gary's turning 46.
How could anyone enjoy the wrap up show, artie described it perfectly, everyone sitting around the fire listening to Gary blab and blah about his war stories..
After Artie said that. Howard had to say how he loved it. I have never went looking up the wrap up show EVER!
God gary is so boring, he's such a narcissist who loves talking about himself more than anything.
You don’t want to hear stories about how Gary booked Richard Lewis in 1989? 😂😂
@@NP35606😂
The show was at its peak with Jackie, and Billy. Howard, and Billy goofing on Jackie was priceless. Jackie's stories were great. Lightning in a bottle.
Like the stock market, the show had several peaks. That was certainly one of them.
The fake jackie laugh during the news lol
I agree people acted like Artie was so great he really wasn’t 😂
jackie wrote most of the lines billy read as the jackie puppet.
Beetlejuices prime during the E show is another peak. They’re like the Grateful Dead, where you could say 1973-1977 is my favorite era
Am I the only one who thinks that it would have been awesome to have Jackie and Artie on simultaneously?
Billy said Jackie gave him most of those lines when billy left then Jackie the show was never same
Gary talks SOOOO much 😂
his stories are so long you want to hang yoursefl
Gary: Still married. Kids are useless, but OK. John: Life in shambles. Kids are a traumatized mess.
Wait, I thought Jackie was obsessed with the show and couldn't let it go. Sounds like Fred has some issues to work through.
Everyone knows that Fred is not talented, including Fred. That is his issue. He is just another Howard Stern charity case, and he knows it, and it causes great anger and resentment. That is why he’s always shot out of a cannon.
I think Fred is hilarious! When he used to goof on Jackie, and Stuttering John and his sound effects where brilliant!
Fred is no more funny than all the guys you hang with, all of them occasionally have funny lines but none should be working full time in comedy. Fred got lucky and knows how to keep howard happy to continue the gravy train.
I love Artie "always sounds like I'm midway dropping a deuce" Lange 😁
That's not his name.
Perfect description 😂
@@coolboy5245 Oh, literal Jim.
When you realize they’re all back office calls it really changes it
Do you think it was even back then? I could see that today definitely.
Blaugh--wise!!!!
I’ve never heard this clip - great material as always!
Ron Zimmerman recently died.
You are 1,000% correct!
Jackie was 100% correct.
Billy West was the GOAT.
F Stern.
F the wrap up show.
F opiates, Artie.
I can't stand Fafa Fooey's speed talking.
I hate hearing Gary do his insightful bullshit
He’s such a blabbering idiot
he always thought he was way smarter and more interesting than he actually is. he's only funny when howard mocked his appearances and attempts to do things outside of the show (that he inevitably looked foolish at)

Fred played it perfectly. Jackie's full of shit when he said, "well if Fred was upset why didn't he complain". If Fred had bitched, Jackie would've gone to war over it, and made Howard/mgmt choose between the two. Of course Jackie would've threatened to leave, they would've caved, then Jackie gets to dine forever on the idea he's more valuable than Fred. That was probably half the reason Jackie did it in the first place. Jackie loves being at war. Over big things and small. Fred and Howard not fighting Jackie on the Head Writer shit was the best way to indicate how little it mattered. Let the weirdo have his useless victory. I don't think that was lost on Jackie either. Jackie's a mess.
Shut up, Fred Eric
Artie was NEVER a suitable replacement for Jackie. The biggest changes in the show that dramatically depleted the level of comedy on the show were: 1) When Billy left. 2) When Jackie left. 3) the move to Sirius.
The Jackie and Billy era was the best and most funny in the show history. When they were on terrestrial radio, they had to dodge FCC regulations and avoid fines; and in doing so, they had to creatively figure out ways to say things without actually saying them. That took very intelligent, quick minds and Fartie doesn't have either.
Fartie didn't write bits. He didn't have a voice or laugh that people could spontaneously break into impressions of for 45 minutes at a time. He didn't make Howard funnier. He didn't have a life with goofy get rich quick schemes. In fact, he didn't have a life that was funny at all...unless hookers, gambling, heroin, and lousy Italian word pronunciations are your thing.
Artie is an amazing talent, but he wasn't good on the show.
The move to Sirius was the single best improvement of the show.
Nobody cares
True - Jackie/Billy West era was peak Stern.
@@kingssuck06 Well thought out and articulated answer, guy. Did you think of that all by yourself?
artie was ONLY good on the show😂jackie was only good for goofing on
The only time Jackie was good on the show was when they goofed on him. Jackie leaving and Artie getting hired was serendipitous.
The early Sirius days were the greatest, bar none.
Okay, youngster.
You don't know how show business works?
Sirius was the death knell for THSS..
Hell no. Sirius ruined Stern.
This is before all the fa fa flowley noine bull s**t
Jackie wasn't funny. The cast goofing on Jackie was the stuff of legend
Exactly. Jackie wasn't completely untalented (like Stuttering John) but not nearly as talented as he thought. His main value was the soap opera aspect to him. Gary was spot on when he said, "there's nothing more interesting than a funny guy who's not being funny".
True and what made it hysterical was that he really couldn't take the criticism and jokes at all. He got pissed and that's when the laughs really started.
I think Fred has a right to be a little annoyed. Jackie joined the show when Fred was already there and writing then he had the balls to be " head writer" and the credit on the E show. That's a real dick move
Fred wrote nothing memorable. Kurt Waldheim was cringe
Nothing worse than listening to fa fa flunky
Jackie Made Howard Funny
Jackie good writer, storyteller. Comedian 👎
