Getting ready for Dyno Day - Suzuki Bandit Cafe Racer - ASBO Project

- Dyno Day for the Suzuki Bandit Cafe Racer is Tuesday, and I have a few things to get done before we're ready for it. Less is more, so It's going to be the bare bones of a bike.
SOMEBODY IS GOING TO WIN ASBO - That's right, somebody who supports the QuickBikes channel and the bikes I'm building is going to be the proud owner of a completely custom built Suzuki Bandit Cafe Racer once it's finished. I'm giving away ASBO to celebrate hitting the 10,000 subs mark to somebody who supports the channel.
To stand a chance of winning the bike once its finished, simply donate £10 to the channel using the PayPal link - www.paypal.com...
Where it says "What's this payment for?", enter "Supporting the channel". That way I know what the payment is for and I can make sure your name goes in my hat.
You can donate as much as you like and each £10 donation to the channel will get you another chance to win the bike as you're supporting us that much more.
If the winner is not in the UK, I can crate it up etc, but the shipping will be their responsibility. If you're in the UK, we'll be able to arrange something.
Please, please, please like and share this video as it will be setting the budget to finish the bike and hopefully raise some additional funds so I can include some spanky bits in the build. The bigger the budget, the better the bike you might end up with.

I know, but the Bluetooth side of things give you loads of extra functionality that the Bandit never had. When it works properly... 🤣😂😅

I read some where that modern clutch plate don't require soaking due to them being composite and not cork like the old ones. I personally would soak them . Bike sounds like a Motogp and is way loader than 100 db.
I've heard that as well, but considering it'll spend it's life in an oil bath, it can't hurt 😁

Just watching, surely the seal at the top will eliminate any fuel seeping through? The threads are there to create the tension on the seal and not to stop fuel flowing down the threads themselves?
It would be nice if the whole thing fitted properly though... In my mind anyways. Otherwise you're just taking up all the slack on quite a small portion of the threads. More thread engagement is just strongerer... 👍
Security of the phone not sending something that the M-unit relies?
Possibly... I've sent a question thingy to Motogadget, so we'll see what help they offer and how quick they are as well 😁👍

No matey, I'm afraid not. GIXIT was the first one and this is the second, both Bandit based 😁

Motogadget have got a compatibility list for phones online. Long shot but might help. The fact there is a list like this is an argument for having a manual backup switch. Or even a key!! I’ve got one of those things because I don’t trust Bluetooth (or phone batteries)

I just checked it says my phones are compatible !! It could be a firmware thing on the m unit, but I'm still waiting to hear back from them...

Oh Boy! do I love that pipe!!!!....I bet you could sell that "system" for big bucks *and I. belive you would be covered over with orders!!..I think your starting problem is a "parasitic draw"..which never completely turns the "M unit":off...put a test light in series with the positive and then the ground cables, off the batt. If the light stays on, you have a draw. It will probably be in the ignition, or charging circut...Coil not wired right, CD unit miswired , missing ground, etc...call M unit folks, it's probably a common issue..Well you certainly have built a beautiful bike!!!...👍👍👍🗽🇺🇸
It's just annoying that the Bluetooth bit doesn't work though hey 🤣😂

I've found that some phones can't reliably measure above 85 to 90 db. Also the 'real' meters have a standardized frequency curve that they use, and the measurement is sometimes an average over a period of time. The IVA book will have the details of the standards that apply.
I'll see if Crispy has got a proper meter as it would be good to know. Failing that I'll ask Simon Rolls to bring his with him next he comes down 👍😁

Regarding Bluetooth to M-unit, have you thought about pairing your laptop to the M- unit, just to see if its any different?

Hey buddy, what phone are you using to pair the m unit? Samsung or iPhone? If it’s an iPhone I had trouble pairing it I sent a message to the company only to be told that it won’t work with iPhone after the iOS update “there trying to fix it”
I'm on Android matey. I've got a Samsung S21 and a Google Pixel 7 I can use 😁👍

Lovely work there exhaust looks and sound spot on. As for the m unit before you took the circuit breaker off it was was.you pressed the button twice to check lights on dash.
That's the way it is now matey... With 12v to the m unit, everything is live but I don't have a Bluetooth connection to it via my phone. Annoying init 🤣😂
@@QuickBikes it is pal. I have seen a few classic octane videos and he always presses the horn button when he changes things. But I am still looking to get one for mine .

the m unit because your pulling the fuse to stop it are you sure you don't have to re pair the bluetooth after the m unit has been unplugged. just a serving suggestion. your free to swear at me if you've already tried it
I don't believe so, but I can try it. If I turn the Bluetooth off on my phone, the light on the m unit stops flashing. Turn it on again and the light start flashing, so it must be seeing it somehow. The manual does talk about activating Keyless through the app, but the app says there's no Bluetooth connection... Weird huh .. 🤔

The bike sounds awesome. Do you not need a mo.lock to make the Bluetooth starting work? If not, I've just spent loads of money for nothing lol.
Hehehe... I don't believe so dude... You have to supply 12v to the lock port on the M Unit so you can pair it first time round which you can do with a regular ignition switch or in our case the RCD, but after that you don't need it...
