I get where you're coming from, but the way I use my Reaper is especially beneficial to my squad during timed missions. I think it's basically useless to think about endless missions, as they make up such a small minority of all missions in XCOM2.
i know the feeling of a choosen not appearing during a retaliation, sitting during the mission sweating if the hunter will pitch or not. only ever got it once, beyond that every time one of the 3 appear. good vid, lots of decent info
Like your video's alot mate, May not still play xcom but your videos are priceless to me thus far! So i noticed you explain things in a way that is very easy to understand, actually showing your thinking process thru each step of a mission prep wise. Very different from some others and very valuable info.
I completed the game some years ago in easy, some months ago i bought all the dlc's and tried to beat in medium and i missed, now i am watching all your videos to try again now more intelligent, btw i speak Spanish too so watch your videos help me to practice the English haha
My early game strategy. 1) Replay the first mission as many times as it takes to come out with 3 full health soldiers. 2) Do whatever it takes to gain an engineer in your second mission. (These first two can be painful (lots of restarts)). 3) 3rd mission (meet Mox and Outrider). If a soldier dies, kill Mox or Outrider. This will restart the mission. No soldier dies today! Priority 1) Get engineers and scientists. Priority 2) Get magnetic weapons and plated armour. Don't get get baited in by breakthrough research. Only exceptional bonuses should waylay your pursuit of plated armour. PLATED ARMOUR is the goal!! Build your GTS first & your Resistance Ring second. Nothing else matters! Just dig through the Avenger for more supplies. Keep training rookies to better classes in the GTS and be sure to increase your squad size as soon as you can. Grenadiers kick ass. devastating
Early game I’d run 3 shotgun rangers 2 grenadiers and one gunslinger. I’d use the grenadiers to blow up cover and shred armor. Late game with specialty rounds available I run 3 gunslingers, melee ranger, grenadier, and one Psy. This comp I rearrange depending on the mission. Typically will swap out one gunslinger for another grenadier for more armor shredding. On time sensitive missions this comp has done well with huge temporary DPS boosts with cool downs.
Hi, thanks for the guide. I also pay attention to the outfits you have on your soldiers and the list of soldiers having expanded information about them. Could you please tell me what mods do you use for that?
Okay let me try to remember... Functionality that you talk about is probably: Quick Soldier Info, Uniforms, Detailed Soldier List Customization is actually a LOT of stuff: New Countries; Jack Appearance; Commander Hat; Anarchy Children Options; Female Hair Pack; Jack Customization; Female Face Pack; Glowing Eyes; Female Hair Pack; Added Part Names; Snake Eyes; Vindictus Female Hairstyles; Corrin Hairstyle; One Million Colors; Arms and Shoulders; Fire Emblem Robin Hair; CapnBubs Accessories; Lady Mechanika; Textile Armor; XXL Tattoo Pack; T1 Armor Options; Tali Squadmate; T2 Armor Options; Modular Armor; WAs Custom Armor; Lucina Hair; Skirmisher Cloak; T3 Armor Options; Beavers Custom Stuff; Historical Camo Pack; Invisible Hero Units Body Parts; N7 Squadmate; Deco Slots; Dr Liara TSoni; Skirmisher Helmets; R6 Armors; More Clothes; Kerrigan Squadmate; World Camo; Nova Squadmate; Kasumi Squadmate; Thessia Update; Jsleezy Repurposed Gear; Ashley Williams Squadmate; Camo Patterns; REORC WolfPack; S9 Saito Pack; Drimakus War Gear.
Most hilarious squad is 1skirmisher and 3 supports. Just send your skirmisher running blindly into battle, pulling as many pods as possible to himself and hunker down. Keep your supports on a safe spot and blast your skirmy with aid protocol every round and heals whenever he needs. Justice, return fire, reflex and etc will take care of the rest, just never not hunker down with your skirmisher, kick back and watch your enemies literally kill each other. Invented by redditor thereddestofgoats.
Greetings fairly new follower and new to xcom2 the war of the chosen. I have been following your videos yet I still die stupidly and have a hard time early game and late game. I find this frustrating because I rocked the original games and the enemy within. Any advice? Also I found the tri formation of a scout and two beefy shooter slash tanks not working. I usually use a Templar or ranger as a lure with a demo base granadeer and a gunner based about tier 1 grenade away. With a specialist (healer/combat med tree) with a gun slinger bringing up the rear. I am finding the mecs with the grenades kick my ass it seems like their grenades are even larger than remote starts I am playing on a PS4 so not sure if the game can have mods. Awesome videos great sound
Can I ask a question about an achievement? It is called exquisite timing. My main problem is, that with the new WoTC expansion, It is possible to make avatar project effectiveless about you because at the end of the game you have got 2-3 avatar project decreases, sabotages at the end of the latest months. The achievement says: Finish the game at 1st of July or at 15th with WoTC. Well, it didn't say what year. does it gonna trigger and will I get the achievement if I am going to play a 14-15 month long game and finish it in year 2036, or will it only trigger when I am rushing trough the game within ~120 days? It would be very important to me and I would be very happy because it would save a lot of time if it doesn't work, beecause I am at october, and that is a long way to go :/.
I am fairly sure it means by the first year. Yeah if you're at October already that is not going to work. Remember, you do NOT have to do it on Ironman, just on a Commander difficulty or above, so if you want you can savescum all you like, but you must complete it on the first year.
Thanks for the response, then I am sure it is going to be a hell of a trying because I completed commander only once and that was vallhalla with alt+f4 savescums XD
Take it slow Istvan, XCOM 2 is a difficult game, despite what many would lead you to believe. I notice it after myself, I play so much better now than when I started way back when. Take it slow and try to learn as you go, from your victories and especially from your defeats and you will be able to brave this mountain in no time.
In the long run its a little annoying with the fast talking but ofc if he talks slower the video would be like 5-10 min longer so its a fair trade. I would have wished u dident equipped any mod weapons in the strategy as they will very heavy depend on if ppl are running mods.
Yeah... that was the primary motivation behind accelerated pace. There are no mod weapons there, only weapon SKINS. Everything I've mentioned you can do in your game with NO mods.
About 3/4 into the game and in some missions I spend more time equipping and making decisions about loudout then on the actual mission. I mean, I like it but hot damn sometimes I just want to shoot aliens.
well... any comp with all 3 faction heros is bound to get decent most of the time tips still helped tho edit: I known this has nothing to do with the tips
I get what you're saying, but there are many situations when I don't really want all faction heroes. I don't necessarily consider faction heroes superior to original classes, they have their own strengths and weaknesses and organizing your party well is really important to succeed. There are definitely times when you REALLY want to use faction classes above others, but I don't think that's every mission or even most missions. Regardless, thanks for watching!
Nah, it's fairly stable. I carefully (as much as I could) assembled it with mostly cosmetic things which don't conflict with one another or safely overwrite one another and here we are. It's no skyrim, but if you're careful you can mod it quite extensively and we have lots of talented modders on xcom2 scene as well.
Hey what mods do you use? I really like the UI that you are currently using (in this video) and I would love to have it for my own game. anyone have any specific suggestions?
Hey! It's probably one of those: USER INTERFACE: nTex Rank Icons; Yet Another F1; Smooth Scrolling; Resistance Ranks (Modified); Color Coded Bonds; Upcoming Events; Hours Instead of Days; Expanded Mission Names; Additional Icons; Expanded Callsigns and Nicknames; More Character Backstories.
Sure you can, but that's gonna take forever to answer, haha. I use a bunch of customization options available, it is easier to say what I DON'T use. I don't use Grim's Armors and I don't use Overwatch conversions, everything else, quite literally, is fair game. From the top of my head: 1. Templar uses a bunch of Mass Effect Armor. So it's a combination of Garrus' armor, Shepard's armor and standard Templar gear. 2. Fadera uses almost wholly a Lady Mechanika outfit. 3. Skirmisher is likely decked with one of the capes, added by "Skirmisher's Capes" 4. Valente is dressed in a combination of civilian outfit and Rainbow 6 Siege gear. 5. Reaper is dressed I think exclusively in the core game Reaper gear. 6. Specialist is equipped with civilian outfits again, any mod that unlocks them (for me it's three of them) will do. Additionally I use the 1 Million Colors mod to get more color options, a lot of different hair mods and voice packs. You really have to customize this to your own liking, but I am working on a video about some of the mods I use, hopefully that will be helpful to get you going :D
Let me tell y’all a couple things first he already knew you didn’t lose the game. How you know is when you reach the finished bar it stars with 30 days his started with 13 and if you take any of the avatar progress down it saves how much time is left for the next time you reach the top level of the avatar progress so if he really didn’t know it would have started at 30 days Second if there is only 7 enemies on any level unless its the first mission this bitch is playing on easy Medium is 8-9 Hard 10-11 Very hard or whatever its called 11-13 Or thats the common spawns enemy spawn and as a person who has played all difficulties on iron man i can tell you iv never seen a 7 enemy area on medium So this is not the type of person anyone should take tips from when hes playing on the easiest difficulty and pretending he doesn’t know the best strategy of letting them finish the avatar project just to bring it back to 0
1 Reaper ... 5 psi ops. Mission over. On open maps ... 1 Reaper ... 5 snipers. Mission over. (You can actually just give them all bluescreen rounds if you are lazy). While the above is indeed doable and not very fair I believe fun to be a factor when playing. I love slashing things with swords, so I usually take a more dangerous but "for me" rewarding approach.
Quit playing WotC cuz buddy comes in teleporting out of nowhere… is immune to overwatch… kills my whole team one by one… and teleports out. That is serious bs. How is that a game? That’s just a delete button
12:56 I can't believe how detailed that meticulous breakdown of the Templar class was.
wat......... WAT?!
One other factor to consider is if the mission is timed or not. For untimed missions the reaper/sniper combination is deadly.
I get where you're coming from, but the way I use my Reaper is especially beneficial to my squad during timed missions. I think it's basically useless to think about endless missions, as they make up such a small minority of all missions in XCOM2.
It's crazy how deep this game is. Looks simple on the surface, but there's so much to know, it's overwhelming.
Subscribed. You explained things very logically.
i know the feeling of a choosen not appearing during a retaliation, sitting during the mission sweating if the hunter will pitch or not. only ever got it once, beyond that every time one of the 3 appear.

Thanks Count Chocula! Very helpful
"Heavy lancer is a piece of shit" entirely accurate!!

Grenadiers kick ass.

Great rundown, I was sleeping on the plated armor but will throw that in the mix immediately. 😎👍
Early game I’d run 3 shotgun rangers 2 grenadiers and one gunslinger. I’d use the grenadiers to blow up cover and shred armor. Had to change that video speed to 0.75
Much better.
Already watching with 1.5x speed whilst reading this... what have I done
Interesting, I was at 2.2
Another method would be to use a repear with 5 snipers 👀
most versatile squad is 2 assault 2 grenadier 2 specialist (one hack and one heal)
"...and that's all you need to know." Great Video man, thanks!
Great video Mike keep it up with all the videos
Thanks, handsome :D
Sooo much great info thx :) its super useful
Thank you for watching, glad I could help! :)
Very well presented. My complements to your skill with English as a second language.
Do you use battle scanners to root out faceless? Or just stay away from civilians?
Great video, keep it up proud of ya!
Thanks a lot!
Step 1 buy a shadow chamber
' the stun lancer , he is a piece of shit '
Yes. Yes he is.

Great video man.
On another note, what's the mod list you're using? :D Specifically the weapons one.
Hey, thank you!
The guns are from: Resistance Firearms Assets; Resistance Firearms. Search it on Steam Workshop!

How do you see the aliens on the mission before you start
I think it's one of the story upgrades, you can't miss it.

Holy cow. I thought the game tends to crash a lot with that many mods?!
What customisation mods are being used?
Too many to list. I have the full list on my lets play descriptions.
QuickSaveTV cool, thanks! I’ve seen a few RUclipsrs have those sweaters and I’m wondering where to get them.
Hey what mods do you use? I really like the UI that you are currently using (in this video) and I would love to have it for my own game. anyone have any specific suggestions?
Hey! It's probably one of those:
USER INTERFACE: nTex Rank Icons; Yet Another F1; Smooth Scrolling; Resistance Ranks (Modified); Color Coded Bonds; Upcoming Events; Hours Instead of Days; Expanded Mission Names; Additional Icons; Expanded Callsigns and Nicknames; More Character Backstories.
May I ask what are your soldier skin/dress mod?
Sure you can, but that's gonna take forever to answer, haha. I use a bunch of customization options available, it is easier to say what I DON'T use. I don't use Grim's Armors and I don't use Overwatch conversions, everything else, quite literally, is fair game.

This kalashnikova 🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣😂
I wounder what happened with Dragunova...
Let me tell y’all a couple things first he already knew you didn’t lose the game. Second if there is only 7 enemies on any level unless its the first mission this bitch is playing on easy
Medium is 8-9
Hard 10-11
Very hard or whatever its called 11-13
Or thats the common spawns enemy spawn and as a person who has played all difficulties on iron man i can tell you iv never seen a 7 enemy area on medium
So this is not the type of person anyone should take tips from when hes playing on the easiest difficulty and pretending he doesn’t know the best strategy of letting them finish the avatar project just to bring it back to 0
My timer started on thirteen days as well I think it was on veteran no iron man so he could be telling the truth
That is a mechanical unit that is a piece of shit !
HHAHA
made me lol !
Bro calm down.... you are speaking too fast for me
Try to slow the video down to 0.75. I wasn't trying to talk too fast, I'm actually surprised you can't follow.
:p
hahahahahah legend
1 Reaper ... 5 psi ops. Mission over.
On open maps ... 1 Reaper ... 5 snipers. Mission over. (You can actually just give them all bluescreen rounds if you are lazy).
While the above is indeed doable and not very fair I believe fun to be a factor when playing. I love slashing things with swords, so I usually take a more dangerous but "for me" rewarding approach.
Sure. There are many ways to complete missions and to complete them effectively. One of them is to wait until you have 50 psi operatives :D
Quit playing WotC cuz buddy comes in teleporting out of nowhere… is immune to overwatch… kills my whole team one by one… and teleports out. That is serious bs. How is that a game? That’s just a delete button
