That was The Deep's turning point in my mind. Got a taste of what he put women through, and responded by reflecting on himself and the body issues that motivated it all, and tried to overcome it.
I love that scene of Homelander and the doctor, it was so emotional, from that you can see how sadly it's not his fault if now he's a pyschopath, and that's disturbing how can this can happen in real life, the fact that you can make a person a pyschopath

He seems to have the mind of a child but acts like a brainwashed fanatic, following Vought's and Homelander's orders without ever questioning them (which makes him rather pitiful). Also, the whole focus on The Deep is not to justify his horrible actions (you tube won't let me say the r word) towards Starlight but to show that a culture of demeaning toxic masculinity (The Deep is constantly mocked by the rest of the Seven, an he probably was mocked as kid too because of his gills) can push men to seek to feel "powerful" in horrible ways.
