Chopard watches take my breath away. I managed to secure a $40k watch for $16k second hand from a reputable dealer in 2020… which is an enormous savings, but still overpriced. At any rate, I love it. I wear it daily. Their quality and service are peak. I’m glad I bought it when I did. Now that I’ve gone off luxury (but can’t seem to stop watching my favorite channels 😂♥️🤦🏽‍♀️), I wouldn’t purchase it today, but I’m so glad I have it.

I love Chopard watches but don't own any. I'm jealous you got the deal you did, sounds great! Yes, it's expensive but you will have it forever and can pass it down in your family. Glad you wear it and enjoy it! 😊

This was such a great watch, Sophie. And you have the excellent taste to recommend very good swaps for the ubiquitous luxury goods we see everywhere. You're one of the only influencers in the luxury category that really seems concerned not only about our budgets, but that we get good quality merchandise for our hard earned money.

I think the Edge kind of spoiled it (although they do still make some of the original Puzzle). I bought mine second hand, I still love it and am so pleased with it. It doesn't bother me that no-one is talking about it, the Puzzle was always a bit of an IYNYK kind of bag, which probably makes me like it even more.

Hi Sophie, love the video! I adore hearts, but have been staying away from Chopard’s happy hearts collection because there have been many horror stories about dirt and bacteria buildup getting trapped between the sapphire crystals where the floating diamond sits. If you get it wet or wear lotion or sunscreen, this becomes a more and more likely possibility from what I’ve heard… and the only way to clean it is have the boutique send it out for a special cleaning. It can’t be done in house. Just thought I would share, because I was super close to buying one of the happy hearts rings!

I'm shocked at the Coach customer service and your bag getting scuffed so quickly. Every Coach bag I've had and my mom had has always worn very well and lasted forever. I've never had to deal with their customer service for repairs tho...I suspect that their in-store service will be better than online. That sucks, I know, but it's worth trying. I also love the Constance but doubt I'll drop the cash for it, so I really appreciate the alternatives you showed. The Celine bag is gorgeous! I used to be a die-hard Coach fan in the 90’s, when the brand specialized in leather and purchases were considered to be investment pieces. It used to be their policy to clean their items, repair or replace damaged items (lifetime warranty). In the early 2000’s everything changed and I became turned off by the brand. I sold or gave away all of my classics, some I wish that I would have kept. So sorry to hear about your experience with Coach.

I don't understand looking at the purchasing behavior of overpriced handbags directly, but I can understand when I look at analogous personal spending habits. I spent $4k on a limited slip differential for a car worth about that much; which on its face is ridiculous- but to me it is worth the enjoyment I get from it. In the end, I suppose money, just like time, is our own personal choice on how and what we spend it on.

Hi, Sophie. It's a shame what Coach did to you! I hope they reach out to you and give you a replacement or some form of compensation. It's tedious how you're going through so many hoops to get a response.
I don't believe you had that bag that long, if I recall correctly. I remember you showing us when you first got it a few months ago! 😮😨
In any case, if you love that bag and there are no replacements and Coach refuses to do anything: I recommend getting an Angelus gray leather paint, Angelus white leather paint, and an Angelus paint brush set (believe me, their brushes do not leave strokes or hairs vs regular brushes 😅). I would play with the paint ratios on a tray or those mini cups you get for condiments, until you get a pigment similar/exact to your bag, and lightly dab it on the scuff. Allow 24 hours to dry before touching. Leave near a window if you want it to dry faster. Of course, I know not everyone is comfortable doing their own repairs. And that's okay! I still think Coach should compensate you somehow. I'm just giving you the option, worst case scenario.

Outlet Coach has gone down. I don't know why they have to cut corners like use pvc on the inside or the bottom of their items and not just use leather all around, even the lower level kind of leather. But if that was from their retail/botique, I'm not going to stop until they do something about it. Anyway, I totally agree, instead of the lady Dior, the Fendi one looks so much more trendy.

    • @christopherfeatherley
      @christopherfeatherley 6 месяцев назад +1

It's kind of a well known thing that outlet stores produce outlet quality/outlet items that are inferior to their retail counterparts. With the economy struggling, and wages rising, it's to be expected for corners to be cut.

I have one of their Blossom bags, and I love the quality. I'd definitely consider this as this is a structured bag, and I'm more into slouchy styles, so the pricetag is more likely to make me go out on a limb, as I really don't know if the style is for me!

You get what you pay for. I have a coach bag that I bought last winter but my expectations are no where near those of my LV bags. I consider Coach bags as “expendable” for following trends (1 -3 yrs of wear) . I consider my LV bags as 20 year classic bags. (I’ve had a speedy in monogram for 17 years)
It depends on your needs, occasions, and disposal income at the time.
Your expectation of the Coach bag & brand exceeds reality as compared to the “luxury” brands.

I really won't buy the love bracelet just because it's so popular 😅 Same for the van Cleef.

The quality of Louis Vuitton went down noticeably around 2021. I can’t justify the current prices for their leather quality and craftmanship.

I also had a bad experience with Coach. I ordered a bag and it arrived without the leather Coach tag thingy on it. I contacted them and was told that basically it was tough and there was nothing they were prepared to do about it. It was shocking how unbothered they were. I have never bought from them again.

Chopard and Vca are produced at the same atelier, I used to work there. No quality there whatsoever. Support your local artisans

I would be careful with the Chopard bracelet. I've heard of many customers complaining about the little heart, storing a lot of humidity with time, and having nightmare stories with Chopard customer service to get it fixed, but it is something that will keep happening. So just do your research, before splurging on that bracelet. I still won't buy a Cartier or VCA bracelet either for their high crazy prices. Regarding Coach, I had to sell my only Coach bag, because after one month, the clasp started to come off and one day, while I was on holiday in Greece, the bad fell down. Gucci, unfortunately, I decided to stop buying from this brand, after I found out about the rule they have that no woman is allowed to be at the top of the company, based on the wishes of Guccio Gucci. So as a woman, I am not supporting this business anymore. One item that was super hyped and I loved and still love is the YSL Sac de Jour. I bought it in different sizes and leather material, only to come to the realisation there are few things that can't work with my lifestyle. It has mainly to do with the opening, no zipper or flap, I can't go out and be caught in the rain and my bag is open to collect all the rain. In the end, when I saw the Mulberry zipped bayswater in the mini size, it solved all my needs. I own it in 2 different colours now, and thinking about adding a new colour. It is the perfect bag for my lifestyle and I have to force myself to not use them that much, and use other bags in my wardrobe as well. I love your approach to money and how you are prioritizing your financial goals for the future and experiences like traveling. I can't wait to see your trip to Asia.

I’ve had amazing customer service from Coach! But always in-store. Bring the bag into a store and they’ll either send it to get fixed or give you a credit if they can’t fix it

I would never settle for an “alternative” or cheaper version of what I want because I KNOW I’m gonna end up getting the ultimate version anyway 😂 i’d rather save up and delay my purchase

100% Fendi Peek-a-boo over the LV Capucines. The LV is do ‘stiff’ looking.

I’m so sorry about your Coach bag. I have many of their bags and have never had any problems including with returns. I know you are careful with your bags and it’s something to keep in mind. The person who prefers to shop in stores has good advice.

I would go into coach. I had an issue with a bag that was after the return date and they replace the bag that had a loose thread no problem and gave me a store credit for the difference. I am in the states so idk if that matters. Hopefully you can get everything sorted out with your bag.

Dear Andrea, I just saw your comment and wanted to say hello, to welcome you and to thank you so much for joining me here 🙏🩷 yes so I’ve always worked for advertising agencies, back in 2015 I decided to quit working for someone else and work for myself instead! I still work in marketing but I predominantly freelance for agencies now, where it’s like I’m employed by them but I’m actually not if that makes sense? Hugs xx🥰🩷

If you buy Constance directly from Hermes you can’t choose the leather and metal colour you want. Not all Hermes bag go up in value.

In this case I think the best way to repair coach bags is to go the the cobbler or leather shop instead. Don't bother with the store because brands like Coach isn't Chanel or Dior where they have special repairs.

Burberry also has terrible customer service. I recently tried to get repair on my Burberry bag (the inside of the bag was peeling off). I took it to the Burberry store, they wanted to send the bag in for a quote of the repair. After waiting for more than three months for a reply, they quoted an insane price like $1800, just to repair the lining in the inside of the bag! It was after all a manufacturing error that it was peeling off and staining the contents of my bag, including my LV wallet!

Regarding the Coach bag, that's utterly horrendous! They should have offered you a new bag or your money back. Thanks for highlighting this as I would now not buy anything from Coach as a result.
