Look, we all got bamboozled by the “glossy” ASUS OLED that turned out to just have a glossy film over it, which yeah, that classic meme won’t fool me again, because this time I made sure to actually use my eyeballs and inspect it thoroughly. Fellas, this is the real deal.
The AORUS FO32U2P is a
Glossy
4K
240Hz
QD OLED Gen 2 gaming monitor
Which means that yes, it will have improved text clarity thanks to the new sub pixel arrangement, and hopefully these gen 2 panels are far more resilient to burn in as Samsung seemed to be implying with their early marketing.
Now as for the rest of the specs, it has a rated peak brightness of 1000 nits and 0.03ms response times that not only looks absolutely incredible thanks in part to its REAL glossy coating which allows for the most crisp image possible, but is also incredibly fast thanks to the outstanding 240Hz refresh rate.

Is the dell / alienware one glossy too
Dell is glossy
Isn't it using gen3 qd-oled panel? Because samsung monitors that revealed last week are and based on the specifications it's pretty much the same product but from Gigabyte.
this monitor has a glossy plastic too lol
Finally! A 4K glossy monitor with a high refresh rate! There is a market for this!
No shit sherlock, just about everyone an his dog wants a 32" clear glass screen OLED, the higher the PPI & refresh rate the better, I' waiting for the 8K RGB-OLED with UHBR160 from TCL.
The data sheet says anti-reflective display. Is the monitor still glossy?
Another thing to note is that HDMI forbids open source implementations of HDMI 2.1, so it is actually impossible to use HDMI 2.1 with a Linux + AMD combo at the moment, I personally needed to buy a DP2 to HDMI 2.1 active adapter
This is the ONE... to rule them ALL (well until they fix that brightness via firmware... lol)

Exciting times. Love the videos. 😎
Waiting on all the final info to decide which ones to buy... seems like this one and the HP Omen are on the shortlist though for now.
Love your channel too!
I already bought the alienware one because I have no self control
😅same but because I am not very financially responsible
I'll get it too. Mainly because it's extremely accurate from the factory, it's very impressive how accurate it is.
The curved screen would've been a dealbreaker for me.
Lmao I love how you brought the tools to their display booth and just ran numbers there. Props to Gigabyte for allowing you to do that, and thanks for having showroom material showing it is FULL glossy! While I do hope they can update firmware at launch or shortly after to increase brightness to 250 nits full field SDR, and 450-600 in 10%, get the 1,000 in 3% like the panel can, everything else makes this THE one to get. Display Port 2.1 UHBR20 port for futrue proofing, FULL GLOSS, $1199 and early release? Hope they make it available on Newegg and not backordered!
i fully agree
Oh wait early release? When is this one coming out?
If it is fully glossy with no dirty film, remains to be seen. But i agree that it looks very clear on this video.
The new Alienware 32" 4K QD OLED model can do the numbers you just listed, although I don't know if it has a glossy finish.
@@selohcinthat Alienware is curved albeit a small one but curved nonetheless.
I hope these QD OLED panels last longer in terms of pixel count since that’s the only issue i have with WOLED.
WOLED is showing dead pixels over time which i think QD OLED should solve since i guess the blue light causes less stress to the panel than the pure white subpixel.
Right now, burn-in is the least of my concerns.
HP Omen is the one since it has both HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.1 and type C inputs on the same monitor. Not sure when it’ll release though. Gigabyte is making a separate non-P model with HDMI 2.1 but only DP 1.4.
Looks like HP cheaped out too, the DP "2.1" on theirs is half of the full 2.1 spec, UHBR10 instead of UHBR20. TFTCentral has the news, maybe we should call this DP 2.05...
Yep, terrible. Gigabyte FO32U2P is the one, now, UHBR20 and HDMI 2.1 and USB-C display inputs@@EfrainMan
@@EfrainMan yup it’s Gigabyte FO32U2P now both UHBR20 80Gbps DP as well as HDMI 2.1 I think 48Gbps per their page
Finally DP 2.1. While 2160P @160Hz 10-bit works now on my LG 32GQ950 with a RTX 4090 there has been problems with flickering and black screens for a long time until recent versions of Nvidias drivers. So yes we DO want DP 2.1!
Please save us from this mess by comparing Alienware/MSI/gigabyte/samsung/asus variant with your trained eye. Also I think DP1.4 is a non issue but needs further testing for 4k 240hz 12bits HDR. Curious about noise too because Alienware has a fan which is better to prevent burn in but it's a deal breaker if it's loud.
How can dp 1.4 push past 144 hz at 4k?

yes please.. i was waiting for this too
@@gavinderulo12 any impact on response time ?
This is my next monitor.
I love that it's glossy. I do like having DP2.1 for future proofing. How accurate are the colors on Gigabyte? The new Alienware 32 OLED color accuracy is at reference level out of the box. DP1.4 but also has USB-C input w/charging.
I don’t believe the Alienware has USB-C input only a data port with basic charge (5-10W)
The HP Omen should have HDMI 2.1, DP 2.1, and USB-C input with 140W charge, but we don’t know what bandwidth yet
It does have 90w charging. And Dolby Vision.
@@Ranguvar13Alienware is matte and curved. This is a no go
The Alienware is matte, really?
@@Sean-fj9pn no, its glossy
wow it looks incredible, I'm on a 30 inch 15 year old Dell monitor and really want to upgrade to ideally a 42 inch but this 32 looks insane. Hope you go over the new Samsung and Lg Oleds when we get more info! Thanks Brother
Love how everytime I check back here there's a new 4k oled that's better than the last.
Next up is the 32" Aliemware, also from ces2024 😂
Think this might be the one for me, hoping that it also doesn't use a fan for cooling.
if they can make a dual mode qd oled glossy i will actually go nuts
It's funny before and during CES when the OLED monitor news starting to come up the question of many gamers is, are they glossy? lol and we're trying to find that little detail in the press release, videos, websites, etc. I don't understand with all that noise, those manufacturers just don't understand and still releasing some of the matte finish gaming monitor. I know it will reduce reflection (with the cost of picture color and vividness mind you), but most gamers I know don't play with lots of direct natural lights. Even most play in the dark to show all RGBs on their PC lol.
this and honestly, if you have you gaming set up sitting with a direct light source, you are doing it wrong
I’m pretty sure all new qd-oleds releasing this year are using gen 3 qd-Oled panels ?
Keep up the good work on informing us about true glossy! It's far superior.
Is gigabyte giving a burn in warranty? And for cooling, active or passive?

3 years with burnin
I'm not sure if it is worth it to get this Gigabyte over the HP Omen monitor which is also coming out this year along with DP 2.1. Especially if there can be some visual artifacts or other issues that can arise from the Gigabyte version of DP 2.1.
Looks like HP cheaped out too, the DP "2.1" on theirs is half of the full 2.1 spec, UHBR10 instead of UHBR20. TFTCentral has the news, maybe we should call this DP 2.05...
@@EfrainMan Yes, I just heard of that recently as well. Its a shame what companies will reduce to just for marketing. Unaware buyers might get the HP monitor thinking it has the full DP 2.1 bandwidth.

You sure it isn’t that purple lack of polarizer layer like all other qd oleds?? Tft central showed that that qd oled coating is actually worse for blacks in light then even the lg olds.
Amazing QD-OLED and True glossy
built-in speakers = the GOAT
How does this compare to the alienware aw3423dw?
I've heard there is severe red tint on the blacks for this QDOLED finish and that there's little difference between this "glossy" finish and anti-glare in terms of clarity, is that true? Sounds like a potential dealbreaker.
Red tint in the blacks (more magenta really) is a actually a feature characteristic innate to QD-OLED technology itself due to its lack of a polarizer, however this tint is *not* emitted from the monitor itself and only presents itself when a lot of ambient light is shining directly onto the screen, when the light is removed the tint and raised blacks go away.
Thus QD-OLED is best suited to dimly lit rooms and it is totally fine, blacks are perfect.
No G-sync available?
Been waiting on your opinions for all these monitors I'm seeing pop up. This one looks great
Just call yourself The Glossy Guy.
That was a good one!!
Been waiting for this one but I am lucky to have a 3080 gpu. And because I'm waiting for the asus oled 4k 32 inc I believe you can turn the 4k off to run 1080 hrtz with big refresh rate. Which would run the 3080 great until the 5 s gpu come out, but not had time to research if its glossy coat...
Any advice from you or your following would be great.
Hope you are all well 😊
My issue with that monitor is that it uses WOLED. I belive in the way QD OLED is designed, that the panel will last longer.
I have a WOLED tv and it’s developing dead pixels around the edges after 4 years of regular use. Burn-in is litterally the least of my concerns.
Maybe the newer MLA tech lineup lasts longer but only time will tell.
anti glare is absolutely criminal
213nits full white?? arent all 32inch 4k oleds are in 250nits range?
im planning to buy this, but if its 213 nits… no thanks.
I will probably not buy this monitor, but it seems to me that this one and the HP Omen are the only 32 inch OLED 4K monitors that are worth the money considering it has all the premium features that in my opinion are required for a monitor with a most likely very high price. All of this is of course, pure speculation, but purely looking at the specs. It seems like there are worth it
Yeah, gonna wait too since I have to spend money on non-PC stuff the comming months lol. But all is good, gives the market some time to mature :D
Does this have passive heatsink or an active one with fans?
Thank you finally a reviewer that prefer the glossy finish. I hope Dough and other start a trend of giving us an option of glossy or gorilla glass. I hated around 2013 all manufacturers shift to matte only displays. I know there's people that prefer matte. But doed everything has to be matte? Give us an option to buy glossy model jeez.
Hp and gigabyte are doing better than, Samsung, asus and dell on the monitor department, I didn't see that coming

I'm so confused. A) wasnt it only Asus woled panel that was matte, while the qd oled version was glossy

C) isnt WOLED better than QD OLED for blacks and burn-in?
Would be perfect if it had usb c power output but still the best one. Let’s see how the firmware fares.
Asus 27" 480hz had a protective film on top of it? Regardless, Asus confirmed that 27" 480hz OLED is glossy. Also, putting a glossy film on top of a matt screen does not improve the image quality because the anti glare still works under a glossy film.

Hoping to main this display for work & play. Coming from an apple thunderbolt display, which is ~400 nits of brightness. think 250 will feel too dull for every day work?
You will get used to it
just get the dell one for 6 reasons: 1- warranty 2-quality 3-realibility 4- I know it has DP 1.4 but you don't need to be worry about that! 100% Dell knows something that they implemented this here,. go to monitor unboxing he explains everything 5- It has dolby atmos which is perfect for HDR content. 6- For console gamers this is the best! has VRR and other supported technology!
what else do you want? just for the stupid 2.1 you want to get something else and sacrifise all these top-noch features? the price is also fair. The features i stated above is for 32 model. 27 model does not support dolby atmos and it is not 4k! but it is still a banger for pc and console gamers(has VRR, HDR etc) as it is 27 and you know what that means!
I bet even the 5090 can't hit more than 120fps without dlss and framegen! maybe it can hit 70fps with rtx enabled and dlss and framegen off, So no worry about the DP 2.1 shit!
*Dolby Vison. Atmos is Audio. which it also supports btw
I heard you have to pick between two versions of this. One with the new Display Port 2.1 or one with a HDMI 2.1. Why can't we have both on it? I game on PC and PS5 as dose many people. It's like they were so close to being perfect.

Also, remember that gamers put themselves in the matte department. Back in 2010-2012 when apple and HP (and business laptops in general) madr glossy displays, gamers screamed for matte displays in order to get rid of glare when gaming. Gaming monitors had a demand for anti glare coating. It is only like 1 - 2 years that this has changed.
I find it so funny how color accuracy used to be a non-priority and anti-glare and refreshrate was the only important thing. I got mocked so many times for wanting a color accurate display in the 2010s. And now gamers want the same as content creators and videophiles like me.
Full circle we are then; I mean we are back to burn in issues just like the good old CRT days. 😅

I am curious how a miniLED with more dimming zones than what is currently available would’ve competed with these. I have the red magic miniLED and other than blooming, which isn’t that noticeable in most situations, and not as good of viewing angles it’s a great display.
