I just installed a Fumoto valve on my 2020 Tacoma and I love it....had them on my last couple vehicles. At first thought, you may assume it's unnecessary since it doesn't take much time to remove a drain plug, but to real benefit to me is the cleanliness of it. I bought the one with the extended nipple, so I can attach a hose to it and run the hose directly into the catch pan, which allows me to drain the oil pan and filter canister at the same time. Easy peasy and no messes, ever. For under $30, it's a no brainer for these trucks.
Can you please tell me the part model number, and where you got it from. Amazon tells me they don’t find the right one for my 2020 Taco. 🤨 Thanks in advance!!

Love the Fumoto valves. Oil goes straight into recycle jug via a tube. No splash back or wind mess. No need to transfer oil from pan into recycle jug. Don’t even need gloves for that part of the oil change!
Holy shit. How have I gone my entire automotive life without knowing about these drain plug replacements? I'm pretty good at the "last quarter turn pushing in and snap your hand out of the way" thing that only gets a few drops on your fingers, but this is actually clean and easy.
Same here. That’s how the dealer does it for my E350 . On the Tacoma I even checked to see how much old oil was left in the pan by pulling the plug. Less than a tablespoon.. I can live with that. If you think the lubies at the dealer wait until every last drop of oil has drained when you bring it in, you are mistaken. They race thru oil and lube jobs. So the way I see it, there is less oil left doing it my way.
I gave you a thumbs up even though a small part of the details were out of focus and difficult to see. The fact that you used a torque wrench made me feel like I would trust you to change my oil. Thus the thumbs up.
I have a canister filter system on the new dumptrucks in the shop. I always clean the filter housing inside and out before installing the new filter, no way I'm leaving it dirty and grimy and just slapping it back in place.
Looks like a cool little device. However, oil plugs generally have a magnetic tip on the end of the screw that draws away the metal impurities that accompanies the typical wear and tear over the engine's life. The oil plug needs a look and wipe off with each oil change.
cris Lopez it doesn't take long at all but Fumoto has been around for a long time and I have used it without any issues. I like it because it drains just as quick and I don't worry about any splatter from the drain pan
@Bruno Gianelli It may not "wear out". But you don't stand a chance of doing something like cross threading or striping. I've had the old Fram drain on my 98 Tacoma since about 9000 miles. I change it every 3000 and it just turned 259.000.
I like this idea a bunch and I'm considering it for my 2020 taco. But my only concern is losing that magnetic drain plug only because of the magnet. Is there any replacement for that?
Seems like a nifty drain plug though I be worried mouse gets up there & mess with it & is able to get it open some how then wind up loosing all the oil or even if the valve fails & starts to leak so guess going to keep the original plug on mine.
Those are very good valves I work for the city and we have them on all of our Garbage trucks and salt spreaders no issues at all i ordered them from amazon for all my cars about 20 each makes things much easier less messy
Esteban Deya yeah I’m pretty sure it does. But I’ve had this valve on my 2012 Jeep for about 80k before I sold it and never any issues, it made oil changes with full skids so much better.
The oil drain plug on the Tacoma doesn't have a magnet. The rear and front differential do have a magnet drain plug though to catch metal particles. I just drained and filled my front and rear diff and it had quite a bit of metal particles from the break in period probably
Taco Twonz did you do a video on draining your front and rear differential fluid? How difficult is it to do? I only have 7k miles on my 2018 Turd Off Road lol

All Toyotas that have a cartridge system use the same oil filter cap wrench including the 2.5 liter four cylinder found in Camrys and RAV4s. The 1.8 liter four cylinder also has a cartridge system but has a smaller oil filter cap and uses a different cap wrench.
Note also that if one wants to change the filter, the Foo needs to be removed for the filter canister tool needed to removed canister.( And don't run your engines to drain the oil. that was a joke.)
