How I miss seeing the many AirJ birds coming into this airport. There was nothing like it. I remember when they remodeled the MBJ terminals and Air J had about a dozen check-in counters.... It was so great to see. It’s so tragic that AirJ no longer flies. Such a tremendous loss to Jamaica...

Of all the times that I’ve spent in Montego Bay, I’ve only ever seen Runway 25 active once... I’m talking dozens of times hanging out at the end of the runway, by the water, watching planes take off and land. Runway 25 is hardly ever active because of the persistent easterly trade winds that blow almost all the time. I think that sometimes they’ll activate 25 in the evening when the trades slacken, or if a tropical storm/hurricane somewhere in the Caribbean temporarily causes a wind shift over MBJ...
@@restoredignitytoUSA You are correct,25 approach not common but this summer brought a lot of afternoon thunderstorms at the 07 approach and these produce periods of calm or mild south westerly winds like on this day, hopefully you get another chance to see some more 25 action,do have a wonderful day and thanks for watching

The gain in 15 knots refers to an increase in the headwind. Suggests there was a wind shear.
