    Nice video Chris. You inspired me to become a Bricklayer at a later age. I'm now 51 and been on site for two years. Never been happier. I still love watching bricklaying videos, helps me relax. Many thanks Chris, keep them up..👍

    A lot of experience and skill gone into this wall- you've made it look easy and it most certainly isn't- I've watched the series and have been amazed at this wall construction from its foundations to the walls end..WOW

    Why did you build the bricks,frog down, we were told always frog up,???

    • @foundationgood123
      @foundationgood123  4 года назад +1

      Yes, I did it here because it was much easier to get the gauge, however you'll see I mainly lay the bricks frog up! I know there is much debate about this in my opinion and as with other groups thoughts, the mortar rises into the shallow frog and grips it..Most of the building you'll see I lay frog up!!

    Wait, I don't c any steel rebar being laid. In 🇯🇲 they wd have dug 18" trench; lay steel rebar; then begin laying 6" thick concrete blocks up to maybe 2'; 3'; 4' r 5'; etc.

    My house if constructed in Brick. I put a level to some of the outside walls, and they aren't exactly level - they are just slightly off. I've also measured some of the joints/perps, and they aren't all 10mm - most are, but some are 8mm, 9mm, 11mm etc. Is it normal to expect this variance?

    Great Wall but looks over powering for the property. Them pillars are fat, doesn’t suit the style of house

    Why were the bricks "frog down" @3:16 instead of facing up when you were doing the pillar? Also does the base of the pillar need to use full brick as you did it? Or is it random?

    • @foundationgood123
      @foundationgood123  4 года назад +2

      Yes mate random there are hundreds of solids mixed in the packs and we use them mixed in

    This is actual brickwork, bricklaying houses is slasher work but this is quality, my dad would enjoy this and take him back to the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s.

    Chris can I ask how you did the first course on the step ? Did you make the step the same height as a brick ? How do you set your line up for that ,? Regards Gareth

    • @foundationgood123
      @foundationgood123  4 года назад +1

      Yes I did, I did a video on the foundation and I explain it there. When you start building start at the bottom and lay your line up the steps and build into the step then rack back and carry on till you reach the (the next step) carry on to the top and it should be levell, you may need to a just some courses with a bigger bed or even grind down where necessary but if you've done the foundations level it generally works! hope that has helped

    • @foundationgood123
