Well worth a vid in the future and put the 2 together. Didn’t get the black mirrors then and laughted a lot when I saw the start of this vid! Lol! Damnnnnnnnn . • @94RS
    @94RS 5 лет назад +323

    Something doesn’t seem right here. You’re 19, you seem to exclaim that you’re paying for things outright. You say you saved up the 29k for a long time, and then out the blue, on a golf you decide you blow 29k of savings. Now for somebody to have the financial wisdom/knowledge to acquire the 29k in such a short time (3 years from the legal age to work) to make such a ill-advised financial decision to dump all their savings into a heavily deprecating asset such as a car does not make sense. Now either you’re not being as transparent with how well off you actually are, and this 29k is merely chump change, or you have loaned out/financed the car, and kept the remaining of your savings for future mods/insurance and tax ect. Which would also make sense why you decided to even mention that you didn’t finance the car or insurance.

      What’s his own business then Blower? Because owning your own bossiness does not automatically make you have thousands stashed in the bank at 19 mate. It doesn’t add up. Either the guy has had a nice injection of cash from an external provider (not hinting anything there) or he has the car on finance/leased, which is not a bad thing might I add, for somebody to just dump so much capital into a depreciating asset such as a 29k car, especially with the ridiculous inflated prices today, is no better way to say it “financial disaster”.

    • @94RS
      @94RS 5 лет назад +40

      blower what I think is obvious to me, is that I’m arguing with kids about finances. Go out into the real world, acquire that 29k for yourself, and then come back to me and tell me how sensible it would be, to dump all that capital graft into a second hand golf.

    • @94RS
      @94RS 5 лет назад +65

      blower 3 months old with 9k miles on it!? Definitely been ragged about that’s for sure! Seriously though, just get these type of cars on a finance plan. They’re seriously not worth the listing price. They’re not worth investing (if you can call it that) thousands of £££ of capital when they’re designed to be a quick finance money making machine. You had 37k... why on earth blow that on a 2.0L golf! Ludicrous. And you’re supposed to be 41, how long did it take you to acquire that 37k? Must of grafted your ass off for what, a 2.0L golf. God some people.

    I was looking at a Golf R, a Audi S3, Focus RS mk3, cupra st 4x4 or the type R fk8. In the end I decided to go full mid life crisis with a Type R ex demo with 400miles on the clock.
    I only had to pay £140 tax, full comp protected insurance is less than £260 (because in mid life crisis age) and got 5 years servicing for £599.
    The golf R is a quick understated grown up car and was so close to getting one in blue.

    Interesting and informative video. I purchased my Golf R in 2014, decided to go for a new as I wanted a particular specification, 5 door, DSG, sunroof, leather etc.. I was initially looking to purchase a new Gti but managed to find an excellent deal on the R by using Carwow. Insurance was the biggest surprise for me, using Admiral Multicar policy I can insure both the R and my VW Up for just under £400. Having said that I am in my late 50’s and have maximum no-claims. Enjoy your R.

      He evidently deletes a lot of comments to try stop people knowing he’s a trust fund kid. If it isn’t the Golf R bought in cash at 19 that makes it blatantly obvious it’s how much he acts like Alan Partridge.
      All I know is I’d feel a bit embarrassed if I were him, but that’s me. He’s clearly very pleased with himself.
      I just bought my 2015 Golf R estate for 20k. Incredible spec and one beautiful car. I’m 32 and invested everything I made from over a decade of working in local government into properties before finally deciding I could treat myself. I consider myself extremely fortunate.

    it`s funny how some people react when you give them this kind of info. Instead of comparing yourselves you should pay attention to the info he is giving you. So, if you are in a market for a golf R you know what you should expect. And on a last note, instead of looking at what others are doing, try to make this kind of money yourselves. I’m 24 with 5years no claims, my last years insurance was £586 that’s at 9k mile p/a. My fuel costs are roughly £25-35/week. I’ve rarely seen my mpg drop below 26 even on a ragging trip. This is an excellent video, very informative and transparent. It would be great for all of us if we could be more open with how much we pay for things, it could really drive prices down across the board. As for the Golf R, the mpg sounds very poor compared to a Golf Gti pp which will easily do 10mpg more under each of those conditions. The insurance is way lower for a Gti pp and tyre life is much better. I’d have either the R or the Gti pp without hesitation but one is much more costly in all areas without a lot to show for it. I do think this is the most relevant car video I’ve seen on YT, well done. IMHO, AFAIC etc
