Actually that little latch on the back releases a KEY. if you hold the latch and push the back/top part of the FOB up...the key will come out. This exposes a notch that you can use the key or a screwdriver to press into that releases the back of the fob. Yeah he says there no physical key and doesn't even realize that's what the slider is for. There is a key in the fob. Well a lest he does show where the battery is and how to get to it, I'll give him that.

There is a key for this fob. The latch on back is to pull the key out of the end. If you take the key out of the end take a coin and pop it open

This is not the kind of key fob I have for my 2018 escape. It's the fob with the key that doesn't fold inside. The key stays outside.
