Albus Dumbledore, as depicted in the Harry Potter books is by far my absolute favourite character ever. It's such a shame Richard Harris didn't live to complete the movies. In the books, when Harry first seen Dumbledore in action, it created this feeling, where you could see the extreme power that he had. Michael Gambon was okay, but he was very physical, so when we seen him spring into action, it wasn't that much of a shock. But if Richard Harris was still in the role, it would've replicated that feeling perfectly to the screen, after watching 3/4 movies of him talking softly and moving slowly. It's such a shame we never got to see him preform that part because he was perfect down to the last tiny detail. When I read the books, and Dumbledore is around, I picture Richard Harris. I can't picture Michael Gambon, talking and acting the way that he does in the book unfortunately
I completely agree! Richard Harris perfectly represented how I always imagined Dumbledore, and I wish we could have seen more of him throughout the series.
@@jackmiles1918 I think that scene would have been much more memorable with him in it, but Gambon also did pretty decent in it. Also a lot of the issues with GoF, the primary one being the whole “Did you put your Name in the GoF” issue most people have, may not have happened if he had been in it. That and a lot of the meetings between Dumbledore and Harry in the last half of the series I feel would have been much more emotionally driven when needed and easier to display their connection. Harris would have worked so well, and was definitely the perfect dumbledore
@@Chris-dh6kg You're right, and I'm not trying to say Gambon was a bad dumbledore. In fact, I'd actually go as far as saying he did an amazing job considering he only read parts of the books to prepare for the Dumbledore role. So it's easy to see why he missed some of the characters mannerisms and speech patterns. But I do think they could've cast a better replacement. But obviously, we would never be fully satisfied with anyone who took over the role. Harris had it nailed down to a tee. The way he would look over his half moon spectacles was my personal favourite. The only thing that was wrong with Harris' dumbledore is the clothing, but obviously that's nothing to do with him. And Michael Gambons outfit was even further from being accurate. It is a shame Ian McKellen didn't accept the role, but I understand and respect to the absolute max the reason he turned it down (Richard Harris didn't rate him as an actor, if you didn't know). It shows that even Ian McKellen knew that Harris was the perfect Dumbledore, so he didn't even attempt to step into his shoes when he knew he wouldn't approve of it
Oooh! I never considered his choice to die as being “For The Greater Good” until now, I really love that connection. he didn’t give up on his philosophy, he changed what it meant
I believe Gellert took an unhealthy interest in Ariana having watched her obscurus qualities whilst living in Godrick's Hollow with his aunt Bathilda. He has the ability to manipulate the innocent and kind-hearted. I believe that he groomed Ariana with friendship (like he seduced her brother Albus) before raping her, which if this theory is true will be referred to as 'defiling' her. The Crimes Of Grindelwald depicted how Mr Lestrange had put women under a spell so they could bear his children. I think GG cast this with Ariana because he wanted to reproduce more Obscurials for the 'Greater Good' in his grand scheme of taking down muggles (remember Ariana had been taunted by muggle boys so a lonely teenaged girl with uncontrollable rage could be convinced to go with his plan). I believe Credence is Ariana and Gellert's son and I don't think Ariana actually died in that 3-way battle with Aberforth. I think it was a ruse to ship Ariana out of the country so she could give birth. I don't think Grindelwald even knew if the baby 🤱 👶 was a boy 👦 or a girl 👧 but assumed that it was a girl because it would have Obscurus powers like it's mother. That's why he thought the Obscurial was Modesty in Fantastic Beasts 1. Both Ariana and Credence had surpassed the life expectancy for an Obscurial and both desperately in need of love and devotion. Also they were both misunderstood to be squibs because they suppressed their magic 🧝♂️. Think about it the entire Dumbledore 'siblings' have "A" names and the 2 older brothers names have AB prominence whereas Aurelias is more similar to Ariana because of the AR prominence. Albus is 20 years than Credence/ Aurelias so even though the phoenix arrived to Credence in the way Fawkes does to Albus; I believe this Dumbledore family 👪 legacy is more to do with them being uncle and nephew rather than brothers especially considering the huge age gap. The way Colin Farrel is with Ezra Miller in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them could be interpreted as creepy but also perhaps like a father showing affection to his son. That's why he got so mad 😡 at the end when he thought 💭 MACUSA killed him. There are queries I want to know with regards to this theory of mine such as whether Ariana is still alive. If so I guess Dumbledore never finds out as he still carried the guilt of her death ☠ in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince 🤴. I also don't think Aberforth knew as well as he held on to deep resentment even after Dumbledore's death. Technical production question - can you increase your output volume? You are always lower than the commercials, so I have to turn you up to hear you, and when a commercial comes on it blows my eardrums out.

Dumbledoor is just as famous and important to the potterverse as Gandalf is to the lord of the rings world. In an alternative reality, I like to imagine that Dumbledoor and Gandalf have not only met and know of eachother, but are good friends who just happen to live in alternative universes or points of time but since they are both magical beings that live very long, I am sure they could have met eachother at some point. They probablly know of magic that allows them to travel across time and space and dimensions, and in one of those dimensions there's a congregation or school of of powerful wizards who share knowledge and help between eachother similar to how different alien races throughout space might do that if that existed for them. Lol
Future here: there's another Dumbledore now, Aurelius. Don't know too much of his back story at this time, but maybe another person from the future can enlighten us when that information is revealed.
It's a fan film on RUclips. Just type it in the search bar. Obviously the effects aren't the best because it was made by a few young fans, but the guys who play the Dumbledore brothers and Grindelwald really look great, very accurate to how they've been described in Canon as youths
My friend bought me Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them yesterday from CEX. I've yet to watch it. As a lover of Harry Potter, I hope that it (Fantastic Beasts) is just as good
It's great if you know the lore of the wizarding world to a certain extent. It's got bad reviews, but I find that a lot of the complaints made about it have all been covered in the books and on pottermore. So I hope it's accessible to you, because you'll love it. Unfortunately the series has suffered due to the criticism of those it isn't as acceptable too
i looove Fantastic Beasts! Its just different bc its adults and not kids at hogwarts. But its the wizarding world and it goes back in time to the 1940's so that part of it is really cool
Can you do a video called "What if Harry Potter was adopted by a Muggle family?" This idea has been bouncing around my head for days and I would like to see it in a video. I still think it would be cool if you did some Percy Jackson videos. If you won't, why not dabble into The Chronicles of Narnia? Just think about it. :)
I mean if Harry was adopted by another muggle family besides the Dursleys. A family that would've loved him and supported him, even when they found out he was a wizard.
Do a video explaining if the two sides voldemort and the death eaters faced off aginst grindelwald and his supporters faced off and who you think would win
Hello @shockwave (sorry dont know your name) but only recently become a Harry Potter nerd with help from your channel! im a huge fan & appreciate all the hard work & effort you put to have created all these amazing videos! A few beers & chat with friends could be a nice addition to the channel perhaps? Let me know what ya think thanks again
So didn't the family move to Godric's hollow "after" Ariana's attack and their father's imprisonment? Thats were Batilda met the family and saw Ariana one time in the garden with Kendra but she was quickly taken inside when Kendra saw Batilda

the last book of harry potter that told about dumbledore past was made me somehow hate him but satisfied at the same time. because dumbledore turn out not saint at all and had done mistakes in his life just like any of us. also, i hate him becuse he always think of greater good too much that he raised harry just to die and nothing have problem with that (and made me like snape than him) but in the other hand, i am happy to see him as 'human'. not some wise old men that never made mistake. when he cried and told harry about his past make his character arc really satisfied me.

Harry Potter Folklore. I have and idea for a very strange what if. I don't even know how you'll be able to do it. But please give it a try. Here it is?. What if Anakin skywalker went to Hogwarts. Like instead of being trained as a jedi. He would be trained as a wizard.
Saying "the Potter universe has stagnated since its end" feels like your personal gripe. The wizarding world has been expanded on a ridiculous amount since the books ended. You can't expect an author to just keep writing stuff over decades for free. I get it you found it hard to keep writing about it and YOUR content stagnated.
it has look at all your favourite harry potter youtuber now they are all making quizes or reviews, finding a fresh new theory is extremely rare face it the contetn has stagnated
He's not entirely wrong though. Not much expansion of the lore has gone on. A little bit yes but not. I assume Secrets of Dumbledore will add more to that. It also doesn't help that JK Rowling got herself into controversy(And there is definitely good reason for her being shunned but her works are still standing on their own).
well the 3rd installment in the fantastic beast series is called secrets of dumbledore so im sure we'll get more information about the family all is not lost 🙃
What if Harry was raised by James and Lily? Let's say James's mother (Euphemia Potter) lives for a few more years and (due to her being terminally ill) she willingly sacrifices herself for her grandson Harry

I wonder if there were Dumbldores other than Percival? Perhaps that went to the New World to get away from Grindelwald.
Wow you’ve done a really good video
Aaaah mate its so good to have HP Folklore back I'm glad that I stuck with you ❤
Aberrforth did have a son in The Secrets of Dumbledore
My boy Dean with another banger 😎
Technical production question - can you increase your output volume? You are always lower than the commercials, so I have to turn you up to hear you, and when a commercial comes on it blows my eardrums out.
and they name it fantastic Beats and secrets of DUMBLEDORE ❣️
Nearly had a cow- thought youtube unsub'ed me from you! It just wasn't suggesting videos on my home screen anymore :( glad to still see some HP content. I'm enjoying the channel and new content too!
Great video, Dean always fun and informative. Great to have you back, I loved this deep dive into Dumbledore, keep up the great work.
Dolores
soon as i saw the notification i clicked it so fast
Bruh same 😂
Awesome 👍 video 👏👍.... Thank you ☺️.... Be safe everyone 😉....
Why was Arriana's painting in the room of requirement???? I need to know.
Welcome back I’ve missed your videos
Missed everyone
Where did you get the clip of the duel? I wasn't aware that it was in anything that had been released yet
Unfortunately the series has suffered due to the criticism of those it isn't as acceptable too
It’s not very good
i looove Fantastic Beasts! Its just different bc its adults and not kids at hogwarts. But its the wizarding world and it goes back in time to the 1940's so that part of it is really cool
I wonder if any new information about the family will be revealed in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
I just came back to the channel after a year or so, when did dean change the channels name from Harry Potter Folklore to Shockwave
Can you do a video called "What if Harry Potter was adopted by a Muggle family?"
This idea has been bouncing around my head for days and I would like to see it in a video.
I still think it would be cool if you did some Percy Jackson videos. If you won't, why not dabble into The Chronicles of Narnia?
Just think about it. :)
Weren’t the Dursley’s already a muggle family??
He was......
I mean if Harry was adopted by another muggle family besides the Dursleys. A family that would've loved him and supported him, even when they found out he was a wizard.
I should've typed "What if Harry was adopted by a Muggle family who weren't the Dursleys?"
I was just thinking it would be nice to create a weekly get together e.g LIVE that we can all get together have a drink & discuss, with you a many wide range of topics & all things Harry Potter?
A few beers & chat with friends could be a nice addition to the channel perhaps?
Let me know what ya think
thanks again
Dean good video man
Please expound upon the relationship of the Dumbledore family with the Phoenix.
🤍 yay, love your videos
He’s the best at the Harry Potter videos, HP Theory has nothing on him
Now we know Aberforth actually has a child :)
Yeah
So didn't the family move to Godric's hollow "after" Ariana's attack and their father's imprisonment? Thats were Batilda met the family and saw Ariana one time in the garden with Kendra but she was quickly taken inside when Kendra saw Batilda
Dean idk if you still have your g.o.t. channel but the prequels are gearing up. If you need content that would be a great start.
This channel has got/asoiaf content included. He released a long Jon Snow video not too long ago that was really good
@@kingofkings3624 yea I watched it lol. I was just trying to help with ideas is all. I hate to see him not make more vids. I've been a fan for a couple years now.
*SPOILER ALERT*
I just watched the new Fantastic Beasts movie, and it turns out Aberforth had a child. So the family isn’t extinct yet!
Yes and no, the child is going to die due to the magic he cannot control its rlly sad 😅
the last book of harry potter that told about dumbledore past was made me somehow hate him but satisfied at the same time. because dumbledore turn out not saint at all and had done mistakes in his life just like any of us. also, i hate him becuse he always think of greater good too much that he raised harry just to die and nothing have problem with that (and made me like snape than him) but in the other hand, i am happy to see him as 'human'. not some wise old men that never made mistake. when he cried and told harry about his past make his character arc really satisfied me.
What movie are the clips from?
Hmm harry potter ????
Witch ones? I thought I had seen all the movies but the clips that are not the gang I have not
@@jayhogan100 Fantastic beast movies
You have such an awesome voice, have you thought about doing voice over work? You'd be great at it.
What about the twist at the end of fantastic beasts 2? Thought that might be included (although I gather it was abit out of nowhere)
I thought they moved to Godrics Hollow after Percival dealt with the 3 muggle boys
Franchise suggestion... walking dead? 😅
I hope all the witches and wizards are okay during this pandemic.
I always had it in my mind it was sexual assault
This Dumbledore family seems cool. Such a shame they weren't in the Harry Potter series.
Did Mary Lou know the truth or was the "wicked evil 😈 🧙♀️ woman 👩" she was referring to was who she believed to be his mother during the drowning accident mix up which would have been Corvos Lestrange's mum? I mean she said woman 👩 and not girl 👧 so maybe she didn't realise his real mum is Ariana Dumbledore.
I really wanna know more about the characters🤔
Did albus say that peverell brothers are darkness wizards?
If I instantly think about just Albus then hearing the name Dumbledore, not necessary after book seven and fantastic beasts.
I love it
Aberforth is the last? I take it you don't believe what Grindelwald said about Creedence, then?
If Aberforth were to get married, who do you think he'd end up with?
This was half-assed at best
You know I really like that your doing more franchises now. I stopped watching cause I had heard all the lore behind Harry potter
Aberforth DID indeed have a son. Aurelius Dumbledore, AKA Credence Barebone.
The background music is distracting
So sad 😞😥😢😔😪💔
I feel like Godrics Hollow is cursed somehow
well the 3rd installment in the fantastic beast series is called secrets of dumbledore so im sure we'll get more information about the family all is not lost 🙃
I still believe Dumbledore is the descendant of Merlin as well as Gandalf
I wish aberforth continued the line
Blade. Please for the love of everything that is Holy do Blade.
You have been doing the fantasy sci-fi relms so well. Ever thought of the fiction reality to help us make sense of fast and furious stiff
HOW IS Credence Barebone A DUMBLEDORE?
What if Harry was raised by James and Lily? Let's say James's mother (Euphemia Potter) lives for a few more years and (due to her being terminally ill) she willingly sacrifices herself for her grandson Harry
This is your last chance if your sponsor is over 60 seconds again you will be banned

If this is the complete history then who's Aurelius Dumbledore?
What if Harry let Remus join the horcrux hunt
Who’s dumbordor
Me
Who’s this guy??
Fantastic Beasts Credence/ Aurelius Dumbledore.....
Why would anybody not like
acually they were not friends they were lovers
Cool
2 mins of adverting before hand kills the mood of the video
Abefort had a son
I thought she was an obscurial.
I can’t wait to see what they do with the Dumbledore family in the next fantastic beast movies. I know most of the history is there already, but seeing how they portray those characters will be interesting.
Yep plus will Brian Dumbledore turn out to be Aurelius father or will it be aberforth
Ok
🤗🤗🤗😚😚😙
nederland
Ok. …
