After decluttering everything I own in a sustainable way and living an extreme minimalist lifestyle for some time now. I have realised an added benefit is that it is a motivation to spend less. The value of having a calm, stress free and neutral space in my extreme minimalist home outweighs the want to buy things or have stuff. Hence, it saves me money. Enables me to be more mindful and intentional about what I buy. Due to the paramount value of owning and having less clutter in our extreme tiny home. In which, owning even an average amount of possessions would be overwhelming, stifling and bothersome. This is why now I keep my home minimal and my belongings to a minimum. Which has the added bonus of being great for financial minimalism and savings. Savings to spend on future endeavours, investments and experiences. Love this, very inspiring. I've just moved to a smaller apartment. It was exhausting, and I've spent weeks packing and organising. My things don't fit, so I need to declutter more.
Being able to put everything you have into one bag has been a great motivator during my current trip to not buy a bunch of souvenirs. I am using my Fjalraven Kanken for a 30 day trip around France. I have bought one sticker and one hanging hand sanitizer holder. This is waaaayyyy less than my past self would have bought.
I've been getting rid of things in preparation for moving and am really loving the empty spaces. I don't know that I could ever be furniture-free, but besides a bed, a chair, and a side table for my e-reader, I'm not sure what else I would want in my new space.
I would love to be more minimal. I am currently fed up of friends and family buying me things they think i need ( but i dont!) . They also like to see me spend my money on foods ( Im quite happy with a simple diet); or on clothes ( I like my plain wardrobe); or on meals out ( I like the odd one but really - every week?). It is begining to make me quite angry. But I love them, even if I have no desire to be like them, so I play along and use subterfuge to try to find space and time to my own thing.
It is a tricky one. It’s become so normalised for people to go out all the time spending money. Lately, I’ve just had to be firm with people. Saying, it’s not that I don’t want to spend time with you, but unless we can find something free or budget friendly to do, I cannot come because I am saving for my future. Since I started to do it my saving potential has doubled. It’s astonishing how much of a difference it has made 😊
Not long found your channel, love how you radiate positivity (you are a breath of fresh air) and your future plans sound so exciting. Apologies, if you have already spoken about this, but what water filters are you using for your drinking water and in the shower, there are so many on the market, it’s really hard to know which ones to go for.
Thank You very much that is lovely. 🥰 The filters are a mixture of mineral & carbon beads on the shower. Then on all the taps there is an additional cotton filter system. They don’t completely make hard water go away but they do soften it slightly. I am sure there are better more expensive ones if we were planning to stay in the property 😊 🚰
I love how minimal you've made your space (even though we know it's not just the aesthetic). I'm much more mindful about not bringing more into the home and cluttering it up with 'stuff'. However, with a new pooch on the way I think it's going to be challenging 😂
Thank You ☺️…😂 😂 yes the pooches do their thing 😂 when we have Charlie round, there are blankets everywhere. Toys all over the floor. His food on the work surfaces as we don’t have 1 inch to spare in our kitchen cupboards. But they’re worth it aren’t they 😂 🐾

I try not to buy something unless I love it because everything else eventually gets decluttered.
Exactly 😊
