Thank you. I am a senior citizen and need to clear clogged laundry tubs. Could you also show how to remove the knock from the pipe?

Exact same thing happened to me today. But living in Canada under the Trudeau regime, hiring a plumber is a luxury. I'll be doing this first thing in the morning.

Where did you put the snake in? Do you make a cut or enter through some existing access? Thanks

Just made a cut and placed a sleeve over cut for future reference.

Thanks for the video! Just wondering how do you decide where to have the cut out at? Can you also just snake the drain instead of snaking the cut out?

    • @Quickti

Good question! For me personally, I just placed the cut out where it’s easily accessible for future clogs.
And yes, if you have access down drain that will also work, however not sure if your layout, but that can also play a role in your clogs (no screen/drain) b/c things can flow down, collect and clog. I

@@Quickti Thanks. Would clearing the p-trap work as well? Or is the clog happening before the P-trap?

Can’t say if it’s the trap or not, but cleaning it definitely won’t hurt

Do you think this would work for a lint clog in the pipe running parallel under the sink? I use a knee high nylon clamped to the end of the washing machine hose but sometimes I think a little lint gets through that "filter" anyway. I would be coming down from a vertical pipe with the drain snake as that is my only access.

I do believe a snake can do the job for lint. There are attachments that cut through tree roots like butter, so absolutely.
As long as you have the length band the snake w/ attachment can get by the 90 degree elbow connecting the parallel pipe.
      Good luck!

@@Quickti I'm sorry. What kind of attachment do you mean? I have the drill and the snake that goes with that but I don't have anything to make it turn into that pipe under the sink once I go down the vertical. I think the snake will just keep going down into the floor like the vertical pipe does. ??
      Thank you for responding. :)

@jmar8507 yeah no problem, I think you’ll get a better idea of the different types attachments if you could see them.
Since I can’t attach a picture, just google “drain snake attachments” and click on images tab. Pretty sure you already have the basic attachment that usually comes with snake, but just wanted to let you know there’s different attachments for different needs (such as cutting through tree roots).
