Now that I do carpentry work out of my truck I needed an organization system for my truck's tool box. I have a standard crossbox tool box. It hold's plenty, but when it's stuffed full it is inefficient. I needed a flexible, efficient way to store my everyday tools in my truck. I wanted a divider system that I could adapt to my changing needs. I used 1/2" plywood and 1/8" hardboard to make an adjustable divider system and also made two trays to sit in the top portion of my tool box. I feel like I can now hold twice as much and access my tools quickly. Хобби
Great tool organization ideas. I have reorganized my truck too many times and as soon as I am finished with the reincarnation, its time to change it again. Drives me crazy which is a short drive for me.
Hey Robert, I'm not sure if tangled ratchet straps bother you as much as they do me, but I've found a solution that works pretty well. I use beer can koozies for my ratchet straps, I got a whole bunch of them out of some junk a few years ago.
I roll my straps up like you have yours then stuff them in the koozie. It works really well and no matter how much I move them around they don't get tangled or unraveled, and you can still see which strap is which.
I love your compartment idea, thinking I'll do this to my toolbox in the future!
I was just thinking of a good way to keep them separate, I may try that
The gap idea for the level is very clever. Thanks for posting.
Love the idea, nice job.
it'll work. I have been wrecking my brain for the last year or so to come up with a diy decked drawer system. Since the factory Decked tool boxes are outrageous but I like the idea of having a drawer the full length of my 8 foot bed. with dividers inside of it. I'm going to start building it next month hopefully. I just need to figure out how I can make the top trifold with being able to get into any of the sections needed. was planning on spraying some Speedokote T rex bedliner on it when finished.
Very nice! Everything looks so much more accessible. I know when I use those tool bags, things can get lost in there. Great build
+Robert Dailey (Dailey Woodworks) very cool.
