Next level Steve! Really enjoy seeing a professional at work! I'm more convinced than ever that you don't have to go to college to earn a great living. Thanks for sharing this with everyone!
I love, love your videos! Didn't even turn on dish network this early Sunday mornin. Turned on my ROKU and binged watch you till time for Church. Love the traveling thru township to the jobsite and baby dog. Great job. No I don't want to be a plumber, especially after that pump replacement in the basement,eewww. God bless .
Steve this is Larry one of your got a little watching your show just enjoy everything man I'm a loyal Watcher but I would love to see the cars that you have I got a glimpse of her one time thank you
Round these parts in northen MN everyone got the hell away from fuel oil. #1 fuel oil is around $2.60 a gallon and propane is like $1.30 a gallon. at one time here fuel oil was well over $4.00 a gallon. That got alot of people to switch.
Hey Steve. Noticed you used hot water in the drain. Some of my drain cleaner friends say to cold with a grease clog. Sometimes they come back again. They say the kinetic water hammer does a great job on grease. Great video. Take care
Thanks for showing us how to get it done. Real world stuff. Of course there is always more ways to skin a cat. This is the way a real workin man gets it done. On to the next one...
Hey Steve was that the fire department coming from setting off the smoke alarms? I could read the look on your face when you heard the sirens, like “Oh Shit Momma”. Lol Been there done that!
Do you ever bother to scold the "home maker" who put all that grease down the drain....or do you merely wait until the next stoppage provides "repeat business...."?
There is a clean out at the bottom, but I think he cut the pipe because if he was to chip off that old cap then all that water up to the level of the sink would leak out
Is there a reason not to seam in a Plastic "Y" with a cleanout vs putting the metal piping back in?? Just curious... THANKS AGAIN...and you are indeed getting SLIM and TRIM. Impressive in all regards.
Local codes often dictate plumbing practices -- In Chicago, and other large cities, for many years, Cast drains & type L copper water were the only way houses and other buildings were plumbed out.
Thanks...that explains why it was done in Cast Iron originally, but the question is. why not modify it now during the maintenance and repair. I do understand, some codes may not (perhaps) allow that modification, but I am wondering if there is a technical reason not to do so. My house is 1901 --and in Nebraska- and plumbing and drain projects are number 1 things to expect from year to year. Is there a reason -other than local codes- not to piece plastic between two cast iron sections. I dont plan on opening the walls and removing all the cast iron anytime soon! Thanks again for the info, just trying to learn as much as I can.
My utility sink is clogged and I noticed that the pipe that goes out from the garage wall into the sewage is clogged with so much gravel and junk. I tried to snake it out, but it won't go all the way through. I'm not sure if I should take off the pipe from the garage wall as it looks so corroded. There is a P-pipe I don't even know how to begin to take off from this fitting (nipple) it's attached to. Everything is galvanized piping and probably hasn't been messed with since the house was built late 40s. Any advice??
What, did I put hot cooking fat in the sink? No, of course not. I have no idea how it got there. Are you sure that's what caused the clog? lol Good work, nice video Steve.
THE GENIUS he needed room to get the snake into the lower pipe so have to take bigger section out. Then you have to make room for the fernco fittings to fit plus the original pipe section
me me yes I realize that but the PC cut out he cut about one inch on each side of it out? so why not just cut two inches off of one side making one cut for the PC took out
And the Dandy fitting probably rusted the plug in solid. That would leave the rather nasty choice of breaking the plug out and flooding the floor with sewage.
I was gonna ask the same question, but already answered for me. I could just see that old cast iron plug being rusted solid and busting the hub trying to break it loose. Plus the sink water being at the level it was, then I also thought hell I wouldn't want to kneel hunched down and have my face right there when it opens up. It did occur to me though why not install a clean out now while the pipe is cut, but then I guess the removable cut section serves just as well if not better than a clean out anyway.
Next level Steve! Really enjoy seeing a professional at work! I'm more convinced than ever that you don't have to go to college to earn a great living. Thanks for sharing this with everyone!

Steve, nice job on that drain. You do a meticulous job, getting it done right. Thanks, for the video.
I have the same sink in my basement and had to snake it couple weeks ago ! lol Great job Steve.
nice video, I learn plumbing from your video. Thank alot steve
Great job Steve. That was a good clog. They must eat lots of greasy stuff in that house!
You are the man Steve, keep it up!
Steve this is Larry one of your got a little watching your show just enjoy everything man I'm a loyal Watcher but I would love to see the cars that you have I got a glimpse of her one time thank you
Next level, really like the vest with your company name on it
why not join back together with a y shape fitting with a blank on it so it makes it easier if problem ever occurs again
Rubber ducky at the end was a nice touch! 🤣
Good job nice 🥇
face shield while using the grinder good safety tip for all who use power tools.
have a great weekend
from, jim the plumber
Great job, nice touch with the duck!
I really enjoy watching your channel.
never pour grease down the drain costly ...
Funny how five years later he pays no mind to the phone now let it ring lol 😂 Next Level

I noticed that there was a clean out plug near the floor how come you didn't use the clean out plug instead of cutting a pipe
because the water in the laundry tub would have drained out first. Always make the access point higher then the water level of the clogged fixture.
rich I mean you just pump out the water. He just doesn’t care.
Hey Steve. Noticed you used hot water in the drain. Some of my drain cleaner friends say to cold with a grease clog. Sometimes they come back again. They say the kinetic water hammer does a great job on grease. Great video. Take care
Grease trapped sink.. Put the ole gundy to it. Good Job Steven
should of installed a "y" pvc connector for future problems
Juan Mendez why? He has the clamps that he needs a screwdriver to undo for future snaking
Thanks for showing us how to get it done. Real world stuff. Of course there is always more ways to skin a cat. This is the way a real workin man gets it done. On to the next one...
nice fix Steve
Baking soda and vinegar would have unclogged that in a jiffy. Lol
i find the ridges K 50 is the best small sewer machine on the market.
Don't go propane ol Stevie boy is a oil burner mechanic that would be one lees customer lol great job Steve loving the vids
David Moulton , He does propane, and natural gas systems too. Around these parts oil is cheaper dollar for dollar than propane.
Southeast MO it costs like 400 dollars for 500 gallons for propane
A portaband would be awesome for that.
moomike laloo a bimetal blade works for me. No dust either. Might have trouble getting close enough to the wall though now that I think about it.
I think I remember that duck from the claw foot bath tub job. Next level.
Pretty sure that sink came straight out of a childhood nightmare of mine.
Hey Steve was that the fire department coming from setting off the smoke alarms? I could read the look on your face when you heard the sirens, like “Oh Shit Momma”. Lol Been there done that!
You need to update some tools man. Get your a k-50 tripod with the spool and the 5/8 drum head
Nice job
Do you ever bother to scold the "home maker" who put all that grease down the drain....or do you merely wait until the next stoppage provides "repeat business...."?
Why would he scold a moron?
Who doesn’t know that grease down a drain is a no-no?
These are lazy, stupid people and you can’t cure stupid.
Great job
I'm really surprised that Steve did not cut a clean-out into the pipe here.. you know it's gonna happen again.. anyhow.. good job still here.
There is a clean out at the bottom, but I think he cut the pipe because if he was to chip off that old cap then all that water up to the level of the sink would leak out
Next level job Steve
😮 😮😮The Smoke alarm 🚨 has been set 3:19 😮😮😮
Steve, you look like you lost a lot of weight....looking good!!!
Nice Work!!
New to your videos...really like.....detroit mi
Give it the Grundy Steve!
You look at the camera after cutting the pipe like, can you believe this??😂😂
Is there a reason not to seam in a Plastic "Y" with a cleanout vs putting the metal piping back in?? Just curious... THANKS AGAIN...and you are indeed getting SLIM and TRIM. Impressive in all regards.

Nice work, but greasy. Next level...
good job

Replace it
jeeney mac man you looking fit as a fiddle fair play to you man losing weight is hard you must be really disciplined
Love the videos
Great job! what was the snake diameter used?
Why didn't you install a clean out there????? A little more work next time
How is that not a clean out now?
I had that problem at my parents place a while ago.. I should of worn gloves :(
an old concrete sink just like I have
Blessings, John 3:16. Jesus loves you.
Why not put a clean out in while you have it cut apart?
That's one old soapstone sink for sure
Steve where do you think all that grease came from?
Don't u just love the smell of grease in the morning
What, did I put hot cooking fat in the sink? No, of course not. I have no idea how it got there. Are you sure that's what caused the clog? lol
Good work, nice video Steve.
Try a diamond wheel they cut much faster and don't come apart like the fibre types...very dangerous when they shatter all over your face.
Even Flow why he has a full face shield on. Definitely diamond wheels are the way to go, except the cost.
steven, what size and brand of snake did you use for the job and where can I buy them? I want to have one as well.
That’s a General Super Vee. Very good handheld machines, last forever
awesome video, kick ass and chew gum. . and you are all out of gum ...!
looks like some days are more glamorous than others in this business..... before you know it you'll be pulling the Testo's out again......
I meant gundy - next level!
just curious? the section of pipe that was cut out to shorten it why not cut it one time instead of two?
THE GENIUS he needed room to get the snake into the lower pipe so have to take bigger section out. Then you have to make room for the fernco fittings to fit plus the original pipe section
me me yes I realize that but the PC cut out he cut about one inch on each side of it out? so why not just cut two inches off of one side making one cut for the PC took out
John Smith LOL I have set off smoke alarms when Brazing in HVAC air handler. I always warn the customer that that might happen
He wanted to square off the ends.
efman2k3 makes good sense thank you for the reply Steve is a hard-working guy
Did u get the ducks yet?
Oh steve burning down the house...(smoke detectors)
Lota work that is...
as the sink drains
There is a clean out plug below. Why did you have to cut out the section of pipe ?
K & V Dustless Blasting To avoid getting nasty water from those slop sinks on the floor.
I see. Thanks Shawn.
And the Dandy fitting probably rusted the plug in solid. That would leave the rather nasty choice of breaking the plug out and flooding the floor with sewage.

+yambo59 cut is made high above water level so Smart Steve stays dry !!!
That line needs to be water jetted. All you do with a snake is punch a hole . It will clog again in a short time.
Too much just sawing.
Who lives like this
cooking grease + drain = clog $$$$
the duck xd
Why do you wear gloves? Lol jk
