It sounds very funny for the procedure like endoscopy. For example, in Lithuania (Europe), you will take 10 minutes for this procedure, just arrive, go onto special bed, open your mouth and into YOU being alive the probe will be put into your stomach for two minutes, that's it. You get up from a bed, and go home after 10 minutes before you arrived the same day.
If you only get the throat spray you can leave immediately but in this video they're showing the procedure done with a sedative prior to it. Patient can choose to be sedated if they want to and with that they have to keep you under observation for up to 2 hrs after the procedure is completed. Usually they push you to just have the throat spray. I did say I wanna be sedated. Having it tomorrow morning and I'm so nervous. First one. I'm in the UK. Sedation isn't general anesthesia. You are awake but sleepy. It just helps to relax. With some people they can just fall asleep but they're not unconscious like with general anesthesia. Sedation is still carried out by an anesthesiologist.
Rashad Sims Thank you Rashad I’m glad to hear this and hope you’re mom gets better soon. Did the doctors say if the Endoscopy caused the speaking issue or not? Thanks again
@@rooppatel3468 it's the causes of the stroke in some cases the patients cant move or speak luckily my mom is able to walk slowly and speak she is taking it day by day
I know u posted this like a year ago but I'm having mine in a couple days ...does it hurt ? Are u awake during ? What is the whole recovery like from beginning to end ?
No. You can have the procedure done without sedation, which means they will just use a numbing throat spray and won't need to inject you with anything. This is the default option. You have to ask for sedation if you want it. Sedation means you have to remain longer there after to be observed (a couple of hours or so) and be accompanied home and so on. With just the spray you can go home straight away and do whatever you like. I was told that the spray only isn't bad but who knows. Some people say they were just slightly uncomfortable and some have horror stories. I chose sedation for my endoscopy tomorrow morning. I'm just too nervous. I also don't wanna gag.

oh cool. I go in on Tuesday Morning, but I am from South Australia, so I don't know what time it would be for you?! Well, from what I have read and seen on the videos I am certain they tell you afterwards! As they can't really do anything right there and then, if it was for a down below (your bum) then I know for sure, they get rid of it straight away. But because its going down your mouth, then I don't think they can do the same thing! Maybe ring early morning Monday and ask :)

I need to get this done on Friday because smth is going on with my throat and I’m HELLA WORRIED, I need to also get a covid test on Wednesday so I can even do it and I have anxiety so even a shot is just so nerve wrecking for me. I hope I don’t accidentally COME OUT when I’m put under the anesthesia. :(
@@butterflygirl01 Yep, I have to get one on Saturday before my procedure next Tuesday. 😤
Any procedures or surgeries you have to get a covid test a few days before
I have breathing problems severe sleep apnea, I'm scared I might choke or suffocate during the procedure.
If you have a CPAP, they usually tell you to bring that.
How are u now
Do u get to go home afterwards or wait until u get the results
I'm getting mine done on the 29th of this month I'm a little nervous
I got mine the 14th and it’s going to be a breeze it’s prolly going to be your best sleep ever if you choose to get anesthesia
I have a question what happened if they find foods in your lungs ?
Then you are probably dead because you aspired food into your lungs somehow. They check your esophagus.
I had this they gave me something through my iv dont remember nutthin after
I need one but 😭 does that make u gag 😭
Natalie Soto I had mine today and I was freaking out. Apparently for no reason at all. I woke up and hugged the nurse who was laughing :D
No your asleep
Girl Im getting this and scared to of the gagging lol
@@blackiesun how the proceduee went without sedation?
My mom just had one but she still can't speak or use her right arm
Hi, could you please explain why your mum couldn’t speak after this procedure? Thanks
Yes please explain this
@@theredfaceofficial she is speaking better now she is taking it day by day
Rashad Sims Thank you Rashad I’m glad to hear this and hope you’re mom gets better soon. Did the doctors say if the Endoscopy caused the speaking issue or not? Thanks again
@@rooppatel3468 it's the causes of the stroke in some cases the patients cant move or speak luckily my mom is able to walk slowly and speak she is taking it day by day

Lillian Kingsworth your throat may be sore afterwards but other than that you'll be fine

@@shabanahamidi722 I'm having mine done in a few days. How did yours go?

I'm 18 and so scared of ampules and serums! does my arm really have to be injected?
Goodzila Baqali yeah but it only hurts a little and it's over
Try EMLA cream - put it on about an hour before.
@@blackiesun my comment was from 4 years ago. I got my endoscopy and sleeve surgery done. I'm thin now😂😂
Can I still wear my cartilage piercing?
All jewelry and body piercings need to be removed. This is a requirement for patient safety. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call the ASC and ask to speak to a coordinator in GI. They can answer any of your questions. We are more than happy to ease nerves before coming in for the procedure. 217.528.7541
My grandma went and got her done January 14 but she had a cardiac arrest they try to do CPR on her but I guess the anesthesia was to strong for her so she didn't make it the ambulance game and took her to the hospital she was on life support after I seen her she wasn't breathing on her own they kept trying to bring her back she keep having 4 heart attacks I don't no if it was the anesthesia or what happened 😢
Poor your grandma
My god, im afraid now Did your grandmother have heart problems?
This really told you nothing about the procedure itself
Im having this done on Monday. With sedation are you completely out of it and does it hurt? Im dreading the gag reflex!!!
You will be given an anesthetic before the procedure to make you sleepy so you should not feel anything. The only thing that is uncomfortable is having the IV put in before the procedure. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call the ASC and ask to speak to a coordinator in GI. They can answer any of your questions. 😁
horrid procedure , do not recommend, it is very very painful , and the next two days do not sleep , you can choke on your tongue due to supremio anesthesis really weigh your options
black docs not true, I had it today. I'm only 10, and it doesn't hurt at all
Sounds like they did not give you anesthesia.... OR it didn't work for you.
You had a bad doctor, I had one done yesterday with sedation and they did several biopsy’s and it didn’t hurt at all, just a sore throat for a few days
This procedure would be painful without sedation. I have a bad gag reflex so I requested an anesthesiologist to sedate me with propofol for my upcoming upper endoscopy on June 4th.
That was not my experience at all it was a breeze
😮 I have one endoscopy and colonoscopy on 27th 😵💫🫣 and I have bad vertigo as well. So wish me luck 🤞🏻
