When ure an adult u have money, but not the time and energy to play, which is why many gamers became programmers or tech related stuffs so they can still play with good energy and good amount of time, sad, but this is reality check.

I had a Neo G7 and hated the curve. I couldn't get used to it. The monitor ended up being defective so I returned it for a refund. If it was a flat screen, it would have been a keeper. I use my PC for more than gaming so OLED is out of the question. I don't want to chance burn in. Even though OLEDS are starting to come with a 3 year warranty, 3 years isn't long enough. I think most people keep monitors for longer than that, especially when you are now paying $1000 or more.
Good explanation, I feel the same about curved monitors, I don’t mind ultra wides this way though. I’m looking forward to testing this MSI with everyday work like excel, word and emails, I work on this monitor too so let’s see how long it actually lasts. 👍
In gaming the UI usually stays in one place too which also means more burn in. I usually play in a dark room with very low brightness so this isn’t as big of an issue but for 3 years at $1000 its like $300 a year if it was to get burn in. If you get burn in after your warranty period youre basically cooked.
@@KingBerryBerryJust get a credit card with extra warranty and buy with that. Mine doubles warranties up to 2 extra years so I would get 5 years total.
the NEO G8 currently runs for about $800 at Best Buy in the US, i do not have any problems with the viewing angles , because i sit in front of the Monitor, not on the side of it, hence it does not bother me at all
Hi, thanks for watching, It’s not advisable to judge both monitors via the camera, it’s not accurate and RUclips also compresses the videos too. It’s not to say that you may prefer the image on the Neo G8 though, it’s still a great monitor. 👍🙏
I have big problems with scan lines on my G8 Neo. I do not know if it is the panel, firmware or bad communication between 4080 super and the monitor. But when adaptiva sync and VRR on scan lines apears and when 240 Hz are used instead of 120 Hz it gets even worse. Horrible. Mainly within the blue and orange spectrum are affected.
im looking for a monitor for my ps5 so will be used 95% for gaming and the occasional film these are the same price at the moment also i plan to put the monitor on an arm rather than the included stand and would like to use it for atleast 5 years before i replace would you still recommend the msi over the neo g8? (always used tv for gaming)
Now the MSI has had an update which has rectified the main issues like wake up etc I’d go for the MSI, the flat screen with semi gloss coating beats the G8 to me in picture quality. 👍🤩
OLED is future mini LED is now I have NEO G8 since OCT2022 in price $800 I so happy with it (Maybe NEO G8 is one of the best non-OLED monitor) I hope i will stay on NEO G8 for 2 or 3 year later and then see what next😂
I got to say this is not a bad move at all, the Neo G8 is a great monitor I just couldn’t wait 😂 I am excited about the future of OLED though, I do wonder how far they can go with it. 🙏👍
Oled will be if they can 100% fix the risk of burn in. I cant count the number of times ive fallen asleep in front of the monitor and wake up the next day.

according to your experience, how powerful a GPU does the MSI monitor require? I have RTX 3080 TI, but I'm not sure if it's sufficient to enjoy this monitor :/
I had a RTX 3090ti initially with the Neo G8, it ran the monitor well, games like COD I would have to drop settings down a bit to reach 120fps 4k and also rely heavily on DLSS. I now have a RTX4090 in its place and can reach around 150fps (sometimes more)on the same game without DLSS. I personally believe the monitor makes the biggest impact in a PC setup(visually), I’d upgrade the monitor first and adjust the settings accordingly to suit your current GPU and then upgrade the GPU or PC a year or two later, these monitors should last longer than your GPU cycle and the RTX3080ti is a great card BTW. I feel you should definitely get adequate experience with your GPU. This is just my personal thoughts though. Hope this helps. 🙏
Hi, it does have KVM Switching, it has CEC but not eARC, is does a good job of auto switching inputs but at the moment when it does pixel refresh it turns the monitor off and won’t go back into standby mode which is annoying.
Update! - Standby and HDR issue has now been resolved with a firmware update! 🤩
This is EXACTLY the comparison I needed!
Glad I could help 🙏
Thanks for your review, mate. I'm watching it on my MSI MPG321URX and it's perfect. 😉
I love mine too 🙏👍

2:30 here I found the g8 image quality is more detailed and colourful compared to msi 2:37 why is that ?

Hey, are they also useabel for editing? I am looking for a monitor with at least 120 hz and a good color accuracy
I use mine for editing and it’s fine 👍
you got your spec sheet all jumbled up. You have the Neo G8 listed as QD OLED and the MSI as VA Panel.
Thanks you so much for noticing this, I have edited that part now. 🙏👍
