Right in front of axel is the bolt which holds the hanger and fiddling a cable around that would be way to complicated: 23:55 It's a little long, but you really wouldn't notice while riding and shouldn't be a problem. Yes, still the same. No real point in changing it since it seems to work perfectly and it's reasonably light as well. If you're not convinced you could take up the Bora Hans Grohe approach, they glued in a aluminium tube and use a traditional starnut. that's normal super glue to seal the cut. Not strictly necessary but we like to go the extra mile 😉👍
