Angela....I am ever grateful you do these challenges.....and continue to teach us new things along the way! My goal for 2019 is to actually complete these challenges! 👍🏻👏🏻😂❤️
On the beautiful blue, will you be demonstrating using that kit? I love it. I also live red. I am going to try to get into the store soon to meet you. I have been sick so I have to wIt until I am good to go. Thank you for your time, energy, personality, skill, and free videos.
I tried sooooo hard to finish up projects and not start new ones last year...... Had that same thought for this year...... but, this looks toooooooo fun! I'm in!!!! lol
Next video is on my bday! Im so excited. And thank you for keeping the challenge affordable. I just ordered my kit, including thread. I really love your videos, especially enjoyed the one with Cloe, remind me of working with my daughters.
Oh my! I love this idea. I have some ugly, VERY colorful fabric. This might be a great idea to use it for. Hopefully I'll get a chance to give this technique a try.
Thanks for taking time to respond to my email about the link. I can hardly wait to try this....I've got the ugliest yet most interesting fabric to try! Waiting for the longarm video..... blessings in the coming new year! Keep that wine glass filled on your Midnight Quilt Show (although I do wonder sometimes if it isn't grape juice.....lol)
I really want to try this but my longarm is tied up for the next month. I'll have to save all the videos to do it after it's freed up. I like the idea of a previous comment about using fabric you don't really like because the little peek throughs may improve it.
Angela, The gold color is going to be the most predominant? I think I would like my coordinating fabric to be the most dominant with the contract and main as secondary. Is there a reason why the colors are placed as shown? I am soo excited about trying this with you, but just want to understand the color placements. Thank you
The contrasting fabric is going to be the dom/ background color. You are going to do all your FMQ then cut away bits of the contrasting color to reveal the focal fabric and cut away focal fabric to reveal the coordinating fabric. The reason you want the contrasting fabric on top is so the focal and coordinating fabrics pop out of the quilt and draw the eye.

@@AngelaWaltersfmq Thanks for the link. I contacted my Pfaff dealer and she says no. I need a long shank, I believe. But you now have both of us on the hunt for one for my machine. Thank you. I cannot wait to try this technique
I was wondering the same thing and found this from Angela in earlier post: You can do a quilt sandwich of any size. However, for this challenge, I am using 1/2 yard pieces of all of the fabrics.
I'm confused. You show 2 color ways; each has 3 fabrics. Then, when you discuss layering, you layer 4 fabrics. Which is it? Thanks so much. This looks like it will be a great technique.
3 fabrics for the quilt top. One for the backing. Total 4, but I think she didn't mention the backing because that is part of the std quilt sandwich not part of the new technique.
Check your trash or add her addy to your address book I wasn't getting mine andi use windows 10 and found them in another folder . I use google mail and found them hitting the search mail and typing in Angela Walters
🥴 I was kidding. Can’t wait to see the new one. I’m just a beginner although I’ve had this machine about 2 years. I didn’t know what I was doing when I bought it. I thought it would be a good starter machine and I didn’t get any help with it from the people I bought it from. It took forever for me to figure out tension and still not sure I got it right. I’m a frustrated beginner 😉 I’ve had the machine 2 years 🙄
@@tinacostner3069 Go to a quilting store and ask they if they could give you some lessons on it You may have to take a class but it would sure be done quicker then 2 years and good luck
this series of videos need to have there own play list

I'm ready! I have never heard of this method, but it looks like too much fun!
I ordered my kit yesterday and got it today! Can't beat that.
I'm just about finished with the Dot To Dot FMQ Challenge. So excited to try another new technique!

Yes, if you watch the latest video in the challenge, I demonstrate some on that kit :)
I ordered the pink/red kit with thread immediately!! I seriously need some therapy!! ❤️
(Kit was shipped right away- happy dance!)
Looking forward to this challenge. Got to get my fabrics ready -- half yard pieces!! thanks Angela
In Panama, these are called Molas. They are so detailed and use in general six different colors for each block
Yay! Looks like so much fun and Something new for me......I’m so excited !

...and with a half yard of each fabric I'm thinking I might get two throw pillow tops out of this....I'm so excited.
I think you're amazing. Your FMQ is always so beautiful, it belongs in an art gallery!
Aww you are so sweet!!
This looks interesting. I’m not familiar with this type of quilt so I look forward to learning it. Thanks
I love this! And I love you!! I’m a newbie but I’m not afraid to tackle it!
This looks like a fun project! Thanks for sharing😁 I'll be looking thru my fabric stash to see what fabric I can find.

Thanks for all the wonderful videos!
Sew excited for this unique challenge! Thank you Angela, happy New Year!
Mmm... I think this is exactly what I needed to do my quilt guild winter challenge! I think this would be perfect for doing mist or clouds
Looks like fun.....what if you don’t have a long arm machine?
Great! A new technique that is VERY interesting.....hoooo I’m in ;-)
This is definitely exciting and new! Thank you!
So very cool Can't wait... I'm ready..
Looking forward to this challenge, thanks for putting it together, Angela.
How big should the quilt sandwich be?

Course I fully believe in doing WTF you want, so you could totally try it with the coordinating on top.
Sew fun! ❤️
Fun!
Which foot exactly did you use please?
Will this be demonstrated on both the Longarm and the domestic machine?
Yes it will!
I’m in for this one!
I have't head of that quilting foot before. Can you provide a link to where to find it? I use a Pfaff PowerQuilter 16.

I have the Pfaff PowerQuilter 16 as well. I don't think we have the option to change the hopping foot.
If I am unable to purchase your kit, what size would you recommend that my quilting sandwich be?
Nvm. Just found your answer on somebody else’s question. Lol. Thanks for the challenge. Looking forward to it
Is that special foot universal? I have a Janome 6600. Is this the same as the darning foot?
Amy Humphries yes same thing
I’m soooo excited for this!!!
How much of each fabric do I need if I don’t purchase a kit?

Terrie Olsen thank you 😊 I bought it from a quilt store. But I’m getting the hang of it since I started watching it on you tube.
