Hi I'm Wendy a resin artist and crafter.
In this video I am showing you how I made 2 different types of Dragon eggs and how you can do the same.
The mould used is linked below but if the link doesn't work for you I'm sure you will be able to find it via other searches on google.
It is a wonderful addition to any mould user and I am so glad I purchased it.

When I’m gluing my dragon together, I put a piece of clear fishing line in the bottom between the layers, then tie it to a popsicle stick and lay it across the top to hold my dragon where I want it then pour my resin about halfway up, let it cure, then nip my string as close as I can to the dragon and finish filling it up.

I UV resined a small bit of fishing line to the dragon and hung it from a popsicle stick which laid across the top of the egg to center and suspend it. Worked great!

I used that mold and had many fails with a stubborn dragon who constantly fell over....lol...finally I wrapped thin wire around his tail and legs then hooked it over a stir stick...I pour a shallow amount of resin in the mold then put the dragon in and laid the stir stick across the top to support the dragon until the first lot of resin cured. I then took the wire and stir stick off and poured the rest of the resin in....I finally conquered it

I have used fishing line before but on this occasion I thought I would go oh natural 😂😂😂 so people could see the pit falls as well as the bonuses 😀😀😀

Epoxy glue... i was planning uv resin whats your comparison on them foe putting the teo pieces together?
Either will work but for uv resin to cure it needs light to pass through it and if the dragon is a solid colour it will only cure around the edges 😀

I've had this mold sitting on my table for 2 weeks now and I was so intimated by it. Thank you for showing me how lovely it can look and that it's not quite as intimating as I thought it would be. I think this will be my weekend project!

How adorable Wendy, that brought a smile to my face.
When I want to place something in a mould, I secure it with a dab of hot glue to a lollipop stick and brace the stick at the top of the mould. The stick will just pop off easily and you can pick off the glue.

Oh wow that did turn out besutiful. My dad bought me one not sure from where an he chose a blue one but its dark even wen u put it on the light base. Wen i saw the rest of the ones she made the red ones looked better but urs is absolutly beutiful. I do resin an now that u have shown me how easy it is i am gonna try it. Ive tried to paint in a mold but it doesnt do well. I do use the mica for coloring didnt know i could use it like painting. Ty for this makes me happy. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I acquired this mold recently along with a miniature one for necklaces too. I use regular super glue to bind the halves. The larger egg is easy to demold but the tiny one is a bit of a pain to pop out. I do love how they look in chameleon colors.
I don’t have the little one but I bet it’s fun to make 😀💜
Love the baby dragon.... so cute. Have seen someone suspending items in mould by using lollipop sticks and blue tack, works really well. I need to get this mould love it. Cant wait for your next idea Wendy brilliant

Also, for everything I want to make your the one that pops up first so thanks! Also can you please help me make a mold for the 7 d&d dice please? The only molds that are affordable are super tiny, you can even put anything but resin in them through a tiny hole in the top.

They both turned out so cute! I was going to say the same as Patricia Harkin below, about how to place the thing in the mold. You can also use a second lollipop stick perpendicularly so it holds the dragon suspended in the mold and you don't have to pour the top separately. That turned one is AWESOME! But you're right...few of us have the equipment or skill to pull that off. You're lucky and talented!

I'm having a hell of a time with bubbles and I'm doing everything right with heat alcohol etc and the product is something I've used for years but this one's a toughy
Hi there , great idea..
I’m a long time woodturner who started off turning acrylic pens. If you go to you local supplier of Woodturning you will find a Polish for the pens and it will help you get a really good shine on the turned version. Hope that helps
Thank you victor. I now use a buffing wheel with three different compounds and find it polishes beautifully 😀😀 but I didn’t have it at that time of filming 😀😀 and here in the uk where I live… there is one wood turning store that is close to me and it is an hour away 😳😒
Unfortunately the other 3 that are in the country that I know of are hours away. That’s the sad truth of the matter 😥

Love seeing a lady turning on the lathe! My husband got a lathe years ago and has yet to even take it out of the box, let alone use it, although he does other woodworking projects. One of these days I'm going to find someone to teach me how to use it, then get out into the garage and get started! LOL And both your dragon eggs came out so pretty! Love the idea of using the little pebbles top and bottom. :)
