U do some quality work Chris. Thoroughly enjoy watching your channel. Good to see someone who actually takes pride in what they do. There isn't to many that give a shit about quality. Take care and all the best.👍
This is the first VLOG of seen of yours Chris, and I’ve got say, what a pleasure it is to see a skilled brickie at work👍 You make it look so easy and brickwork and fence panels look real smart 👏 On to Part 2 for me now.
The found being off a bit to give a heavy bed starting off is very common if u do alot of brickwork no big deal since the heavy bed is used to keep the wall level, we are so lucky that the experts here have pointed it out haha, just another day on the trowel
Love all your work including the listed 300 year old barn, the only gripe i have is with a few of your vids. Intro & incidental music can be a 'bit loud' in comparison to your running commentary, hope this helps. Carry on with the good work.
Lovely solid wall that Chris. Full credit mate. Wasn't expecting those wooden panels. Really sets it off. How do you deal with mortar stains on the blue headers.
I used a makeshift canopy to keep the rain off...Don't use mortar that's to wet, I use a double strength plasticiser "Opti-Mix" this air rates the mortar and doesn't let the mortar bleed out over the bricks

Sure is some pretty work, Sir. That's some proper mud, too. Like ice cream 🍦
You got that right!
Your poor back! Great work/video, thanks.
I bet that brick on edge was a mare to point ! Empty joints , dropping through when pointing.
Good guy enjoyable to watch

Looks great!!
very helpful thanks mate, going to be attempting this myself soon
WD40 and a sponge always cleans up engineering bricks 👍👍tidy work
Thanks for the video. Well done. What footings would i need for a 6-foot garden wall?

Nice work
Good work Chris are you from Stoke on Trent?
Yes I am!
Beautiful work. Could you tell us about the cost?
As a ballpark estimate Approx £100 per foot that includes JCB hire, skips, materials and labour!
Nice job.
Thanks!
good job chris where did you learn to do brickwork
A local building firm
Lovely solid wall that Chris. Full credit mate. Wasn't expecting those wooden panels. Really sets it off.
How do you deal with mortar stains on the blue headers.
patio cleaner, look brill after and we put a water repellent on which darkens them down
@@foundationgood123 Top tip. Thanks Chris
How many movement joints did you have to put in overall
every 8 metres
Looking good 👍
Thanks 👍
What mix do you use? How do you get the mix nice and workable? thanks.
I'm using a 5 sand to 1 cement ratio and I am using an extra strong mortar plasticiser which you can purchase from any builders merchant!
@@foundationgood123 Thanks Chris!
Looking good mate. What's the name of the red brick you used ?
They look like renaisance I built my shed out of them and dividing wall
renaissance multi mix
Hi Chris, what was that first tune called?
It's call "Mirage"
those piers are massive
Yeh, like the contrast between the large ones and the smaller ones...
looks like you was + 40mm low in concrete hence the monster bed but overall nice and why use bull nose blue on the side you cant actually see .
only in that area, just dipped but over all was ok
@@foundationgood123
so easy to watch and judge on here hats off to you for putting your days on here as a builder I no things don't always go to plan
How do I keep the blue bricks clean

Amazing job chris!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
How much would this cost?
A lot, I was on day rate...6000 brick and 1000 bullnose
Great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Where in the country are you Chris?
Stoke area
@@foundationgood123 Cheadle, staffs?
top work
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks great 👍
Shouldn't there be a full bed in between the top bricks (blue ones)
Next part 2 shows me doing that more
You used more mortar than china on the first course
Only in that area where there was a slight dip
Looks like someone messed up on the footings looking at that first bed joint .but good job👍
The concrete dipped as it was tamped near the house to be honest, however overall it was ok
Kinda gutted I didn’t get to see Rita or Sue 🤣
Why such over sized pillars on the front and better if they don’t have a hollow section in the middle!
It's how my client wanted the design to be, the pillars are filled with a week concrete when the cement mortar has cured..
