Hugh Grant is priceless in this movie. Showing his acting skills. I enjoy watching him on talk shows... blurs the line between life imitating art and art imitating life.
What's amazing is that this beautiful film was made for $40 million and it's a work of art that does things $300 million films can't do and that is to make you love it because it's special. The care and inventiveness of it is astounding.
The pop up/cardboard cutout view of London is a call back to the 1970's TV Paddington. The bear was a stop motion puppet, everyone else represented by those hand drawn flats. A unique style, lovingly recreated for a bit of nostalgia
This movie always has ways to resolve an arc/setup. The only thing that kinda left me wanting more was Mr. Curry. I had hoped there will be more of a happier resolution to his character especially since he played a bigger part and having his heart broken by the villain in the first film. But I guess it can be seen that not everyone can change for the better, and that's just another beautiful, honest aspect of this movie and its lessons.
When I saw this movie I took an old "friend" with me and of course learning from Paddington I kept Orange Lifesavers in his hat. I was in tears when I got to the ending of this!
Hugh Grant being in the film is even more hilarious and fitting when you find out that Paul King and the writers literally wanted to call the character’s first name Hugh and completely play into the stereotype of IRL Hugh Grant having played virtually the same character in most of his movies.
Paddington 2 is literally perfection. Not only does it take place in London which is one of the most beautiful places in the world. But the pacing, the character's, the story. IT'S SO GOOD. The amount of attention to detail is insane. I love all the animated segments and really well done shots in the movie. My favourite shot is when Paddington and Aunt Lucy are in the pop-up book of London. It looks so magical and must have taken forever to make. Paddington 2 deserves the score it got on Rotten Tomatoes because it's a MASTERPIECE. Paddington 2 is such a happy movie and it even does really well with the sad moments. What a wonderful film.rt
I just watched the movie and saw your reaction so had to watch it mate. There were many moments that put tears in my eyes especially the first and the last scene.
Such a beautiful masterpiece of a movie. Hopefully, the 3rd one makes this one of the greatest trilogies of all time. Great reaction Brandon, so glad you loved it.
We now know it’s called Paddington In Peru. I’ve compared these films to Toy Story elsewhere, I hope we don’t have the TS3 inferno scene but if it’s half as good I’d be happy.
Tell you what, I missed Brendan Gleeson in the credits too, so it wowed me to see him too. That Ratatouille moment of him enjoying the marmalade sandwich is priceless. Great film! Excited to see what they do with the third one!
What i really like about your reactions is that they are always genuine. There are so many other youtube channels who fake reactions to make it way over the top. I really appreciate this
The one who plays the security guard wrote and co wrote these paddington films he also in TV show horrible histories and ghosts .he is also in clip where paddington bear as tea with the queen
I always enjoy seeing you react to movies and, man oh man, was I crying right alongside you there, brother. Loved this channel and you since the launch! All the best mate. -- Leo from Australia!
Hi Brandon . Your reactions for Paddington 2 are incredibly heart felt and genuine... that made it all the more enjoyable to see again . I can not agree more that the film is well above Par in more ways then I can count . This film is a Masterful piece of artistry and comedic timing. I enjoy this film every time I watch it and I do not believe I will ever feel bored watching Paddington 1 or 2.... when I eat Marmalade on toast I can't help but smile and think of Paddington . I am really happy you enjoyed this film so much. It is obvious that Paddington tugs at the heart strings.... as it should. Thank you for this Brandon
I love this film. Hilarious, really well written and just so heartwarming. Always gets me a bit teary-eyed. Completely different genre, but if you want something by the same director, the TV series Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is a hell of a fun time. Could be worth watching for Halloween.
YOOOOO! the craziest of connections I never saw coming. Absolutely love the Paddington movies and Garth Marenghi's and The Mighty Boosh, never thought the same guy had a a very heavy hand in making all three. Thanks for this comment Jam Wah, will be eagerly awaiting everything Paul King is involved with from here on. One track lover! LLLOLLL
Brandon, these Paddington movies were just recommended to me by a friend and so now that's you AND her telling me these are good, I'll check them out! If only one had you had said it, I might not have watched them....but the two of you together, and in the space of a couple of weeks....I'll definitely check 'em out (then come back here to check out your reactions.)
In the scene where all the prisoners come to the visiting box, the guy in the bottom right next to Paddington, was the guy who planned how that frame looked.
Hugh Grant is superb in this. The sets, the animation, the acting, the story is perfection and the cinematography is outstanding. I cried like a baby at the end. Glad you liked them
It's one of my favorite movies! Everything about it is just perfect. I just love this and the first one so much, and I hope I won´t have to high expectations and be disappointed of Paddington 3. Really looking forward to it.
I have to be honest, when these movies came out...I didn't know they were Wes Anderson movies or were any good at all! The animation is incredible and so is the storyline....don't be ashamed about shedding a tear Brandon, I was there as well, especially since I thought she died in the first one, but that was the uncle who passed instead. What a lovely film!
I can't believe you still don't know the name of Brendan Gleeson after you've seen Harry potter (which is where you recognise him from most), Braveheart and In Bruges. I'm not even Irish and he's my favorite actor, he straddles the line between comedy and dramatic performance better than anyone I've ever seen. He's also in 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs' Cohen brothers movie which is underrated, and one of my absolute favorite films: 'The Guard.'
The security guard was in the first one and as a footman in the jubilee clip of Paddington with the queen. He didn’t flirt with her though. It’s the queen of course and she is not his type, he likes men in drag.
unironically one of the best movies ever made
It's a masterpiece no doubt and I don't say that very often
How did Father's ball throw knock Pheonix forward and not backward?

Hugh Grant is priceless in this movie. Showing his acting skills. I enjoy watching him on talk shows... blurs the line between life imitating art and art imitating life.
It's his best role in ages. The movie is a masterpiece indeed.
You can tell Hugh was having soo much fun playing this character. He's getting better with age.
he's amazing here and also in the gentlemen
He’s great in this !

The museum guard who fancies Hugh Grant as a nun is Simon Farnaby. He co-wrote the screenplay.
One of the six idiots. They're all delightful, btw.

It took me until this one when I finally realized he had played Dr. Who!
That ending, oof. Someone's cutting onions again.
Not gonna lie, I cried a little in the end of this movie!
I cried A LOT at the end (and many other times)
I cried tons of times
Honestly I cried during this a lot
I can't watch it without crying and I'm a heartless emotional void.
I cried a lot too, it's just... So beautiful and heartwarming
Genuinely the best movie about penal reform there has ever been
These movies will be considered legendary in a couple decades. Real masterpieces take time to be fully appreciated
I'd say this movie at the very least is considered legendary now. It's the highest ranking movie on Rotten Tomatoes for a reason.
It’s not even April fools. Stop
I do think the Paddington movies will stand the test of time. In several decades, these movies will still be remembered. They are so freaking good.
An accurate statement.
When I saw this movie I took an old "friend" with me and of course learning from Paddington I kept Orange Lifesavers in his hat. I was in tears when I got to the ending of this!
This has to be the most wholesome movie reaction I've seen.
Hugh Grant being in the film is even more hilarious and fitting when you find out that Paul King and the writers literally wanted to call the character’s first name Hugh and completely play into the stereotype of IRL Hugh Grant having played virtually the same character in most of his movies.

19:00 the security guard is one of the writers. He's in a great show called detectorists which is great, quite British though
Saw this with my daughter in the theater, we teared up at that ending

I just noticed, Brandon puts the box of the movie he's watching on the top right shelf. His background is cool honestly and that's a nice feature.
Fun fact: The officer in the cathedral who is attracted to Hugh Grant’s Nun, is the co-writer of the film!

Paddington with the toffee apples reminded me soooo much of Wallace in the wrong trousers when ‘he’s’ stealing the jewellery

I forgot how good this is. And Sally Hawkins, always surprisingly amazing. And Hugh Grant ... among his best work.
I'm willing to bet good money that this is the most fun Hugh Grant has ever had in his entire career
Definitely. It almost seems like they gave him free reign to just be a preposterous caricature villain and he went with it.
We just need a part 3 to complete the perfect trilogy.
