Oh that was awesome, just wanted to hear John Candy say Blowed up real good (it was in my head and wanted to relive it)! And I got an extra good laugh when they were talking about Scanners! Explosions in Movies were only cool in childhood, when Star Wars was first released... Many, Many children the world over, found the Special Effects in that Movie, amusing ...
I was having a bad day & needed a laugh. For some reason, this came to mind. Well, it worked! Hard to believe this skit is over 30 years old. Uh oh, now I'm sad again. Better rewatch it.
I used to think about executions on death row where the warden was talking to the press like this about the person that was just executed. Warden, did the prisoner suffer ? NO ! HE GOT BLOWED UP REAL GOOD ! HAHAHA !
Yeah, if you left within, say, a half an hour, you usually could get your money back. I remember seeing a pack of nuns getting their money back for History of the World Part 1, lol.
Boy, do I ever miss John Candy! This is classic comedy at it's best. Rest in peace, John
This is not the SCTV reunion I wanted - RIP Big Jim
This was one of the funniest things ever put on TV. Funnier than SNL by a long shot.
I loved SCTV back in the day and I miss John Candy something fierce.
What talent that show had. Battle of the PBS Stars, the Julia Child v. Fred Rogers boxing match, is priceless.
It was worth to stay up late at night. To watch SCTV on the weekend. True comedy.
I use this line in life now; blowed up good in that one, blowed up real good.
Together again. RIP

Wow, brings back memories, I liked the low budget feel to the show. Worth staying up for. A lot of stars were born there.

09/19/24: A sad example of stretching a 15-second joke into a 90-second Are We There Yet? mistake. GREAT actors, however. Deserved better.
