Gosh he’s a well connected songwriter, John Simm in this video, Chris Eccleston in another. I remember hearing Northern Lights a number of years ago and really thought I was hearing something new and original. Then I didn’t hear anything else and forgot about the band but thanks to RUclips, I have found them again.
I love this, a beautiful song and a very moving video. It really brings tears to my eyes. I believe this is the most important thing we can strive for in our lives: that when finally the time comes and we have to leave, the people we touched in our lifetime will be sad to see us go; that they will come together and joyfully share their stories and memories of us. That is what we should all hope for-not wealth, or power. It's a difference we can all make, and one that actually matters.
Helooo Kloot.. I met yous in Basel, Switzerland inn 2005 and iit was a realxin nd icreible night that time, me nd my best friend hung out with the techs of the english band Amplifier and their lovely tourmanager nigel Reville .... glory days. Still listein to yous.
John is and always will be an inspiration for me - he is to me the most perfect man I've ever seen! It's interesting and refreshing to see him in a music video like this. It really made me sad though! But John's adorableness won me over. :)
@@benoakes01 That may be your view of him, but it certainly isn't mine. He stands out greatly to me in his expressions, mannerisms, facial features, the way he moves, the expressiveness with which he delivers his lines etc etc. He's absolutely stunning and dreamy in my eyes!
God, I love this so much. I Am Kloot just does something to me that no other band ever did. I know many songs are ironic and sad, but their music just makes me feel warm inside, and happier. It's a really strange thing, but I love it. Very much looking forward to Paradiso, 12th of March!!
I'm a big fan of melancholy music, and not only did it involve John Simm (very admirable actor 😊) but this song is very good (only just listened to it, so keep up the good work) 😊😄
I've loved 'And The Moon Is A Blind Eye' for absolute ages, but for some reason didn't really check out their other stuff until I heard that John Simm (one of my favourite actors) was going to take part in one of their videos... now I love them. Beautiful song, very moving video. Simm has such an expressive face - he didn't need to say a word, his face said it all. Fabulous. Interesting fact - Christopher Ecclestone did a couple of vids for them too.
Just attended a funeral for one of my partner's friends who died due to domestic violence. She's no longer in pain but all through the service this song was in my head. Hoping she got to see her 3 kids, mum and family and friends see her off...
This just tears your heart out! Got tickets for Festival No6 in September. Thought I'd check a few bands out that are appearing there. Didn't know anything about I am Kloot - What a find!
I used to play this when I was in a duo with John..After we both left The deBuchias... That was nearly 20 years ago - I'm glad its been reurected as its an amazing song... Regards Justin Salmon
GREAT TUNE....pure homage to the beatles (a day in the life).......according to my lugs!! Ps my mucker has played french horn live for these chaps!! Mon the Boaby!!!!! ;)
I've had the song on the brain since first seeing this video... John Simm is awesome, the song is awesome, and so what if it's reminiscent of the Torchwood episode 'Random Shoes' - a fairly common theme I'm sure and done so touchingly here. Brilliant.
I loved this from the off! the first melody line reminded me a little of rainy night in soho -another fantastic song! I'm gonna buy the album on the strenght of this song alone!!
Or both songs got it from "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" (1915) by TS Eliot: For I have known them all already, known them all: Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons, I have measured out my life with coffee spoons; I know the voices dying with a dying fall Beneath the music from a farther room.
It's a pretty hazy memory, but I'm fairly sure this video contributed to me *not* ending my own life a few years ago. It's hard to imagine now what was going through my mind back then. If you ever feel that way, please reach out to someone. You could even reply to this comment and I'll try to reply to you fairly quickly as I get notifications on my phone and stuff. Depression is a disease that can be sorted if you give it time. Cutting that time short doesn't do anyone any favours.
Wow! Eerily touching... Figured out JS's character was the dearly departed when everyone passed him without notice at the church. Was that suppose to be a wee joke, missing one's own funeral? Memorial Repast was lovely.
That opening street looked like Forthlin Road where Paul McCartney lived. And that church looked like St Peter's where Lennon met McCartney. 20 Flight Rock & all that. But it's not really the video locations, it's alright, I'm in the nostalgic time of my life. Eh, I used to have a bike like that lad's. 3 gears and all.
Brilliant, so different to most of the shite that's about these days, really original, I like it. I like when people sing and stay true to their accent, not everyone has to sound like a yank :) Off to look for the album on iTunes.
1st listen to this love northern skys album. This is good aswell. I got some ruff live acoustic tunes on here put in Ross Heathorn merry go round or Ross Heathorn flattery or Ross Heathorn my heart is sure. Be nice to hear your thoughts people x
Because that is totally their fault and not just RUclips making money. And you can turn those ads off you know. Download AdBlock for your browser, or ScrewRUclipsAds. Seriously...
It's absolutely criminal how underated I Am Kloot are, a brilliant band who write fantastic song's & one of them' s from Hyde,my home town. 👍 😎
I totally agree. How come they were ever on Jools Holland.
Agree I always feel the same way about villagers . Some bands just get the worst of managers and promo teams

You guys had the master AND the doctor in your videos! Outstanding
I love this, a beautiful song and a very moving video. It really brings tears to my eyes.

I love his face when he finds out, great acting, so touching. I already loved the song but now that I've seen the video I love it even more.

He' just an average man.. part of his appeal surely

Proper Hydonian accent, great song and another awesome performance from John B and John S, one of my favorite tracks from the Album
Wow, that's a powerful song and film
I always hide and cry to this whenever I feel like it's too much for me to carry on.
Gotta be one of the best British bands of all time

What an amazing video.. i just watched Hold Back The Night and These Days Are Mine.. im now a certified I Am Kloots fan! Good shit!
Wow, what an incredible song!
And the clip just makes it even more amazing, I may have had to wipe away a tear or two.
The song doesn't seem as sad until you watch the incredibly heartbreaking video.
Much love John Simm, much love.

His first attempt at being Harry Saxon failed.
What a lovely song to come home to at the end of the week :)
I am a late comer to Kloot, summer 2019 via spotify. Obviously as a Band they are no more, but my god what a Band.
Same here. Complete convert in one evening.
Through the gales of life and laughter, when you don't know what your after.
this little smile on 2:26 was wonderful ...
Thanks John.
Great to see John Simm in the music video
Beyond beautiful.
Brilliant track and needed an actor of John Simms' quality to just lift this video into the stratosphere. So moving!
I used to play this when I was in a duo with John..After we both left The deBuchias...
That was nearly 20 years ago - I'm glad its been reurected as its an amazing song...

Gorgeous song/video. luv luv luv it.
They referenced a Crash Test Dummies song called Afternoons and Coffeespoons.
Lovely song ..Love the Kloots.

Lovely song... It reminds me of the first Bowie songs... Ciao!
fabulous...in a sad kind of way! love it

It's them monetising their video, so they do have a part to play.
First 40 seconds and favourited :D
This song is so amazing and sad...
Why is this video being blocked in North America? I wanted to post it on my music blog . . . . .
Sad. But in a good way. (If that's possible...)
THIS WAS FILMED IN MY STREET
brilliant... does anyone know what the drama was called please?

Wishing I was him
Jak Madness
John Simm who played The Master in Doctor Who during the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) era!
