This can't be the easiest approach because there's a hill along the flight path (2:47) that necessitates a certain altitude, but the runway isn't very long so the plane HAS to touch down on its intended mark. It reminds me a bit of St. Martin's airport in this respect.
The path in had the hills off to the right. The the start of the runway is on a hill and then almost levels off on the other end with the highway. Rumor has it that they plan to extend the runway across the highway, similar to what they have done in Fort Lauderdale.
All of a sudden Ian Flemming airport is in Ocho Rios town in the parish of St Ann's ... its NOT its in Bascobel in the parish of St Mary.. So saying welcome to "Ocho" Rios is miss leading it should welcome to "Bascobel" or the airlines just choosing a Name that the THINK passenger will be familiar with
Flight was full going and coming back. Flights are only Saturday and Wednesday. I wish they had more optoins. Flight a modern Embraer with jets. So much more convenient than flying into MBJ. However the building can't even fit everyone off of the flight. If there was rain it would be an issue.
