.'get these details out there before I forgot what I actually did.' Haha. Am just like that. Then I can watch my own video back to get the solution
@@IrishChippy :-)
Thanks a lot for the tips with cura, this is my first printer and I had no idea why cura made the printer have errors. But now I definitely know what went wrong. Thanks a lot.
Glad to hear it helped! There's some discussion on Reddit here: www.reddit.com/r/MPMakerUltimate2/ if you have any more questions/comments :-)
So far I only use Prusa and ajustements on the settings and it’s ok but I slow it down to much more to do 😊
What size is the belt that runs across the top
The belt that moves the print head on the x axis reads "S2" - approximately 6mm wide, 1.2mm thick, 2mm pitch.
Awesome, thanks! Trying to decide on a first printer, start cheaper or go for something like this
Thanks for watching! My first was an MP Maker Select Mini, which was also quite good. Lots of support for a beginner given how popular the mini is.
@@JeremyCook Awesome thank you! Does it get hot enough to do filaments like nylon x? Thanks again!
@@bowstobourbon NP! Per the specs found here: www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=36045 it can get up to 250°C (not sure if that's hot enough for what you need), but I've only tried PLA with it so far.
@@bowstobourbon I did an actual review of it here too: ruclips.net/video/5TyGpMrMeL8/видео.html if you want to check that out.
Thanks for this informative video. I will use this later to get mine set up with octopod to.
Could you share what you did to get your computer to recognize the printer? There is little information online regarding this.
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
As far as recognizing the printer, I don't know that I ever connected directly to it if that's what you mean, except possibly for a firmware upgrade.
As far as OctoPrint on the Pi, I may have had to use some sort of Monoprice connection fix plugin, bu that may be in the video.
Hey there. I’m really hoping you can help me out. I finally set up my printer and I keep getting a “homing failure” when I go to do my test print. It hits the side wall and just makes a horrible noise. I can’t find any docs on this and I have not idea what to do. Please help!
Hey Donald, sorry to hear that. I'm not sure, but my guess would be there is something wrong with the switch or switching system that stops it on that axis. Maybe it's not hitting that mechanism correctly.
Jeremy Cook that’s for the reply. Boxed up and have a Replacment being sent. 🤦🏻♂️.
@@donaldj.dallaire1268 May be the best option. Hope #2 works out better for you.
@@donaldj.dallaire1268 Hey, I set up a subreddit for this machine here: www.reddit.com/r/MPMakerUltimate2/ - join if you like!
Hey. Thanks for the video. What about the xmin xmax and ymin ymax under "Printhead Settings" when adding the printer to Cura? I added your start and end code which was helpful
NP, glad it was helpful! Here's a pic of the settings: github.com/JeremySCook/CuraProfile/blob/master/machine-settings2.JPG
@@JeremyCook Thanks for the link. I tried to put in the values you had for the "Printhead Settings" based off that and it always autochanges the min values to negative. Also, I am confused the "autoleveling" feature. Could you shoot me an email and maybe we could just connect real quick and figure this out? I've been trying to get ahold of someone from Monoprice with no luck. tranq006@umn.edu
@@tranqtactical3554 Sure, will email.
@@JeremyCook hey Jeremy. I have the same problem this gentleman is having with my 3d printer. It can't seem to change the x and y min to positive values.
@@oliverscott5786 Hey Oliver, I'm honestly not sure why that would be. I'm using 4.2.1, but I think others are using 4.6.something. You might check if there is an update. I recently updated this: github.com/JeremySCook/CuraProfile if you want to check things out there.
Hi Jeremy - I just upgraded my 3d printer to the Ultimate 2 from the mini vs 2. I'm having some issues setting up cura. I'm running 4.4.1. This printer isn't showing up on the printer options... just "monoprince ulitmate". I'm running on a mac. Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be great. Would love to see your printer settings as well. Thanks!!
Hey Donald! I think you'll have to add a new printer, then put in its stats. You can find my settings here: github.com/JeremySCook/CuraProfile - hopefully that helps. FWIW, the comment before the end G-Gode wasn't in there, but added for clarity.
Amazing! Thank you for the help! Your videos are great.
@@donaldj.dallaire1268 Any time! Glad you enjoy, that means a lot :-)
@@JeremyCook Hi Again ;). I hate to be a pain in the a**... but is there any chance your able to share your full cura print settings with me (Quality, Shell, etc.) ?? I have the G-code all set (THANK YOU for that) but I'm VERY new to all this and we'll take all the help I can get!
@@donaldj.dallaire1268 NP, my settings for one of my profiles should be in that same GitHub repository.
Thanks for the great video! Any idea whats heppening around Cura 4.8, cannot pretty much change the printer settings as seen on some of the comments below. Example on printhead settings it will allow for X and Y -min only negative values. Should those be -20 and -10 then? Thanks for the help in advance.
Thanks! Hmm, looks like I'm using 4.7.1. Perhaps check the start position setting on your Cura profile (see pinned comment)? You could also post on the subreddit found there.
Do you know or have any settings for Abs?
Thanks for watchint! I've only used PLA so far. Perhaps you could ask on Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/MPMakerUltimate2/
Hi Jeremy I'm hoping you still see the comments here the checksum mismatch error has been driving me nuts for weeks and it seems like I finally found the solution with this but I'm not sure why the option for u checking this isnt in my settings running version 1.4.0
Hi, glad you got it figured out. Seems like I had some problems with that early on and selected to ignore soemthing in Octoprint IIRC. You might consider upgrading your firmware though.
The checksum issue is due to a buffer issue. See the last part of this page: github.com/igowerf/monoprice-maker-ultimate-2 -- the buffer needs to be 48.
Thanks!
Homing failed error. So annoying. Don't know how to fix
May not be hitting the homing switches. Possible you have something blocking your travel, or they are out of place or disconnected.
