It is pretty comfortable the only thing I would prefer is if it was a nato handle because taking it on and off for each shoot is a wee bit tiresome🤷🏼♂️
Is there an alternative to the top handle? It's been discontinued and the only way I see it is putting the XLR on the top of the handle which is lame. Looking for an alternative to get as close to this rig as possible. Thanks
Not a stupid question as well! So two things actually. First the screen tilts up so it isn’t terribly in the way, or I can flip the screen on the side. The second way is the v mount plate actually can drop the battery down so it is completely out of the way entirely. I have another video of my recent S5iiX rig with the cine rig system. And I legit use that camera set up which is way heavier and bigger though 90% of the time
@@MatthewDangyou obviously. But why for this particular build if you’re using a mft af lens and you yourself said you are using that lens to take advantage of the autofocus. Again, I am aware of the functionality of a follow focus, but even with that lens you didn’t put a gear ring on the lens and the grooves on that lens won’t provide any reliable results with the follow focus.
@@rovingearth7028 It just gives both options, I switch between manual and auto all the time during a shoot. For b-roll you can't beat the natural, non-mechanical looking, manual focus pull between products or subjects.
@@JCSvideography I am totally aware what the option is. In this case the whole thing doesn’t make sense, with the type of lens being used, especially without a gear ring.
SmallRig still offers the "Black mamba" cage? Thoughts? Looks better for hybrid photographers as the shutter button is not so hidden?
I actually personally like being able to rig addition parts when needed on that side of the handle but both would work!
Damnn cant wait to get mine
XLR unit but no mic? ^^'
Fair😂 I do add the Audio Technica Mic
Really intriqued by the top handle. Even without the XLR unit, is it a fairly comfortable/weight bearing handle?

Thanks for the video, is it 10bit or 12bit to record ProResRAW to CFe and ssds?
Yes and blackmagic raw with BM video assist
12 bit for pro res raw

@@MatthewDangyou Thank you. Idk why it was sending me to a different part.
Might be a stupid question, but how do you see what you‘re filming without an external monitor? Doesn‘t you battery pack block your built in screen?

Great rig, but a monitor is pretty essential for me. How come you wouldn't mount your's on the top handles cold shoe?
Or arri pin!
You can! But then the rig is top heavy imo. Or the monitor is so high
Why a follow focus if you decided to “ use the full capabilities of the gh7” with a native mount AF lens?
Just in case for those focus pull moments🤷🏼♂️

@rovingearth7028 there is a grip thing on the follow focus for normal autofocus lenses actually :) so you don’t need a gear ring😉
Why dont you just put the monitor in front of the handle? I assume you get a better point of view and the camera is less back heavy
The camera is already front heavy, and the monitor is super high with the handle too
