    Great improv Jay! Looking forward to your video on the performance of your mounting setup and the Panoptics. Hoping to meet up Saturday but looks a bit chilly for me. You be sporting that Deadliest Catch gear I like to wear shorts lol.

    Hmmm, so you think it's a good idea to place the rcvr into a BLACK, AIRTIGHT box while compressing its heatsinks with foam?

      So far it hasn’t been an issue 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Nick at Navarre kayk is amazing and has some great mods for old town! I love the handle mods and were one of the first ones I bought. That is a nice set-up and I am trying to save up for one of those sniper marine poles had to go with one of the cheaper options for now. Teachers don't make to much so I have to make do.

      100% agree. Nick is a genius with his products!
      And I’m right there with you brother! It’s nice to have the “premium” items, but gotta do it and time it right. If it gets the job done, I’m all about it!
      Thanks for watching brother.

    Nice set up! Where did you get the network cable? I’m struggling trying to find one.

      Thanks! The system came with the network cable included.

    Can you put some wire clamps under the seat and run those wires under the seat to the Head unit and the pole? I love your idea of making it portable but those loose wires are making me nervous lol.

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  8 месяцев назад

      You sure can! Idk if I’d run it that way solely because I don’t want the cables getting under my feet.

    What Garmin unit are u working with?

    Thanks for uploading this. Question - I am very not tech savvy so will mess up. Outside of the actual unit itself is everything you listed in your links what I need to set this up. Happy to click on them so you get the pennies but wanted ot make sure I wasnt missing anything out
    cheers

    What size hole do you need to drill for the yak power port you plug into the power cable?

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  5 месяцев назад +1

      7/8” I believe. It’s on the box which I long lost.

    This is a nice setup! How did you mount the actual fish finder at the front and what brand is that cross bar? Looking to do mine on my 10ft PD kayak since mine is still on ice fishing shuttle. Thank you

      @BeardedDadFishing  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks man! Check out my last video “autopilot mods” I go over the specifics of the crossbar I used and knobs as well. It’s a great accessory.

    What ball mount did you use that mounts right on the handle?

  • @granvillej3316
    @granvillej3316 8 месяцев назад

    Jay I was just watching fluke master in his setup and he has a sniper marine pole and the handle was not on so the way and it fell into the water. He attaches some screw lock glue to the threads have you heard of using that for protecting your investment???

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  8 месяцев назад +1

      Good call! I didn’t do the locktite but I’ll be doing that now just in case. Can’t be losing that handle 😂

    Nuttin like a Dad joke !!
    I have a Hummingbird and was under the impression all I needed was a transducer for live scope , not a box and extra battery!

    • @BeardedDadFishing
      @BeardedDadFishing  8 месяцев назад

      Dad jokes rock!
      You can hook them up to the same battery with no issue, but keeping that option open is what I like.
      Thanks for watching!
