This camera is in a real sweet spot if you wanna save some money. It almost has everything that the GH7 has unless you want Pro Res and all that. 4K@120fps without any crop is brilliant. I haven't had any heating issues as I never do continous recording at that frame rate. Who would I wonder.
Totally Agree.
Very helpful and informative Mr. Myers. Thanks for the videos
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
I bought the G9ii over the GH7. Mainly for photo and secondly for video. For consumer video it is more capable than most consumers will use.
@@bitwise2832 Agreed! It’s a very capable camera.
I melted the G9ii in a week. I've had the GH7 since and haven't had any problems. I run high frame rates. The only thing I miss about the G9ii is 300p. GH7 has sound on 4k 120 and 1080 240 and the G9ii doesn't have sound on high frame rates.
If you are outdoors a lot, especially where I live in Louisiana, the fan on the GH7 is a life saver.
G9ii has sound on 4k 120P and 1080 240P recording just like the GH7, as long as you are recording in the normal movie mode on the dial. It's only when you are using the S&Q mode for in camera slow/fast motion playback that sound isn't recorded.

g9ii deals right now make it ~$1,000. pretty compelling.
The deals are definitely out there if you look. The lens selection for Micro 4/3 is great too.
Lowest I'm seeing is $1180 after tax. How are you saving the extra $180 without trading in an old camera?
where is it $1k
@@lustgarten BH photo. Check their promos at the top of the page. You don't need to send in a tradein.
nowhere!
Sorry but your cadence and information layout feels too much like an infomercial. A bit more personality and specific details of how the IQ looks, how the body feels, what kind out performance you can get would be more useful and appreciated then more of a spec spreadsheet format. (Like EVF size and performance, burst and AF performance, noise control at specific values if you want to compare to Full Frame, etc.)
G9 is not worth it if you film a lot. The fan, the screen and arri log are enough reasons to buy the gh7
@@andersistbesser If you are primarily video, and can afford it, the GH7 is the way to go. If you are more of a hybrid shooter, g9ii is a great option and it’s cheaper.
