Why? A Toyota Corolla has a beautiful naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine which is one of the most efficient in the world. A Corolla Hybrid gets under 3L/100km in the city. TSI gets 11L in the city!
I previously commented on some videos of this channel that it had no reviews of the Ibiza. It isn't the case, my apologies. You also happened to make the best-assorted and thought-of general Ibiza review that can be found on RUclips, and maybe the whole Internet.
Loved the videos as always. The cars all look great. 2 things i'd like to say...1/ my son had the old Ibiza SC and he so really likes the look of the new FR (we went to a showroom to have a sneak peek), and 2/ My family own cars with the 1.0 Tsi engine in a 75ps UP!, 110ps Polo R-line and a 115ps Audi A3. The turbo engines are excellent - very efficient, extremely quiet during normal driving, and when revved it sound great (I love it as it sounds like half a 911- maybe..). I think the 115ps Ibiza is the best to go for as not only do you get a little more power over the 95ps but you get a 6-speed gearbox for about £600 (FR spec) in the UK.
I can say the 1.5 is an pretty Good engine. Last week I did a dyno test and it has 162 hp instead of 150. Completely oem car. After 12000 km I can also say that the fuel usage is Good. Arround 16 km a liter. With regular driving. If you drive economic 20 km a liter is possible easely.
New Ibiza is a strong contender for our next small family car, and we're considering the exact 3 colors you're reviewing :) My main concern is not the power on 115 vs 95bhp but rather 6 vs 5 speed manual, also on the 95bhp it's drum breaks vs discs on 115? I wonder if all those are worth that extra over 95bhp version.
Thomas Blue, should suggest that to Seat. I personally ordered the Ibiza with the FR Bussiness Intense trim, Nevada White paint, 1.5 EVO TSI Engine, Full Led, Red Pack, FR Seats (Alcantara currently unavailable) 18'' Preformance Tires and it's a manual
Beatiful car - beautiful landscape 🔝 In my opinion the new Ibiza with the new MQB platform is definitely the best car in this segment ! The Ibiza is the best price - performance (!) car you can get in this size ! I really fell in love with the sexy and sporty looking FR 😍 My favourite engine: 1.5TSI 💪 The contemporary infotainment and the assistent-systems are creditable!!
I cant wait to see cupra on the market..i think will be the best hothatch for common people and common money..(i mean all around hatch with regular space inside and not like fiesta..)
Thank you for such a great review. I really wanted to see a comparison between the SE Technology & the FR and you did a great job. Two questions though 1. Was the Technology a much more comfortable ride than the FR (I will be doing mainly urban driving) was there really much difference? and 2. Which was the best for fuel consumption and what actual mileage figures were you getting to the litre (or in gallons if poss please as I'm in the UK). Again thank you for a great review...it was fun :-)
I remember looking at the e63 M6 and thinking that its 19" wheels looked monstrous, although it was needed to fit the monstrous front brakes, but now you can get an Ibiza with factory spec 19" wheels. I must admit though, because of the car's proportions, it fits the car nicely from a styling point of view and having the wheels at the corner actually makes the 19" wheels look more like 17s. Personally if money was no issue, i'd go for the FR with the 19" wheels, but i'd probably end up regretting them once they start becoming curbed and after the honeymoon period is over.
Keep in mind that wheel size affects your back, I mean, the hits your lower backbone receives when the car hits a bump. It also affects steering agility and feeling of agility on the other end. For cars of the class of the Ibiza, 17" is the larger wheel size that is wise to get. Above that, your backbone is going to be hit quite harshly. Things change with larger cars.
Hi. I really appreciate your videos :) I have 2 questions for you. In terms of comfort how would you compare the Ibiza fr that was driven in this video in the normal mode and the one (fr) that was driven without the adaptive suspension in the other video? Does the Ibiza that has the panoramic roof adds the back seats reading lights? Thanks. Keep making those videos!
Autogefühl thanks for your answer. If I want a compact car with a 1.5 TSI good for long comfortable trips I guess that the Polo Highline may be a better option as it also has DSG as an option (I bet that Ibiza fr 1.5 won't have it - that's what I read from spanish car websites)
How does it compare to the older polo, in terms of comfort, handling, speed and quietness? Realise its a big question but would really appreciate a reply, thanks.
Autogefühl I'm really interested to take my Cupra from UK to Europe as there's so much more smooth, road to enjoy and weather, can you tell me where you video your drives?
That huge chunk of "piano black" materials on the dash and doors would drive me crazy with the reflections and dust. I generally like the exterior design of the Ibiza, but I think the new Fiesta is better in every other way.
That glossy part of the dash feels cheap. I was hoping that they wouldn't include that in the new generation Polo as an interior design element, but I unfortunately it is there just like the Ibiza.
Only in terms of design and drive feeling (sport vs confort) do they actually seem to differ. Even the quality of the materials used seems to be similar...
Nice video, but it would be nice to hear more about how the 1.5L engine is different, an 0-100kmh test for example, is it alot smoother than the 3-cylinder engines, alot quieter. thank you :)
Once again, great review Thomas! I have a question. Which engine is better in terms of fuel consumption in motorway? The 1.0 tsi or the 1.5 with act? I have the impression that if you don't hammer it (i.e. around 110-120 km/hr) the act technology and higher power of 1.5 would save more fuel. Is that true?
Damn, I'm really looking forward to my Desire-Red Ibiza FR 1.5 TSI evo coming possibly end of this year. :) I like it to be bigger and more like a Sub-Compact-Car. It's the better Leon in my opinion for moderate demands.
I’m a short ass and I get terrible back pain in the MQB A0 polo from the terrible seats that have no lower back support, is this Ibiza the same? Do the micro suede seats support the lower back any better? This never seems to be covered in autogefuhl videos, apart from that I love the channel :)
Well as I said, its always comfort vs sportiness, decide whats more important to you. The small steps are not that significant, but if you then compare 2 inch difference, that makes a difference
Autogefühl Thanks, I was aware. But personally speaking, it would be much more useful, for a buying decision, to get a clear and concise comparison between the Ibiza and Fabia. Many thanks for the amazing work in these car reviewes
What's the point od testing different versions if they are equipped with additional features? Where is standard 5" screen? Where is manual aircondition? Such comparsion is pointless.
Yeah i know, but you must say that this comparsion shows nothing to people, who are interested in buying ibiza. No matter if it's Style or Exellence they both are equipped in pretty similar way. So in my opinion, there is no need to show 3 different cars, because they differ mainly in paint.
I am sorry, but I am probably one of the few people who were a tad disappointed with this video. Some constructive criticism: When you are comparing 3 engines (one of them in the "hot hatch" territory), it would be wise to push them a little and comment on their acceleration, refinement, engine note etc. At least that's what I expected when I came her.. The way you were driving the 1.5 tsi did not make any sense - if you are driving 60 km/h like you did here, you cannot show the car's potential. If the road did not permit it, just find the appropriate place! I have been watching other reviews of yours and I sense that Thomas is not the "racer boy" type person and that's fine, just not when it comes to sportier cars!
Find me an appropriate place on Ibiza to race legally. My driving license is my job insurance. I cant afford to lose it. When we have the chance to drive on a racetrack or on a free German Autobahn part we can let it fly, otherwise not. Safety first, driving license second. It's not worth it just to show off.
It's not a matter of showing off... It's a matter of showcasing the car's abilities - driving a small pocket rocket with 60 km/h is a waste of potential. A 0-100 km/h test (or whatever the local speed limit is) would have been a good first step... I did not hear a word about the difference in sound between the 3 potter and its bigger brother. I am not nitpicking here, just expressing my disappointment, because I was expecting to see a bit more. If Ibiza is the only problem, then bring the car to a highway or even better an autobahn! Again, no hard feelings - just my 2 cents...
Been driving the Fiesta for the past 4 decades. Test drove both and there's hardly anything in it. Unfortunetly the Fiesta now has no room in the back and the afterthought 'add on' screen on the dash is horrendous, so I'm going with the Ibiza. It pains me to say it but I think the Ibiza is just much more practical and Ford have really missed the mark this time. I hope Ford will take note and completely redesign the Fiesta and give it a more modern feel...then I'll be back.

nice choice =)
how is the car??
One of the best reviews so far, really good job. Camera wise and cutting. 👍
glad u like it !
Just ordered my very own Seat Ibiza Xcellence 115hp! Had to watch this video for the 3rd time. Love it!
enjoy =)
@@autogefuehl Thanks a lot!

I really like the FR version.
As usual great video, and again must say love the way you show us different trim levels👍👍👍
+strasnodimke 🎬👌
Thank you Thomas. i have been watching your reviews and that of AJ. last week i got one Ibiza. really it is a great feel. no regrets. thanks.
thanks andrew - and enjoy :)

danke dir =)
Danke
I highly appreciate this different trim lvls review. It helps the buyer making the right choice.
Hope you do the same with the Polo and the Fiesta.
+Devil's .Breath thx! We do have something similar with the new fiesta, with a trim level part and gps sizes etc. youtube search autogefuehl fiesta

At last, my next fix of Autogefühl!!! Please don't leave it so long next time ...... that was like cold turkey..
enjoy =)
nice video, Leon need the same FR vs Excellence comparison video Thomas
thanks Mladen!
New Ibiza is a strong contender for our next small family car, and we're considering the exact 3 colors you're reviewing :) My main concern is not the power on 115 vs 95bhp but rather 6 vs 5 speed manual, also on the 95bhp it's drum breaks vs discs on 115? Best review I've seen for this car!
Thomas Blue, should suggest that to Seat.
I personally ordered the Ibiza with the FR Bussiness Intense trim, Nevada White paint, 1.5 EVO TSI Engine, Full Led, Red Pack, FR Seats (Alcantara currently unavailable)
18'' Preformance Tires and it's a manual
Nice!!
What colour white is the base or Nevada ? and what is the difference ? thanks
Thomas you are the man! ♥️
yiha!
Beatiful car - beautiful landscape 🔝
In my opinion the new Ibiza with the new MQB platform is definitely the best car in this segment !
The Ibiza is the best price - performance (!) car you can get in this size !
I really fell in love with the sexy and sporty looking FR 😍 My favourite engine: 1.5TSI 💪 The contemporary infotainment and the assistent-systems are creditable!!
aye!
I cant wait to see cupra on the market..i think will be the best hothatch for common people and common money..(i mean all around hatch with regular space inside and not like fiesta..)
Why?
One of the best reviews so far, you helped me a lot. Im interested in buying the style version. What's the cost of the additional navigation?
Thanks
thanks keep joining us! that depends from market to market and maybe also on the trim. U have to check it in the configurator or price list
I think the desire red with 18" wheels looks the best especially in Fr trim.
For me FR 18" Mystery Blue =)
great review!! i would probably go for the style trim but with those beautiful FR rims!!
thanks m8 !
Thank you for such a great review. I really wanted to see a comparison between the SE Technology & the FR and you did a great job. Two questions though 1. Was the Technology a much more comfortable ride than the FR (I will be doing mainly urban driving) was there really much difference? and 2. Again thank you for a great review...it was fun :-)
Thanks! I think i mentioned the consumption in the driving part
Yes but I couldn't hear you and the subs make no sense
I remember looking at the e63 M6 and thinking that its 19" wheels looked monstrous, although it was needed to fit the monstrous front brakes, but now you can get an Ibiza with factory spec 19" wheels. I must admit though, because of the car's proportions, it fits the car nicely from a styling point of view and having the wheels at the corner actually makes the 19" wheels look more like 17s. i thought 18" is max
My mistake lol.
np :)
best recipe: watch full length =)
I was just comparing 19" M6 E63 wheels needed for the brakes to the 18" Ibiza wheels used for styling. I guess i got carried away with the M6.
Another great and most detailed video!
Please reviw the SEAT LEON FR TDI 184 next!
+Aizak thanks!
Very nice Thomas. When to expect skoda karoq full review?
thx! just some weeks left
Hi. I really appreciate your videos :)
I have 2 questions for you.
In terms of comfort how would you compare the Ibiza fr that was driven in this video in the normal mode and the one (fr) that was driven without the adaptive suspension in the other video?
Does the Ibiza that has the panoramic roof adds the back seats reading lights?
Thanks. Keep making those videos!
thanks! I didnt see rear reading lights.
Adaptive suspension is only useful if you want a stiffer mode for sportier riding
Autogefühl thanks for your answer. If I want a compact car with a 1.5 TSI good for long comfortable trips I guess that the Polo Highline may be a better option as it also has DSG as an option (I bet that Ibiza fr 1.5 won't have it - that's what I read from spanish car websites)
hmm, good question. I ll try to resolve it. Afaik the DSG will come at some point, that's my information so far, just later
How does it compare to the older polo, in terms of comfort, handling, speed and quietness? Realise its a big question but would really appreciate a reply, thanks.
+Tom Elwood youtube search autogefuehl vw polo and u ll also find the older reviews
First time to watch your videos I must say, love your relaxed review style, find your voice relaxing to listen to!
you re welcome !
Autogefühl I'm really interested to take my Cupra from UK to Europe as there's so much more smooth, road to enjoy and weather, can you tell me where you video your drives?
+shinbo watch full length and u ll know :)
Can i ask please, if you noticed much of a handling difference between the FR and the Xcellence models?
That huge chunk of "piano black" materials on the dash and doors would drive me crazy with the reflections and dust. I generally like the exterior design of the Ibiza, but I think the new Fiesta is better in every other way.
The new Fiesta interior is dreadful. Screen just stuck on the dashboard with no thought of design
That glossy part of the dash feels cheap. I was hoping that they wouldn't include that in the new generation Polo as an interior design element, but I unfortunately it is there just like the Ibiza.
If you could choose Ibiza or Leon which one would it be and why ? Or maybe VW polo?
Last but not least which models of those 3 have ambient lighting?
Since I am quite tall I would rather go for the Leon or Golf 7
What's your opinion regarding new Seat Ibiza VS. new Volkswagen Polo? Is the Polo really worth the extra money? They seem so much alike...
they are indeed much alike
Only in terms of design and drive feeling (sport vs confort) do they actually seem to differ. Even the quality of the materials used seems to be similar...
Check out the Polo GTI: ruclips.net/video/AlKppE4s_F4/видео.html
Lol whats that sound at 11:32
i have no idea, dont remember. Maybe some unloading of goods outside or a small dog barking
Nice video, but it would be nice to hear more about how the 1.5L engine is different, an 0-100kmh test for example, is it alot smoother than the 3-cylinder engines, alot quieter. thank you :)
Is normal mode with DCC the same thing as what you get without DCC or is it softer?
Once again, great review Thomas!
I have a question. Which engine is better in terms of fuel consumption in motorway? The 1.0 tsi or the 1.5 with act? I have the impression that if you don't hammer it (i.e. around 110-120 km/hr) the act technology and higher power of 1.5 would save more fuel. Is that true?
hey! The bigger engine will indeed do better on the consumption
Which one has better insulation? New ibiza or new polo?
Damn, I'm really looking forward to my Desire-Red Ibiza FR 1.5 TSI evo coming possibly end of this year. :)
I like it to be bigger and more like a Sub-Compact-Car. It's the better Leon in my opinion for moderate demands.
graet choice!
Yea that blue sure is gorgeous!
indeed!
great job again thomas . luv the FR . whats the sound track used on the intro ? really luv that tune
thanks! we use different royalty free tunes
I bought a 2016 leon fr, now i see that was a waste of money, pretty much same thing as the 2017/18 ibiza
I’m a short ass and I get terrible back pain in the MQB A0 polo from the terrible seats that have no lower back support, is this Ibiza the same? Do the micro suede seats support the lower back any better? This never seems to be covered in autogefuhl videos, apart from that I love the channel :)
To me the sports seat are better, see my explanation in the video
Volkswagen is for tall people
Great review. Hope you will also do a comparison of the Ibiza and the polo.
thanks! Check out the linked reviews in the video description
Excellent video
Awesome review, great job. And that watch is the coolest.
😎
Did you feel any differece between the 17 and 16 inch wheels in comfort , noise or steering
Well as I said, its always comfort vs sportiness, decide whats more important to you. The small steps are not that significant, but if you then compare 2 inch difference, that makes a difference
does the fr 1.5 version have fake exhaust ?
Is there a comparison between SEAT IBIZA 1 Liter engine and the Skoda Fabia 1 Liter engine ?
here is our latest fabia review: ruclips.net/video/rKZMkIhAG6M/видео.html

Many thanks for the amazing work in these car reviewes
What's the point od testing different versions if they are equipped with additional features? Where is standard 5" screen? Where is manual aircondition? Such comparsion is pointless.
+walooss we love to show base models but usually they are not available
Yeah i know, but you must say that this comparsion shows nothing to people, who are interested in buying ibiza. No matter if it's Style or Exellence they both are equipped in pretty similar way. So in my opinion, there is no need to show 3 different cars, because they differ mainly in paint.
walooss if you see only difference in paint, you need to watch the video again
Great video, thanks!
Can somebody tell me which car is the fr and the standard one?
I would avoid Seat. They're known for their problems.
A Toyota Corolla is better built and will help you save money on the long term.
What is the best color
White
I can change de eco Mode on seat style?
U mean the driving mode? Usually u can always change that
is it candy white or nevada?
Autogefühl?
setting a shot like the one around 4:00 to talk about the exterior in a place wee the ground is not flat makes the shot look really bad.
I found it nice to have something different / spiced up
Thomas Blue one !!
+LEE AVISON 😎
I am sorry, but I am probably one of the few people who were a tad disappointed with this video. awww first and still 360p im waiting for 720p
portray anyone watch larger than this virsion ?
Video compositing quality is not appropriate
great car
Just Buy the Ford Fiesta.
Drives Better and Better Value in 5 years time..
peter debel already did after driving both. :)
