    Nice car. I like the fact that you made it yours and with a flair that is quite different. I am in the process of restoring my 70 GTX. I have owned it since 79. It was previously owned by two brothers. Engine is finished. Rebuilt front end. I have all the necessary body pieces and interior to put it back together. New bumpers. Total interior just waiting to install. The color is Deep Burnt Orange. If I had welding skills I would be painting it now. Drive it and enjoy it. That is where the real enthusiasts finds the magic of ownership.

      @randylear8264 I tend to paint just about every vehicle I get, I learned everything from doing it, it's gotten me pretty far. I'm planning on starting school for auto body so I can get better and hopefully help other people with classic cars, it's a real delima with body shops now a days they focus on insurance jobs and for good reason it's much faster and more profitable.

      @@danachick6898 I agree. I am retired and have been working on cars since I was 15. I can rebuild engines and put clutches in. Tune them and rebuild carbs. But body work is new to me. I have a paint booth and I have been painting a lot of the body parts. So far they have been under the trunk lid. Under the fenders and inner door. Also painted the engine bay. Two stage base and clear. I hope to be proficient by the time I lay down paint on the outside of the body. I like your can do attitude. If you want it done right. Do it yourself. I just might take a course in welding. Paint and body would be a good idea too. I sure have the time😂

      @randylear8264 My good friend I call E body Evan filled the mechanic gap I was lacking when doing projects. Alot of car building works well when you have two people that bring something to the table, it also makes a better product all around. Thankfully my Gi Bill can be put to use on something useful. I have no doubt you will paint your car and have a nice product.

    I was given a '69 Swinger 340, it's solid. Parked in '82, the car suffered a lot of "Hillbilly engineering" in the late-'70's. '68 RR 383 powertrain, rear end replaced the A-body version (shackles, air shocks, springs tweaked-), T-bird buckets cobbled in...the most expensive thing has been getting the small pieces straightened up & all. The wheels look like Mopar vintage cop wheels- I like the brown color you used on them & the hood call outs. The car is cool

      @olikat8 That swinger sounds nice! Thanks for noticing the details. I wanted to paint the rims something besides black, the metallic brownish copper does it for me!

      @@danachick6898 completely understand. I, too, would not pay decent money for a clean malaise sedan. Once I got here to NC, I started working on it as a solid driver & performer. Funny thing? It gets a ton or attention- people want to talk about their experiences with the A-bodies, smiles, thumbs up, & waves; even have been video'd driving it twice on the highway. If you see footage of the 2024 Southern Classic, the beige-ish Valiant? Me.

    Think it’s looks great, I would rather have a 68 383 sport satellite then a 68 383 RR, satellites had more options and there cheaper. In my book the only mistake people do on mopars in my opinion is paint the engine compartment black, not much for clones or recreation though. Probably badge it as a satellite but GTX looks fine, I would think if it still had its satellite badges you would get people freaking that it has a 440 lol. There was suppose to be some rare hemi satellites out there never seen one……at least 68 to 70 ones. Anyway great car love it.

      @carebear2272 thanks man, I guess I hadn't thought about putting the satellite badging on it, it would be cool. I think the hood would throw some people off. Some of these guys freak out if one detal is off. Thanks for the comments much appreciated.

    • @carebear2272
      @carebear2272 Месяц назад +1

      Yes but you can say it’s just a Satellite, it came with the badging when I got it. Most of the time it’s just interesting to find out what it was born with from the factory, and I’m a 68 nut. My brother had a light blue 68 satellite in high school then he went to a 69 Camaro, that’s why I thought the badges put back on your car would look cool because it would remind me of a high school car. I had a 74 duster in high school. I have a 68 charger now in restoration, it’s getting its vinyl top and head liner put on this next week. Knowing what time and money I have into my car, if I had to do it over I would find a car like yours or a plane 68 coronet with at least a 318 and do what you did or if the paint and body not rusted though leave it. My car was real solid except the front and rear window channels, when it rained it came threw under thaw dash on to the flow like a stream, I was surprised I badly had any rust on the floor besides on drain plug had a little

    • @danachick6898
      @danachick6898  Месяц назад

      @carebear2272 would love to get my hands on a 68 or 69 charger, but I'm at the point now where I ask myself when is it enough, I have 7 vehicles and still want more haha. There is something about making a car your own fun, if this was a real GTX I would be making it close to factory resto. It's like my buddy's challenger I did, way better off doing an r/t clone and making the car what you want vs chasing every oem part. I guess now a days calling it a "tribute" is better than a "clone". Just kinda funny, if I put rubicon on my jeep I'm a poser if I do it 30 years from now it's a tribute.

      @tomwaytula90 it's a dented bumper, not a rare antique worth millions. I get what you're saying, but he named his price. I would expect sellers to do their research. I have given parts away worth more. I honestly would have kept the painted bumper but just happened to see this one by luck. Last note I gave the other bumper away for free.

    • @danachick6898
      @danachick6898  5 дней назад

      @JamesJuberian So you would restore back to an original 318 satellite? Keeping in mind the seats were already done and it was already previously GTX cloned. I do see where your coming from and understand nothing on this car can't easily be undone. I would like to here your thoughts on B-bodies with racing seats and 20" rims, not my style but that's how some like to build them. Me personally I like a ratty mopar with a 70s muscle car look. If this was a real GTX I would not have built it this way, however being a satellite previously cloned I feel it gives the freedom to build it how I want without shame. If you would like to purchase it from me and do a concourse restoration you are more than welcome.
