Guys I’m glad you’re doing Eluveitie, one of my favorite bands, but this is the old line up. With the Amazing Anna Murphy here on herdy and vocals. Please do Rebirth the first song from the current incarnation of the band. Its very bitter sweet I was at the last show of this line up at a festival in Holland. I miss Anna but the new female singer is absolutely amazing and if I’m honest more gifted a singer

Oh wow, I really like this, it was a first time for me as well hearing this band. Her voice reminds me of Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation, a Dutch symphonic metal band. Worth checking out. Love you as always. 🫶🤘🇳🇱

Lead singer, Hurdy-Gurdy and flute player Anna Murphy on this track left the band and formed 'Cellar Darling' in 2016. Check out Cellar Darling's 'Black Moon' where Anna does a great electric Hurdy-Gurdy solo and guitar duet.

Eluveitie was founded in 2002 by Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann as a solo project. The mixture of death growls and folk resonates and he turns it into a band. The list of former members is long, for various reasons. Anna Murphy was the first longer engaged singer. In 2016, in the middle of recording a new album, there was a dispute. Anna and two other members leave the band and form Cellar Darling:
Much as I love Nightwish, I love Eluveitie more. Just as with Nightwish there are fan favourites in the singers. I prefer Epona over this track for their softer tracks. Rebirth or King are popular with a harsher vibe. The two recent releases Aidus and Exile of the Gods are highly recommended for a watch. Your drummer might appreciate the video version of Aidus you can find on the drummers (Alain Ackermann) RUclips channel where the drum mix is brought up in the mix.
Interesting. Never heard of these guys before, but nice to see a Swiss band! Mum's family are Swiss and I have quite a fondness for the country : )
Eluveitie are from Switzerland and they Describe them self as a new wave of folk metal hence the instruments. 👍🤘🤘

Interesting comment about war in their backyard, no they are Swiss. This song was part of An entire record about the war between Ancient Rome and Cletic/Germanic tribes in Central Europe. Some of their songs are in Gaulish, a dead language of the ancient Gaulish tribes modern eastern France western Germany. They are rooted in Celtic myth and pre Christian era of Europe. In celtic mythology Epona is the Goddess who protects horses.
Has nothing to do with this song, but I came across Tarja singing Sleeping Sun with Steve "N" Seagulls. They are a sorta bluegrass band from Northern Europe sorta serious sorta comedy band. This was insane.
I just discovered your channel and I'm really happy to see you discovered Eluveitie. You need to hear some of their newer stuff too. Song like Rebirth, Aidus and Exile of the Gods are all amazing.
