Great video! Exactly what i was looking for
Nice review. Which would you recommend for rock & metal music production?
also a very helpful video thank you
Glad it was helpful!
That bass in the KRK is fire 🔥
but it's boosted
@@JayFK_Music but for edm the sound is perfect 😮💨
The Presonus 5s have a recessed tweeter that is now aligned directly above the coil of the bass driver. This results in less phase issues and overall sharper imaging.
Yup, that is true 👌🏿
so which one you prefer of both?
@@BagusWibisono krk de hecho bx5 d3
they just came out with 2.0 after like 6 months having the 1.0 wish knew that and would been better to get those or is it just a design change?
I have the eris 3.5 but don't know if they are good enough to mix n master. I got the Eris 5 but they were way too big! I like the vid shows that the classics have a smaller foot print!! I def am thinking of upgrading to the classics
Upload a few mixes on your channel!
I have the Eris 3.5 too. Since my room is not acoustically treated, I closed the bass tube and lowered the low-end control completely. It sounds fantastic to me. Don't be afraid to make adjustments on the back!
The KRKs have a known issue that the glue on the board melts and shorts the speaker. It happened to mine and when I spoke to the repair guy he said it was a regular thing with those speakers
thats only the krk g2s. g3s and classic, g4s are fine.
I have the Presonus Studio 5 and I have to say they sound alot better than the pair in this video. You must have your source at max level for these to distort as I put mine to test after watching this and they do not distort at all to the naked ear at max level on the speaker itself. Also the KRK 5 has a built in limiter which stops distortion whereas if it did not then yes they would distort to. The Presonus don't sound veiled either like they seem to here and have plenty of low end so much so in fact that I am not sure if I need a sub with the Studio 5. I also had the Mackie MR524 and the studio 5 sounds better. Better balance of sound, more even handed with all of the frequency's and while the MR524 has a deeper low it is not any clearer than the Studio 5. The Studio 5 also has a wider dispersion than my Mackie, a wider soundstage which is nice. What I like about the Studio 5 is I can pop and drop these in my front room for playback with Spotify. I wanted to do that with the Mackies but the vocals didn't work that well there, far too forward almost separated from the rest of the music which made it difficult to listen to comfortably. I also have to say that these Studio 5s need a bit of time to bed in, out of the box the had next to no bass but after an hour or so the bass loosened up and started to flow. I use these for mostly Gospel Reggae and dance in general and have to say, I will be keeping them. They do get quite warm at the back but that should not be a concern especially if you buy these new with a 3 year warranty. They certainly do not get as hot as my old M Audio BX8 D3, those were volcanic! Incidentally, Presonus specifically designed these the new Eris Studio 5 to work with their new Eris Sub 8bt which is why they have only have mid and high tuning on the rear and no bass control other than low frequency cut off for what is needed for the sub, something people should bare in mind if they are going to purchase this speaker.
Hello, I'm an electronic music DJ (deep house, techno). What is your recommendation between KRK rokit 5g4 or Presonus eris studio 5?
For electronic music, most of us lean towards the KRK, so I’d go for those
I was listening to this through the KRK 5s and the Presonus sounds a bit muddier
en el video no se aprecia de forma correcta la calidad del sonido se escuchan las dos mal
Does the KRK have any hiss, like some studio speakers out there?
Nope, no hiss at all but a interface is highly recommended
Hello Thozi. What brand says quality trs cables and where can I get them
The brand doesn't matter that much. Just make sure its TRS and not TS
maan you make my choice harder to make lol ... i had the old genereration of presonus e5 for more than 6 or 7 years and i can tell you that i never increased the volume to the maximum level , cause it is just too high too powerful , and everytime i tried to do that even after using them for many years i can smell the smell of new monitors when i increase the volume , madness.. i think the presonus are well made durable and got a good quality , but im in love with that yellow color hhhh , maybe i should buy both hhh , but bro u forgot to mention that the new presonus got better for paning mixing with that wide 120 degree , so maybe presonus is the right choise and still they are 40 dollars cheaper ))))
I have the Classic 5s. Through this video, the Presonus sounds a bit muddier and darker.
Bro I was thinking to buy them I have a small studio studio setup do this monitors have nice bass? Do you think they are better than this presonus?
How about those m audio behind you hehehe?
Is there all that distortion in the actual track?
Not really, I used both speakers for months at a time. I only used that track cause I like it and I knew I wouldn’t get a copyright strike with it
How about the yamaha hs8?
One of the best 💯
Which one sounds better for music listening?
Definitely the presonus is far nicer for just listening to music. However, if you are mixing / making your own music, the Rokit is better as you can hear more frequencies due to its flatter response.
awesome review 💯💯. what's the name of the song?
It's called "ocean" but it's not released
@@thozimusic eish alright malooms 🙏 thank you.🙏💯
Between krk and presonus I'd choose the Kali LP6
😂😂 good choice
This video is brigher than my future !!!!
KRK wins from my view 😍
1:21 starts touching the membrane ;D
Whats the track name
It’s an unreleased track by a friend of mine
@@thozimusic has it released yet? I love this song
@@thozimusici like this track!!
How is 120 dollar around 200 dollar?
240 dollar for a pair vs 400 dollar for a pair.
240 dollar is closer to 200 dollar than 120 dollar is....
It’s $200 for the pair, not just one speaker. So that’s $200 vs $240.
You are right ( i checked the prices) but the visual you used is incredibly contradictory to what you are trying to convey.
Look at it again.
0:24 you show 1 monitor with a price, but it's the price of a pair.
0:28 you show 1 monitor with a price with the price of a single one.
Also you say both come in at around 200 dollars, In stead of both PAIRS come in at around 200 dollars. This with the fact that you show a single monitor conveys you are talking about single ones.
This is especially confusing because it's very common with these kinda speakers to be sold seperately.
The only way you can spot it, is because it says monitors with the Presonus, but you would need to pause the video and read to spot that.
@@MrTomaat23 common to be sold separately ??? wtf you gonna do use one single speaker?? mix and match brands?? its noones fault but your own you couldnt figure any of this out for god sakes this guy made this video and already did all this research for you and its somehow his fault youre uneducated about studio monitors and cant use your eyes? of course you have to buy them in a pair , boohoo who cares that someone didnt say pairs its common sense and self explanatory everyone who buys studio monitors should know they get sold as single too before even trying to buy one, every studio monitor brand on earth including the one youre mentioning sells singles just because that specific example didnt click in your monkey brain doesnt mean someone made something confusing, you confused it for yourself. everything youre mentioning is self explanatory and shows how little you know while trying to tell someone else theyre wrong. you said yourself its common for them to be sold separately so why the fuk are you assuming every picture of monitors comes in pairs you sound like someone who hasnt even been on a website to buy some.
There's no competition when it comes to budget production work. Between these two, Eris is the winner. As you mentioned in the video, you want to sound to be as neutral as possible. If a speaker has any "character", it will ruin your mix.
Yes, you are right. But every monitor speaker on the planet does infact have “character”. I always use the words “relatively flat” instead of outright flat cause they all sound different and none of them produces a perfectly flat curve, even in the highest end expensive speakers.
Another thing to keep in mind is, everyone has an opinion or belief that they hold as strongly as you do yours. None of us are wrong, none of us are right. But we can all agree that we’re looking for a relatively flat sounding speaker, and most studio monitors at this price point and above, do give us that.
Lastly, going back to the “character” thing, in the video I did infact say that both speakers have their unique character, might have not used those exact words but I did say something like that. So giving the L to the KRKs simply cause they have character compared to the PreSonus is a little bit unfair, don’t you agree?
@@thozimusicim sorry brother but presonus sound better I have recently tested classic 5 and studio 4 presonus there is no comparison bass on Krk sounds like it’s coming out from a toy its just strange meanwhile on presonus it’s open enough to mix good without any aditional subwoofer needed
Le ho ascoltate con delle cuffie AKG e mi piacciono molto di più le KRK
I don't know what people think about the presonus hehehe, those speakers lack mids and bass, you don't understand anything they express
The presonus sound a step above the krks. Krk is too v shaped. Mids don't exist
The KRK's definitely sound much more flat and you can hear more detail across the whole frequency range compared to the Presonus. Don't be fooled by the Presonus sounding nicer, for music production you want a flat sound, not a nice sound.
PLEASE DONT USE VACCUM IT MAY DAMAGE YOUR SPEAKER. USE TAPE.
Thanks for sharing! I still haven’t had mine cave it like that but if it does happen, I’ll be sure to remember this
i deffinitely prefer the darker tone and punchier bass of the krk monitors. It would definitely be easier to produce with the krks.
