    The study showed that 3 AA might increase dht in prostate. But what we are concerned is the dht in scalp. It doesn’t mean that the 3 AA will increase dht on the scalp

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  3 года назад +1

      The point I was trying to make is that the 3AHD enzyme can either break down or create DHT and we know it can do the latter because of the effects it has on the prostate, it has been shown it can make things worse and there is no reason to think that the same thing can't also happen to the hair follicles being that the role DHT plays in the scalp is very similar to the role it plays in the prostate. The way enzymes work is if you have more 3AA you will get more conversion back to DHT, which is not what we want. So 3AA is not the magic cure.

    Nobody is going to say that you can regrow lost teeth, if you don't brush them and they completely decay. But for some reason many of us are convinced that there should be a magical way to regrow all of our lost hair because a couple of guys here and there regrew some. In reality significant regrowth is very uncommon and rarely happens even in eunuchs and MTFs. The cure for losing teeth is regular mouth hygiene since childhood. The cure for hair loss is getting on proven medication as early as possible (or right after puberty in case of 5ar inhibitors and anti-androgens). It is not about finding an elixir of regrowth after you lose a lot of hair as an adult. There's no such thing and there will never be. You restore most of what you've lost with a hair transplant. Too many people waste a lot of time and money trying to find an alternative path of massive miraculous regrowth which doesn't exist.

  • @misterbool7349
    @misterbool7349 2 года назад +1

    Here is my theory : the problem is insulin resistance !
    Because of that you don't have enough estrogens in comparison with the DHT. DHT is the best anti estrogen (antagonist of estrogen receptors I guess)
    So why some diabetic people don't have any AGA ? Cause they are overweight and so they have more estrogens (fat leads to more estrogen production by the body).
    So when you take finatseride, you lower your DHT in order to get your estrogens higher enough to protect your hair.
    The question is : why do I have insulin resistance ? Diet ? Genetic ? Both ? Stress ? Gut (microbiota) disorders ?

My gf looked and said it looks like it may be helping? How long should it take really to get back crown hair loss? @@jerryschaefer7178 you must take fin for a year, by that time is where fin reach its max potential( some ppl gets hair regrowth by fin so stick with it) About missing it a week, np but try to take it daily 1mg or less. About min it may regrow and thick your hair but careful that you will shed too many hairs, if you start taking it and you regret, and want to stop using min go to a doctor bc you will have to stop using it slowly ( if thats the word). I'd recommend to read more about min and its side effects. I just don't use it bc its side effects and for some people it doesn't works, for others it does work but it only last 1-2 years then its effects declines and others are ok with it. And start with the lowest minox % dosage.If you have cats be careful bc minoxidil is toxic for them, after you apply it to your scalp wash your hands. If you have more questions there is on reddit a subreddit r/tressless or ask me. Probably you should add dermarroller or dermapen with minox, it increases minox regrowth. bidirectional does not mean it goes always in both side... there is a ∆G in the chemical reaction which represent the amount of energy needed to make that happens. so it basically goes mostly in one direction anyway

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  2 года назад

      I never claimed it always goes both directions. Which direction it goes depends on the ration of NAD and NADPH, as was shown in this study's fig 3 (doi.org/10.1210/en.2002-0032). The point is that just enhancing the enzyme is not going to lower DHT levels, it could make them worse, since, unlike 5AR, this is a bidirectional enzyme.

Senescent cells express inflamators factors like IL-6 and TGF-B that leaves to fibrosis on the skin and don't initiatate the recruitment of stem cells that will form progenitor cells that will for example generate the arrecator pilli muscles and connect to the follicle, this progenitor cells also form the the cells that will produce hair.

    Switched to oral fin and minox foam and for the past 8 weeks I've been shedding consistently. Nothing crazy but noticeable shedding and it seems I've lost ground.
    Previously I'd use the topical treatments twice a day but with my new treatments I'd take a fin pill and then apply a capful of minox foam once a day.

      Yeah, anything that can cause a change in the growth cycle can cause shedding. I'd find a stack you can live with, give it a year and then see how it looks.
