Thanks for watching, haven’t tried that before. We can’t confidently determine whether or not it will still allow water to flow out in an efficient way however if we had to guess, it’s probably ok…🤔 Keep us posted.
No, mine didn’t. The house was built in 1965. I had to drill out mortar between bricks to insert weep holes. The newer houses are more likely to have weep holes, due to code requirements and more understanding of the dangers of mold building up inside damp walls.
@@leeb.7188 OH i see. ive been looking at homes for sale in Indiana because i want to move out of Vegas and i see a lot are brick thats why i was wondering about this and i guess have to check the house then to see if they have them already in .. Tks. ~
@@joedevitto6113 : I also had a house for awhile that had small holes in it that looked like drill holes. I was thinking I should caulk them, to keep bugs out, until I noticed while I was sitting in a drive-thru line that commercial buildings had the same thing. So now I’m thinking that they were put there intentionally as weep holes.
@@leeb.7188 Im thinking too even with these metal things bugs can still get in maybe nothing big .. i do like a brick house no painting or maybe just the trim
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders thanks so scorpions may get inside. We’re seeing lots of scorpions in house so wondering where they can get inside. Do you have any recommendations to keep scorpions free home?

@@joedevitto6113 : I agree. They’ll keep mice out but not bugs. Maybe need to stuff them with some kind of rust-proof stainless steel fabric.
Can this cover really stop scorpions to enter through weep holes??
Thanks for watching, a full grown scorpion will have a very interesting time getting through.
But there are many sizes of scorpions.

Thanks for the reply, how big are scorpion’s? If larger than…say a golf ball…it will be impossible for them to sneak through screens.
What’s a weep holes purpose?
Brick is porous. The weep hole allows any moisture that has built up in the wall to weep out, so you don’t get mold in your walls.
@@leeb.7188 that makes sense. Thanks for the response! 🙏
