What did you think about the record? More breakdowns, more sadboi vibes?
Limousine sounds a lot like sync.wav by moodring
n/A sounds like soda by nothing but thieves
I like both songs a lot, some of my favs on the record, just noticed
PS now that I have watched the vid I think you litteraly read my comment (Among others) on the video lol for 4:08
I didn’t like it that much, but I think I set expectations too high with how good the singles were
I was incredibly hyped when it dropped so I don't really know what to think about it yet but it's different fs
Worst album after AMO 😌🙏🏻
I liked the album. :)
what I love most about this album is the placement of songs and how they transition to one another. The transition from rip to amen is nice and the placement of die4u after puss-e is so funny. “What would you do for puss-e?” “Baby I would die for you”
Also YOUtopia straight into Koolaid seems like a interesting play on the dichotomy of pursuing an actual personal utopia. YOUtopia seems like an optimistic pitch which would lead one into a cult while Koolaid clearly leans into the negative/abusive side of being in a cult, with heavy allusion to the Charles Manson fiasco.
The transition from RIP to Amen is one of the best album song transitions I have ever heard and I love it
BMTH is a world class band but the non-singles on this album are very underwhelming
@@warpten2215 I burst out laughing at that transition the first time I heard it, it fit so perfectly I was astounded.
I love the transitions too
Youtopia is a FANTASTIC start to this album. Sonically it's a great tone setter in what is to come and the chorus is massive. So catchy. The rest of the album is amazing and truly enjoy it
YOUtopia 👌👌👌👌
lyrically as well it really sets up the story of the whole album. with jordan out, it really seems like no one is "holding back" mr. syko from writing about the voices in his head, lee from doing solos, and matt from doing blast beats. this album is literally bring me's YOUtopia.
Youtopia to me is pretty reminiscent of some of their melodic openers of the past like Can You Feel My Heart and Doomed. Also, it just rules. One of the catchiest choruses I’ve heard in years. I know there’s some talk that the opening riff is really derivative of other stuff, and I also thought it sounded kinda familiar but there’s only so many guitar riffs that can be written 😂
@@claytonmitchell5685 doomed is a great call. I really enjoy these types of melodic but anthemic tracks they do with these booming chorus. Just fantastic
Youtopia is easily my favorite from the record, it has a lot of that late 90s Foo Fighters/Deftones sound that I have a soft spot for lol
Nobody’s talking about the random blast beats. It’s the first time we get them since suicide season.
I was about to comment the same. Mat Nichols went hard af this album.
YES. So many blast beats and I loved every single one.
Survival Horror had it in that tiny part in Ludens breakdown but I do think it's much more prominent in Nex Gen
@@ludens1472Also the end of the chorus in Dear Diary
Matt Nichols is the underrated MVP in this album. Since Sempiternal up to amo, he just served the songs. But starting in PHSH up to NexGen, he started to bring back his extreme chops from CYB and Suicide Season.
Amo + post human survival = NeX: GEn and i'm all here for it
Naaah..... I feel like it's it's LITERALLY a mix of every single album they've ever made. Lots of "Music to GO TO" elements as well as their crazy heavy Suicide Season style
@@yylfordt6125I can’t decide which to agree with on this one. I see both. This definitely feels like what Amo should’ve been, but there are also flavors of every BMTH release here and, either way you wanna see it, I’m here for it lmao.
@@dudewhy6953 ikr!? It's so damn crazy good
😂😂😂
Exactly what I've been saying. Amo is my favorite bmth record, and this is just a heavier version of that to me, which I'm in love with
Puss-e was actually made in collaboration with Cynthoni/Sewerslvt
HUH HOW
SO REAL
WAIT REALLY? NO WAY
Holy shit fr!?!??
intro to the album too
i actually enjoyed n/A the most and want more of that from them
Remined me of The Pixies, "Where is my mind" and some other 90's stuff..
n/a is my favorite song and listened to it on repeat for awhile. something about it is amazing, it maybe resonates with older fans that remember the 90s
fr same
Acoustic guitar are still used outside of the 90's lol
Kinda blown away that you don’t dig N/a - my favourite on the album apart from Amen
Same! I think n/a is an instant classic! It's so good
Up
Dude same. I think it’s kinda far away the best song on here. Not that the others are bad at all, but I love that one
n/a and dig it are my 2 favorites. I think it speaks to bmth's versatility that everyone has different favorites
I love how the songs are connected. For example you hear a gunshot at the end of “a bullet w- my name on” and then you hear the casing hit the floor on (spi)ritual. A lot of the other songs are linked too
… and then (spi)ritual continues with a weird cult ritual (pun intended?) that is interrupted by a knock on the door
You know as a huge BMTH i was left wanting more. The singles were absolute gems. Well except for maybe darkside. All the rest of the songs are slow yet catchy. I don’t hate them but like Amen, Lost and Kool-aid had me expecting something like PHSH part 2. Intense head bangers but it was more slow catchy moody songs. I don’t hate it but I was expecting something else. Still tho it’s a fine album. Not my favorite but definitely not my least favorite album
EDIT: lol nvm this album is a huge grower… I love it. Still not my favorite but it really amazing.
100% agree! My favourite songs from the album are the singles! Maybe it will grow on me but I feel for how long this album took, it was a bit of a let down! To me, it felt a bit rushed and messy!
thought the singles apart from darkside were the worst so was pleasantly surprised at the rest of the album. I can't get into anything remotely heavy they put out since Sempiternal, it just sounds like they're past their prime in the heavy genres and trying to be edgy and sounds so generic. One of the things that made BMTH so unique back in the SS/There is a hell days was Oli's voice and he doesn't scream like he used to.
@@jonjino Oli and other great screamers end up having to dial back their screaming or risk permanent damage to their vocal cords. Oli along with Corey Taylor and Chester Bennington did it as their careers progressed and vocal cord tears and surgeries were adding up. Sempiternal was such a golden album and top 3 for me in my Mount Rushmore of albums. Perfect from start to finish.
To me it’s just a massively fun album. It’s chaotic in a beautiful way. It’s one of the catchiest albums I’ve heard in recent memory, and I don’t think there is a single bad chorus on there.
This is a rare case of an album that is an instant hit, it’s insanely catchy from first listen but as time goes on you don’t get this fatigue and instead it opens up in new ways and grows on you
Limousine is stuck in my head!
Big Deftones feels in that one
I can't stop listening
That's why it is my favorite song on the album
Its draggy
Moodring - sync.wav be like
About the gunshot sound effect being the first one on the top of the samples, that's the point. The higher and lowercase letters, "top 10 statues that cried", Rip (Duskcore remix), all these little things are a criticism of media and technology. It's everywhere on the album.
Theres definitely a message here about mental health and media addiction, and what you consume and express in the digital world. One of the lyrics is something like "i found a way to hide, and im addicted to it." Goes for both subtances and media.
"Gen X" 😂
ZOOMERCORE
limousine was the best ‼️‼️
True
All facts no printer.
it has to be my favourite because its the only song that doesnt make me cry
TAKE ME LOW LIKE A BASEMENT
Absolutely overrated af
before the album i've listened to die4u only once when it released and now i can't stop playing it "let me see my halo, even though it's painful" just sounds so.. pleasing? it's pleasant to listen to
i fucking LOVE n/A
agreed
OML SAMEEEEEE LOVE THE WHOLE FR
The reaction stream was gold
Is there anywhere to catch a VOD?
@@daedalus5070 The VOD is on Twitch, but it's like 65-70% muted. Nik said he may try to edit it down some and post here.
Loved the “spicy” O cosplay!
I fully agree that a lot of the tracks that weren't singles felt rushed. Here's my theory on why, I'm not entirely sure why Jordan left or what happened but looking through the credits on the unreleased tracks I don't think a single one of them had Jordans name in them. Even though BMTH has put out a decent amount of content with snippets of songs even going as far as saying some of the songs names while Jordan was still in the band. Yet none of the new songs have Jordan on them nor were the named songs and snippets on the record. Here's where my theory comes into play for whatever reason whether that be bad blood or the fans reaction to Jordan leaving (everyone glizzy globbing saying BMTH was Jordan and he made them successful blah blah) either way it seems to me like there was a direction chosen within the band to do the rest of the record without him. With him leaving about 4 months ago I think they scrapped everything fully tied to him and took it a different direction. This happening only a couple of months ago and then a lot of the album feeling rushed idk maybe I'm reaching but that's what it feels like to me.
I really like this record, but I agree that some of the songs feel really rushed which makes me wonder, if they actually scratched most of the songs when they cancelled the release back in September.
Die4U doesn't really fit on this record cause you can hear that they changed their style massively since it's been released back in 2021.
The last song reminds me of 'i don't know what to say' from amo having the same record ending vibe. And when I was looking at the lyrics I was also like damn, is Oli okay?
I agree that DiE4u doesn’t fit at all. When I was first listening to the album in full, the whole thing was a vibe until DiE4u showed up and I was kinda taken out of the experience. It’s been so long since it came out I had honestly forgotten it existed lol
I personally love the Pusse transition into die. “What would you do for pusse?”
“You know that I’d die for, I’d cry for.”
Pusseeee
But is dig it referring to the grave or life? Cause "Dig It" can mean he loves it XD
There are many things in this album and for me this is a really good one : heavy saturated riffs, melodic choruses, even some acoustic sounds, breakdowns (a bullet w/ my name of is pretty cool)... And also interesting way to use growls or blasts, important to notice. I also underlight the mixing of this album that is phenomenal.
It’s very 2000s emo. It’s not bad.
Limousine elevated me and I never came down ❤
Icl n/a fucking bops and the fact im on there makes it 100% better
Bro we got BMTH, Slaughter to prevail, Knocked Loose, Falling in reverse and we're getting Bad Omens at the end of the month
EC/Babymetal as well
i waited more for this than for the album
This album went crazy
they gassed this album up for years and its not living it up
The start of N/a is almost the same as kill somebody- yungblud. Kinda cool seen as they’ve collabed a couple times
0:08 "Gen X"?
My personal favourite track on the album (outside of the singles) is YOUtopia. It hits my emotions so hard and especially the bridge of the song, it just makes me wanna burst out into tears but in a good way!
this was my first livestream experience, and im so glad
Dig It ends with that robotic message because it's in ARG BMTH created, you have to check it out, there's 6 new instrumentals on there (so far because it's not solved yet)
3:56 Deftones The Horizon
Bring Me The Deftones
Deft Horizon
Bring The Tones
Bring Me The Chino.
Moodring Me The Deftones
So glad you didn't say Deaf Horizon
@@brandoncastro6731 Chino the horizon
It's just a Moodring rip off.
Loving limousine and n/a for new tracks.. had it on repeat and still hearing new bits each time
I can't stop listening to Youtopia. I love the album.
LosT sounds like the first lego legends of chima opening
Based on this video, I can't tell if this is a real band or just a cover band. lol.
N/A reminds me of Hollywood Undead’s “Bullet”. It’s kind of a bop
Dig It was ALMOST perfect. Glitching out the most cathartic part of the last song on the album is unforgivable though. Just makes me want to listen to any end of album Periphery song.
Well, in my opinion the glitching added so much to that catharsis. It's not only a huge production flex but It was as if the desperation was so much that not even the song could take it, and it just falls apart and crashes like an overloaded software. That and i have adhd so i love me some sensory overload and the whole album gave me precisely that so i love it lol
@@strigers8007 You can do that without interrupting the height of Oli’s scream at the heaviest part of the song. Like imagine Periphery just stuttering Satellite when Spencer hits an F# just for vibes or whatever lore they want for the album. It sucks because it more serves the vibe for the album than actually serve the song itself.
@jcole9055 I understand it is difficult to appreciate the type of shenanigans some artists can pull off when trying to send their message, but I personally love those shenanigans when well executed (which is subjective really). Of course a song's flow is important, but I also think about what the bigger picture is trying to say with it's ways and take it to consideration when making my opinion, not just "it's bad cause I don't like it."
I'm not discrediting your view though. I understand it and respect how it can be anti climatic to have that dramatic moment in a song cut off out of artist shenanigans. I'm just describing MY personal view. I love dig it because it is emotional and mixes their metal and electronica so well and the glitching to me is what makes it special. If there wasn't glitching it probably wouldn't be my favorite song of the whole album. It just works to me. It might cut off your heaviness but honestly i don't care about the heaviness, I care about the feel beyond just that.
@@strigers8007 lmao chill a bit on the condescension, kid. I completely understand the weird stuff artists do, like Veil’s last album, or ST, or Bilmuri - weird stuff sometimes. Point is the weird stuff is in service of the song, in this case it was not. It was to the gimmick of Eve and the tech-y emo vibes of the album. When they play it live they’re not going to be cutting out Oli’s vocals but, probably would glitch the guitars - which would be fine.
i actually like the glitching in that stuff at the end, i don't feel that it's random at all. You can just feel the heaviness of the emotion of the lyrics with the glitching.
Olie talking about taking his own life since the beginning: ...
Nik hearing Dig It: Does Olie need a hug?
Also I would love to see Nik become the metal version of Fantano. These album reviews are AWESOME
Ya, except fantano is a complete douchebag and toolshed.
Fantano has the balls to not like things. The guy is too scared of losing interview priviliges to ever say negative things.
I managed to catch some of your twitch stream of when the album released and you were just in hysterics and crying when Puss-E came on 😂 you were like I’m way too drunk to understand what’s going on here 😂 glad to see a full review of this album from you now ! I’m always interested to know your thoughts on BMTH as they’re one of my all time favourites and it’s interesting to see how people react to their ever changing sound, I’ve been a fan since count your blessings back in college and I’ve loved everything they’ve ever done since no matter how different ! Wonder what the next post human will be like ?
this shit is so fucking cool and unique, mixing the old scene emo style with newer elements of hyperpop/digicore just works so well. would be cool to see someone like shinigami work with them one day
Surprised no vid on KOD by STP
10 statues has polyphi a vibes
When the new Sabaton and trivium albums come out respectively, will you give reviews?
I love the reference to their first EP in YOUtopia with the line “Nobody wants flowers when their dead”
I listen to this album delay ever since it came out! This is the first album I have been present for since I got into BMTH! My favourite songs off the record are liMoSiNe, RIP, and YOUTopia 🤘🏾🔥
Not that many more heavy moments, but I *really* like these heavy screams sprinkled in the background like in Top 10 Statues, Darkside or Bullet with my Name on. Gives me Linkin Park vibes at times.
I have waited 4 years for this, and it if everything I wanted from bmth and then some
I think limousine sounds like bmth and also like deftones. To me, that's like the perfect example of taking intentional inspiration, influence from something/someone. Also it perfectly fits the 2000s vibe of the album, 10/10.
I'm surprised Dig It isn't talked about more but damn, that track is my favorite off the album! Incredible production with that trap RL Grimes vibes 🙌
i’m not gonna lie, maybe not exactly what i was expecting for the hype and wait length, but an overall great listen, might need to listen more to truly appreciate it
Wait until you notice that the last 2 minutes of the album closer is actually a QRcode. The visualization of the wave form is a QRcode that link to a website.

New Capstan album too! Would love to see a review of that concept album, or at least some of the new songs
n/a is by far the best!!
Hits so hard in the feels as an ex-addict
YEAAAAA I'm glad to hear that Nik personals favorite is one of mine too, a bullet with my name on is such a banger man
Bring Me the Horizon dropped a genre-bending surprise last week with POST HUMAN: NeX GEn. This album throws everything into the mix - emo, pop-punk, hyper-pop, post-hardcore, and even metalcore - and the musical blend works. If you're a fan of electronic rock and metal with an experimental edge, then NeX GEn is guaranteed to blow your mind.
And there is a hidden link to more tracks at the end of Dig it, the glitch is a QR code to a website and like the Ai is explaining what to do the hear the extra tracks!
These are not songs but just cool extras
About to see BMTH in july and I REALLY HYPE to hear some of these live
DIg It really felt like a Magnum Opus of the past 3 records all into one beautiful album ender. Just a masterful BMTH track that honestly put a tear in my eye.
N/A reminds me so much of “where is my mind” by the pixies
Like deadass, best part of this album for me was listening to all the previously released singles 🤣
real
N/A is post-Pixies, Limosine post-Deaf Tones, and Youtopia post-Smashing Pumpkins... I'm 100% with hearing the music I grew up with turned into the music I fck with
An unexpected throwback to so many 2000’s genres I loved as a kid.
people are comparing limousine to sync.wav more than black_wave. if you listen to moodring then you know they've cultivated their own sound and lane outside of the deftones influence, and BMTH def copied on both limousine and kool-aid. oli even had their music in one of his playlists.
black_wave was copied more on kool-aid, listen to both breakdowns for yourself it's exactly the same.
Youtopia gives me Finch/ the used vibes, around that era and that makes me smile ear to ear
Limousine!!!! Now I hope Aurora collabs with her fave band Gojira
Dig It was probably my favorite on the album. Welp i guess im depressed
Absolutely 💯
Yeah can relate
Puss-e was surprising. I didn't expect them to get Jvne (Sewerslvt, cynthoni) to help produce something.
I love how they snuck the voice for sans in undertale for r.i.p.
I love the fact that they have put elements of different bands and also the emo factors but also they are bring me the horizon and its the the " you know its a bring me the horizon '...i bet some of this stuff will go down amazing when its live..but the last track DIG IT is my fave ...but my own fave out of all thier stuff is blessed with a curse..and follow you...🎶🖤🎶
It's funny that they have two songs with almost the same name as Blind Channel 🥰 BC also has Dark side and they have a song called "A bullet with your name on it" so it's almost A bullet with my name on 😂 My favourite song on the album atm is Limousine 'cause it tickels my soul 🖤
I think Survival Horror is the better record overall but I think Nex Gen is better structurally. It really feels like there's a story being told here so even if some of the tracks are more lackluster on their own they feel larger in reference to the whole. I didn't really care for N/A but it just feels that the album calls for a song with that energy. And strong tracks like RIP fading into AMEN! makes them feel even bigger
Pusse at a concert as an intro or something like that, cant wait to hear it, think its perfect for that
YOUtopia intro riff hits so f-in hard for no reason, like I launched the album and this riff blasted me. I love it.
n/A is easily my favorite song on the record. Hands down
1:23 Yes I feel old, even as a Gen Z.
The PS2 was my fucking LIFE as a kid Nik, oh and the album is sick as shit.
This album put me one to BMTH and I have to say I'm a fan now
Underoath Reinventing your exit was my fav. 😂
the flatout 2 game song
Does anyone else hear the deku palace theme from legend of zelda majoras mask in darkside intro?
Does anyone else think that “Lost” sounds like 30 Seconds to Mars?
I wish this album was a bit closer to the last post human EP. I like Amen, Koolaid, Dig it, Limousine and bullet with my name. But there is a lot of skippable songs in between.
anyone else feels n/A has a lotta ronnie radke references like the "voices in my head" line
Nah, homie. "n/A" is a next-level "Brain Stew" with sneaky "Where Is My Mind?" vibes. Killer song.
1 view in 0.1 seconds bro fell off
These are some of the most unoriginal and brain rotted comments. Right up there with “First.”
Shut.
I had around 15 views in 2-3 seconds when I fell off....
A 25-30ft cliff, flipped twice in the air before landing on the rocky slope below, fracturing/sheering off part of the head of my right fibula, then continuing my hike and having a barbecue. Then hiking back to my car.
Boy were they horrified.
Where are all the songs reactions?
Maaan it’s so hard to pick a favorite record.. I really love Kool Aid and Amen cause they slap. I also love Limousine and n/A cause they be vibing.. it’s just a great album overall 😂
This album is bad...
Ass
I wasn't a fan on the first listen but the more I listen to it the more I like it.
This is like an anime openings compilation.
Why is nobody talking about Dark side?! Fucking love the vocals in that song!!!
Deftones is what I thought immmmediately. Also some perfect circle or tool in some of the songs
My favorite song on the album is n/A! I know it’s a weird choice, but I love the way he touches on addiction and depression. The chorus is comical, yet very accurate to the thoughts you can have suffering with major depression. Each listen leaves me caught between laughing and feeling upset. As a lyricist myself, I find it genius the way he was able to write something that could invoke polar opposite feelings depending on the state of mind your in listening to it. 10/10 for me lol.
13:05 "take a shot every time he says SYNTHETIC" killed me
Put Dig It into RX and watch the frequencies in the last few seconds
Nik is "the perfect smoky eye" personified
Although both are technically singles, my favs are LosT and Kool-Aid
