Had to agree with the chaps on here. Lovely review. I’m on my second FR I had a 62 plate and I’m on a 16 plate FR Red edition 250 made. I think they’ve dropped it over the years from 1.8l now standard FR is 1.0l 7 gear (I know right?) I’ve read that a 1.0l now has the same kick as a 1.6l car? I’m 36 so I was an 80s child that you went off engine size. An 1982 A reg fiesta 1.0l popular when I was a teenager couldn’t hold 3 in the back and probably had 50bhp. Amazing how far we’ve come on technology. I do like my Ibiza. I get “poor mans polo GTI etc?” I don’t care. Same engine etc and FARRRRR more kit than VW would give.
Thank you Harvey - yeah, the new car looks great! When I first saw photos, I wasn't too sure on the back end styling, but it looks fine in real life. Thanks for watching mate!
I’m watching this again because I’m thinking about getting a 1.8 turbo but you reminded me of the ride quality haha. Might just go for a mk1 Leon cupra 180 instead. All depends on my job situation which may change soon meaning I won’t need a diesel anymore due to not having to do much driving
Car Obsession yeah maybe I’m just looking at 1.8 turbo cars in general I like them and generally are reliable if looked after. What kind of mpg you get local driving?
Depends on driving style of course, my Dad is driving it as his daily at the moment, not sure what he gets. When I drive the car around town (it's been a long time!) I would get around 26-28mpg.
Great film and really enjoyed the comparison, the new Ibiza certainly looks the part... except for those fake exhausts, what’s going on with new cars these days, they all seem to be getting them???
It's all just styling with the fake exhausts , it's really because cars in about ten years will all be electric, and fake exhaust styling I suppose is better than none , I suppose it ads a bit of aggression to what would probably look bland and not very sporty.
I have an Ibiza 2.0 TDI FR and can feel every bump in the road! I used to have a Skoda Fabia VRS 12 plate and suspension was a lot better. Efficiency on my Ibiza is brilliant though.. Average about 50ish mpg
Yeah, it's certainly not a smooth ride. I checked my rear tyres the other day and found they were both low, so I pumped them back up. The ride has improved of course, but it's still jiggly! Oh well, it's just part of the car's character I suppose. In all honesty I've kind of got used to it, but quite surprisingly, I've never had a passenger complain 🤔Thanks for watching Pro Mo211.
@@CarObsession Haha. Tbf mate, the facilities are great. Keep up the great work and I wish you every success. Thanks for your help with producing these reviews - I'm looking forward to ordering a new FR Sport over the next few days. I've been holding out for a nearly new 1.5 FR but they're like rocking horse sh*t.
Just to add, they must build a quality vehicle because I would have never guessed that you're car was 12 or 13 years old.or else youre really taking care of it.also i love that blue of the new car.i cant find a caterham i can afford. So im eyeing a triumph tr6 and a tr7.want the tr6,but may go with the tr7 because it is in far better condition.
Cheers buddy, I've tried to take care of it as much as I can, but it is rough around the edges. As you can see, it's missing a grille from the front - the original I believe was stolen (in the time I had the car). That may sound like a silly thing to say, because who want to to steal that(?) but having needed to remove the other one for track days, I know just how difficult they are to take off, therefore, there is no way it could have just fallen off whilst driven, plus I would have noticed it. The alloys are also kerbed to buggary, but as I mentioned in the video, a lot of them were there when I bought the car. Ok, I'm not afraid to admit that I've added one or two new scuffs throughout the years, but the alloys were never pristine to begin with. The bodywork has a few scratches/blemishes, but on the whole I think the car looks alright. Yes, the blue of the new car is SOOOOO nice. As much as I like Desire Red, Mystery Blue would definitely the next colour I'd opt for as I think it looks great. Good luck with the Triumph, it'd be pretty epic if you can get one of those - just remember it's like to break down and then! As always, thanks for watching!
Hi there, thanks for watching. They're both great cars and I don't think you can go wrong with either. I'd say the Fiesta is more fun, but the Ibiza feels a bit more grown up, and it has a bigger boot and better rear space.
Nice comparison I know the new fr is a better car but after all these years it’s not any more powerful. I’m surprised the fr has a 5 speed my old pd130 had 6 gears
Yeah, six gears would definitely make it a better cruiser on the motorway, and like you, I'm surprised it doesn't have six on the floor. Thanks for watching pal.
I think both look great, but I personally prefer the look of the new one. It looks so sleek and stylish, but looks will always be subjective. Thanks for watching pal.
Yes, nowadays its just about getting them produced and out there. Skimp on build material/quality , chuck electronics in jack up the price. So customer is paying more for less.
I like your videos because you come across and an honest and likeable guy
Thanks buddy! Thank you for watching 👍
agreed, very good presenter
Cadds Ah, you're too kind! Thanks for watching Cadds.

Hello Teddy, thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
Great comparison Aaron. Just shows how cars have progressed over the years.
Yup, it's crazy to think how much the equipment has improved throughout the last few years. Thanks for watching Andy.
The 6L Fr is for me the best produced Ibiza Fr.. and the 1.9 Pd 130 better as the 2.0tdi 143..... i drove both i prefer the old one...
Great comparison! Loving the sleek style of the new seat.
Thank you Harvey - yeah, the new car looks great! When I first saw photos, I wasn't too sure on the back end styling, but it looks fine in real life. Thanks for watching mate!
This is quality content, im saving up for my Seat Ibiza now :D
Thank you very much, Merry Christmas, thanks for watching.
@@CarObsession Merry christmas to you guys as well!

Yeah, the ride quality is pretty crap, but I'm sure a different set of springs or coilovers could fix the issue.
Car Obsession yeah maybe I’m just looking at 1.8 turbo cars in general I like them and generally are reliable if looked after. What kind of mpg you get local driving?

Car Obsession well that’s expected mpg I just want that turbo petrol sound haha
Great film and really enjoyed the comparison, the new Ibiza certainly looks the part... except for those fake exhausts, what’s going on with new cars these days, they all seem to be getting them???
thetyrerjones No idea, why put fake tips on when you can use real ones? Oh well, I suppose it's a small fly in the ointment. Thanks for watching pal!

Very curious if you would prefer seat Leon fr / seat Ibiza fr/ VW polo? And which year ?
Hi there, thanks for watching. I've bot driven the Polo, so I can't comment I'm afraid.
Great review Aaron 👍
Thanks Michael, really appreciate that feedback. Thanks for watching!
'Beautiful'? I've never heard Milton Keynes called that before. You did well to keep a straight face :D
I said it as a joke 😂Not even Stevie Wonder could class Milton Keynes as beautiful. Thanks for watching buddy.

I always wondered about seat.they arent in the states. Thanks aaron.
Interesting, I wonder why? 🤔
Am not sure if to get the ibiza or fiesta 🤔 as my first car
Hi there, thanks for watching. They're both great cars and I don't think you can go wrong with either. I'd say the Fiesta is more fun, but the Ibiza feels a bit more grown up, and it has a bigger boot and better rear space.

Car Obsession oh well at least they sorted the ride quality I hated that about my old Ibiza
Yeah, the ride quality in my car is crap, although it's been a while since I pumped the tyres up, so that probably isn't helping matters...
What size are your wheels? Mine was 16 think yours maybe 17
Mine are 17s mate.
is your new ibiza in mystery or mediterranean blue?
Hi there, it's not my car I'm afraid, but I can tell you it's Mystery Blue. Thanks for watching.
Just remap the 1.8t like I have 285lbft and 225hp
5372john I would have looked on to it, but I may be looking to replace the car soon, so it wouldn't be worth it. Thanks for watching.
Car Obsession it’s silly fast now beats vxrs and st fiestas and Costa’s and keeps up with focus st and subaru wrx sti
the old one is way better in design. i dont like that VW use the same platform across their range, lack of creative design these days
I think both look great, but I personally prefer the look of the new one. It looks so sleek and stylish, but looks will always be subjective. Thanks for watching pal.
It's cost saving, the main reason they are the biggest car maker in Europe
