"He's just walking like Jason Voorhies, or what?" - Exactly. I love how in that particular scene, Butcher is clearly framed as the bad guy. He's the monster in this scene, slowly stalking his victim. This was the moment where I realized that even if Butcher is not a straight up villain - he is NOT a "good guy". There's a lot of parallels between Butcher and Homelander in this show.
Antony Starr has said that part of his approach to Homelander is to portray him as someone who sees himself as a father figure to the other members of the Seven. Homelander thinks they’re like children who require his firm guidance and discipline.
Anthony Starr is an absolute menace of an actor. His ability to channel in a complete psycho like that is literally bone chilling. And it makes me so happy as a kiwi that him and Karl Urban (Butcher) are played by New Zealand actors
When Homelander pokes fun at Butcher’s accent it’s extra layered because both actors are actually New Zealanders but Anthony Starr has to put on an American accent to play that red white and blue weirdo. If you see him in an interview he sounds like Butcher.
They mentioned that Superman turned out the way he did becasue he was raised by two moral, caring parents. Another reason is that Superman sees himself as Clark Kent. Homelander told Annie in Episode 2 that he gave up his secret idenitity some time ago. There was a Superman comic shortly after John Byrne relaunched the character that an aide of Lex Luthor used computer analysis and came to the conclusion that he was Clark Kent. Luther reaction was to disregard that conclusion because he felt that anyone that powerful would not have a need to "pretend" to be human.

All 3 seasons have been released with 2 or 3 episodes initially, then once a week for the rest. Amazon does this with the shows they really want to promote. I like to think of Season one as an appetizer to The Boys because things get much spicier and more complex in subsequent seasons.
Why do people think that Butcher can say anything he wants to anybody, but as soon as someone calls him on his crap it's over the line? Hughie calling out Butcher on his discrimination towards Starlight was not over the line.
It's not about that. It's just that hughie should've known better, especially after hearing butcher's story. Also,butcher and homelander are basically the same with only a few differences to separate butcher from homelander,not so many but a couple,and this remains throughout the entirety of all the 3 seasons.

I think the reason you are so uncomfortable with the gill thing is that The Deep was being violated, assaulted just as he violated and assaulted Starlight. It always kind of surprises me the way so many reactors rather gloss over Becca's dishevelled, distressed and agitated state leaving the flat and her subsequent action, and just assume it was consensual and Becca was cheating on her husband.

Im not sure if anyone else picked up on this but Dr. Vogelbaum is the voice actor for Caesar in Fallout New Vegas! Thats one of my favorite games it was a very neat little surprise.
That airport does remind me of one out in Maine, it was either Bangor or the one closer to bar harbor. Place was small and grimy. Looked like it hadn’t been renovated since the 70-80s and had used needles / needle disposal in the bathroom (all for harm reduction, but still crazy to see at an airport imo).

Just some basic info that will help with Supes. Almost all Supes are bulletproof and have some degree of enhanced strength. The mesmer is the only one that didn't seem to have anything other than his mindreading.
