For those of you who comment that you know these, LISTEN TO THE VIDEO. I clearly said these tips are meant for beginners to moderate players. If you already know them, good for you! But a lot of people don't so keep that in mind.
You should also tell people to change the power slide button on the controller from 'X' to one of the bumpers. Way more comfortable and intuitive, plus it allows you to easily boost and power slide. Also since the power slide button is also the air roll button, it makes it easier to do quick turns in the air and allows you to do some really fun stuff very fluidly, once you get the hang of it.
I don't play claw, when I go for the "mid boost jump" I'm able to use my thumb on a and b by just kind of lining my thumb up and it works real well. I can hit both buttons with my thumb when i need to jump up fast.
KILLSQUAD yeah it’s very simple I don’t get why he would say to learn claw , seems like it would just make it harder , just map your slide/roll to left bumper then tout thumb only has to worry about a and b.
I don't know if it's been pointed out already but when you do the two powerslides you use the boost at different points in the turn and I honestly think that that is what makes the bigger difference in speed of the turn rather than holding down the accelerator while sliding. Although I do think that helps as well.
The mid boost jump as you call it is the best way to do it if you are trying to beat someone to the ball, if it is really high or in general if you don't have to jump into the ball. It is not inaccurate in any way, you just have to master it. I have personally been practicing it for a long time, about 200 hours and have mastered it pretty well and it treats me wonderfully.
Honestly, I just picked up Rocket League this morning, never touched the game before, and this tutorial gave me some insight. I figured out some of these in free play and Exhibition matches, but some of these were things I was trying to figure out and was struggling with. I appreciate your time and efforts, ignore the haters.
I've made it to top 100 multiple times and these are my controls (PS4): - Boost: R1 instead of Circle - Reset shot: Circle instead of R1 - Air roll: L1 instead of Square - Scoreboard: L3 instead of L1 - Use item (Rumble): Circle instead of L3 These controls remove the potential need to claw grip your controller because you can use your index for boosting at the same time as your thumb for the second jump, allowing faster aerial goals and saves. Also, this utilizes the L1 button for gameplay instead of the scoreboard and again, removes need to claw grip. Because of the utilization of the bumper buttons on the controller, players with these controls, such as myself, can jump, boost, and air roll at the same time, all with different fingers.
You don't need claw for it. Just place ur thumb in between the buttons. Also it is almost always worth it. At high level every ball is contested so you need that fast start to make it there first
I'm a Grand Champ. I didn't know about the powerslide trick. XD On a note though, one thing that helped me get much better was being able to boost while jumping. Rather than play clay or rebind boost, I just got used to being able to use my thumb for both A and B at the same time. Similar to sprinting and jumping in Super Mario World. Makes a huge difference, and the "Mid-boost jump" is crucial for quickly nailing balls that are high in the air before the opposition.
what hes trying to say is when you are on the roof you are ganna want to come down fast right? well this is the best way to do it, you have can in supersonic speed in just 12 boost, you boost a little then adjust the car so the back wheels are going to hit the ground first then you double jump forward
In order to not play claw but still have the benefits of being able to boost and jump at the same time, i swtiched the boost (from O) to L1 on my controller. L1 was just the score board and i figured that i would never be boosting while going in reverse (which is L2).
If you're having trouble with claw, try buying a scuf or elite controller, they have paddles on the backs and it's insane how useful they are. They take time to get used to but once you do you cant go back to a regular controller, it will definitely help with anything in rocket league especially air dribbling or things of that sort, also great video, keep up the good work😋
Better than "playing claw" is to change your controler settings so your bumpers are for drifting and either boosting or jumping. it makes things much simple, more comfortable, and easier to control. If you're a rumble fan then I suggest changing your rumble ability button to one of the now empty buttons.
For my aerials I save the sevond jump to flick my car into the ball so that I get more power in hitting it. This can also used to hit the ball to the side if you get next to it and dodge to the side. I hope that makes sense.
as if i would know that the video will not be helpful, and because the title says "EPIC Rocket League TRICKS..." one could have thought of some better tipps than these.. he even says for intermediate to advanced players, you dont get to intermediate if you dont know these tipps.
idk if you are wrong or if its a different method, i boost pull back and jump at the same time then do my second jump while still boosting and also i don't use claw i have just done it for most of my aerialing career so its seamless for me
6:54 lol why like that ? If yee find that really odd too I suggest to change control layout to have easier access. There are many options but mine is; power slide and aerial control to L1 and x for boost. This way you can have your thumb comfortably placed over A&B for easy access to both buttons at once. Not this awkward looking claw hand. Decent video anyway. Thanks
yeah this fuck face say "its a pros trick, but u might now it, the level for this is..., but ist not that simple, u must be fast, idk the name, but this is the trick anyways, here we goo....." broooooooooooooooooooooo i wanna punch him
The third aerial trick you showed us was mastered by me. I can seamlessly do it. With a little practice, especially with timing, anyone can master it as well
for the fastest aerial, you have to hold boost the entire time on kickoff, even before you first jump. Your car moves faster while boosting on the ground than in the air, boosting before taking off for an aerial simply allows you to accelerate faster.
TheLlamaSir It's funny how you handle criticism like a 6 year old. He was making the point that your video was crap, and helped no one, but your wallet. Also take 5 seconds to look up the name of the move before you make something cringy up.
If you don't want to play claw you can change you're boost control to L1 or R1 (RB or LB) in the settings I did it and it helps out a ton when trying to do freestyles.
TheLlamaSir Omg the Llama has replied! I always watch the whole video.... just to make sure I understand the concept, and obtain the ability to explain and interpret the video to people who didn't understand or have different beliefs, and hate on me because ours differ. Anyway, I like you, too! You seem like a genuinely good guy, and making risky, hate-opportunistic videos like these, further proves that point. Going out of your way and risking hate in order to help ostensibly struggling players to improve their gameplay. Keep up the great work, Llama! You'll be at a million in no time. You deserve it more than anyone.
Colossal Meatrod No the reason for the haters is because you shouldnt do what hes telling you to do. its not like what hes telling you to do should be an option
Nice video. I've already learned these tricks from other sources but I do have a tip. I can be useful to rebind your air roll button to L1 or R1, LB or RB for Xbox (I'm on PC with a PS3 controller). This requires you to do less with your thumb. I usually press two buttons with my thumb simultaneously.
The alternative to the claw that i use is to just press the jump and boost buttons at the same time with your thumb (i have mine bound as boost(A) and jump(B). Its a little awkward at first but its better than completely re-adjusting your grip imo
Forgive me for being a noob but do you have to buy keys to open crates or are there other ways to open them? Also, what's trading and how do you do it?
This video was not that helpful. Why did you pretend like you coined the phrase 'double jump aerial'? That's literally what everyone calls it. And that's also the name of the second fast aerial technique you went through. The first one was just a slower, less efficient double jump aerial. Obviously players need to learn that technique to get better, but it just put me off your video the way you pretended to have named it.
Guys if you struggle with boosting AND jumping at the same time, just bind boost to X/square and powerslide to b/circle, but remember to bind away air roll from x/square
pretty good video for beginners on flying. i tend to use my thumb sideways then i can hit the circle and x button at the same time. I have never tried the claw trick.
People also use this thing called a keyboard, yeah controllers shouldn't always take priority in videos dude, there are a lot of pc users out there who use keyboard its harder ik but deal with it xD
No need to play claw if you set your buttons different! I changed mine and my game play went up heaps after getting the new mussel memory going, LB boost, A jump and X as air roll/handbrake makes the game so mush easier and same with all the tricks. I am on pc using an xbox 360 controller. Great vid cheers
Just switch your key binds to make power slide and air maneuvering to L1 or LB and switch boost to SQUARE or X, this makes no need for the claw because you can press boost and jump with your thumb at the same time after a little getting used to
Consider getting an elite controller for boost and airroll buttons makes these maneuvers a heck of a lot easier. Great tips. Main thing is to build consistency as well.
How can i write Something to psyonix? Cuz i done a trade Up and get White, cert revenants but its tradelock because, i had this black spider decal and it was tradelock, cuz i opened a hh crate with this halloween keys
I already knew all of these, but I think its awesome your letting the beginners in on this knowledge, another one I would say is instead of trying to hit the ball when someone is dribbling I would instead try to hit them, saved me countless times
i first started to learn fast aerials at champ 1, then went down to dia 2 because of 80.000 backflips. But yeah getting better and is very much worth to learn , but takes time.
#2 Quick aerial #3Fast aerial. My trick for #3 is removing my finger from the jump button as i pull back and then use my second jump. With practice you can do this just as fast as using claw.
An alternative to playing 'claw' is to just remap either the jump or the boost button onto one of your trigger buttons. I personally prefer using R1 for accelerator and L1 for reverse then setting L2 as either Air Roll or boost.
I almost always use the mid-boost aerial, but a lot of times my depths perception can be a little off and I fly over the ball. But I never hold my controller in that fancy way you showed us. I just don't like the feeling
If your having trouble air rolling what I did is change air roll to RB because RB doesn't really do anything and it's a lot easier to handle and took my less than a day to get accustomed to it
Great tutorial, but the last method is not the fastest way to start an aerial... I personally tap the "boost button" and the "jump button" at the exact same time twice and pull back between the two jumps. This gets you about the same amount of momentum as the method you provided in this video, but I feel that this method gives you a better chance at hitting the ball.
On your second tip, you forgot to mention its only useful for long ranged aerials or contested aerials. Otherwise getting that extra flip midair is more useful.
I almost always use the mid-boost aerial, but a lot of times my depths perception can be a little off and I fly over the ball. But I never hold my controller in that fancy way you showed us. I just don't like the feelinh
I still don’t know how to rocket fly.... Is there a video that walks you through this? I’ve been trying in training but all I do is flips and barely make it far enough in the air to hit the ball :/
i've been doing that mid-air aerial way before i saw this video (im at gold rank) but im not using that special handplacement what you showed i just jump pull back left joystick start boosting and then jump again. okay i play with ps4 so the controller is little bit diffrent but still i think thay you dont have to tho that hand placement
Has anyone ever told you that you say a lot of really unesesary things when trying to get a point across?
yes
Unesesary=unnecessary
Unnecessarily cool

If you want to turn around fast, just half flip
xEsuma or even just boost thru your drift 😂😂😂
It took me like 15 min to learn how to half flip but I’m still not that good at it
in my opinion, halfflip is easier with a flipcancel and airroll
Half flip is easy I just backflip, hold the left stick up and the car just turns itself into the right position most of the time

Angus McGeady I have had my Boost on R1 and Powerslide on L1 since i started im currently Diamond3 :)
Honestly I got a elite controller and I just put them on the paddles on the back
James Cook how childish of you
L1 for me.
Angus McGeady ya so u can turn ez to tye ball and shoot ez

but how do i go forward?
I know it's been 2 years since you asked this but just in case, you do it by really really wanting to. Lots of effort.
Its been 2 years and 6 months but you need to press S
I've made it to top 100 multiple times and these are my controls (PS4):
- Boost: R1 instead of Circle

:::::This is the fastest way up to the roof:::::
1. Jump and boost at the same time.
2. Adjust car up.
3. THEN press jump again while still boosting.
EviL_2mc why would I want to go to the roof
what hes trying to say is when you are on the roof you are ganna want to come down fast right? well this is the best way to do it, you have can in supersonic speed in just 12 boost, you boost a little then adjust the car so the back wheels are going to hit the ground first then you double jump forward
So you could fucking jump off it?
Or to get a ball under it?
Or to drive on it.
you just jump off and it makes you go really fast
In order to not play claw but still have the benefits of being able to boost and jump at the same time, i swtiched the boost (from O) to L1 on my controller. L1 was just the score board and i figured that i would never be boosting while going in reverse (which is L2).
So u don't have to play claw just put the boost button on r1 or rb depending on console
It's better to put it L1 then R1. More finger are free on the left side then the right
I already knew all these, but you refreshed my memory a bit.
Last time I was this fast,Harambe was still a meme.

for the fastest aerial, you have to hold boost the entire time on kickoff, even before you first jump. Your car moves faster while boosting on the ground than in the air, boosting before taking off for an aerial simply allows you to accelerate faster.

This gets you about the same amount of momentum as the method you provided in this video, but I feel that this method gives you a better chance at hitting the ball.
This is where I've been going wrong the whole time! Cheers dude!!
Nice video. Double jump helps me thwart gravity. Always is not a word
On your second tip, you forgot to mention its only useful for long ranged aerials or contested aerials. Otherwise getting that extra flip midair is more useful.
like altair from assassins creed, this is just the dude form rockets creed.
I do the mid boost aerial but I put my thumb between A,B or X,O and press which ones I need
I almost always use the mid-boost aerial, but a lot of times my depths perception can be a little off and I fly over the ball. But I never hold my controller in that fancy way you showed us. I just don't like the feelinh
I still don’t know how to rocket fly.... Is there a video that walks you through this? I’ve been trying in training but all I do is flips and barely make it far enough in the air to hit the ball :/
wait do u have to be champion in all competives to get the whells or is it just one?
Twxrl just one
i've been doing that mid-air aerial way before i saw this video (im at gold rank) but im not using that special handplacement what you showed i just jump pull back left joystick start boosting and then jump again. okay i play with ps4 so the controller is little bit diffrent but still i think thay you dont have to tho that hand placement
Can u make a tutorial video about how you do your kickoffs with the side roll thing. I would really like to know how to do that. Thx!!!
Steve Rundown u don't need a tutorial on how to do a shit kick off lmao
i prefer use the half flip, its better than the power slide in my opinion
