I think this scene has got to be one of, if not, the most genius pieces of script ever. The double meaning, the misunderstanding, the sense of invading someone's privacy having your photo taken by someone you don't know. The awkwardness, the people around just staring, where you would also be wondering what are they thinking, the worry, to the rage of the other guy rushing at him and shoving him out the door to "get out". All of these overlap in this one scene. The context/plot/summary/cliff hanger is all in this one scene where it gives away what's going on; yet you don't know/realise/figure this out until later on. Genius
Yeah i'm just thinking what a complete fuckwit logan was. Wouldn't this moment be like all you're thinking about all the time? "if i magically got control back what would I do? how would I save myself/someone else in the same spot as me?" Alerting your captors to the fact that you're back in control literally immediately would be at the bottom of viable options in that situation.
If he would’ve said “run” they’ve would’ve known he got out of the sunken place so he was hiding what he was saying by making them think he was mad but he was warning him. But......either way they found out!
After the movie ends, I want Rod and Chris to rescue Andre/Logan (with like black-only psychologists/doctors to help with the transition because that other guy also blew his head off after coming out) - and then slaughter all the folks who went to the auction. TF Motherfucking A, make it happen!
Burnt Orange Even if they were able to get any more evidence, other than the picture of andre/logan, (hard since house/lab burned down) I would NOT trust the police to believe their story. Did you see the ALTERNATE ENDING?
At the point where his nose starts bleeding, if you turn up the sound, you can hear bubbling of water similar to when you rise to the surface from underwater. I think this resembles the man rising up from the sunken place to regain control of his body. Idk just a thought.
In "How to Write Literature Like a Professor", whenever a character figuratively or literally submerges under water or in a similar state, it's usually a transformation into something else. If a character gets back up, they become a different person. If a character stays submerged, it means that they died, either literally or figuratively.
Love that almost all of Andre's words can be interpreted differently if you already know the twist of the movie. Makes multiple viewings of this movie truly special.
Fr like even rose didn’t even give Chris the keys knowing she had the keys rose just dgaf like bruh that’s why I don’t want to get a girlfriend now because they can set you up
Exactly! “Logan” had his freakin’ head cut open! He was probably in a state of delirium and instant panic, realizing only for a moment he had control with his body-but could only muster out the only couple words that his consciousness could spew out. He knew they’d shut him up faster than he could explain anything else, which he most likely didn’t have enough cognitive function anymore to do so.
When "Logan" mentions having no desire to leave the house or be in the city, I think they found out that Andre has been pronounced missing in the public and so he and his "wife" stay home most of the time.
yeah.. that'll help him escape the sunken place for a while but that brain is still in his head and his real one was probably destroyed... so Logan king is a permanent parasite in him now...
I noticed that too! The guy is a good actor you can see the horror in his face that he's been away for some time and once he came to surface and gain control back of hisself the first thing he did was tell the guy in him to get out then tried warning Chris to get out bc he was the next victim. Can't imagine how horrifying it is to have someone else taking control of your body and all you can do is just watch from a very dark place while someone else lives your life for you for eternity. There's never escaping it once it's done. Even when your true self comes to surface the majority of control belongs to that older white man now. He would have came back on his own. The original kids body doesn't belong to him anymore, he was gonna have to go back in the sunken place eventually 🥺😢

Let's not forget that at the end of the movie, Andre still is stuck as a spectator. Chris never killed him so that means he is still out there watching a white man use his body.
@@BadOmens17 if you really think about it that's not funny at all. It's sexual abuse bc it's against his wishes. It isn't consensual. It's still his body, he just has no control over what happens to him anymore that if this were real life that would be absolutely heart breaking and terrifying!

One of the main problems with some "horror films", is that all they use are jumpscares. This film has buildup, a clever twist making each scare and action frighten one.
I love rewatching this scene because it's one of those scenes that has a completely different meaning the second time. Andre's not threatening chris, he's warning him.
Comedy is akin to tragedy. "Comedy of Horrors", "Dante's Divine Comedy", Satan/Evil is equally funny as it is horrid. If you _truly_ think about it... Most things are. This is why it's oft a saving grace when we don't think too deeply. Hence, "ignorance is bliss." Rather, as I say, "oblivion is bliss." Alas, some of us aren't afforded that option (particularly Water and some Air signs of the zodiac). We must _actively_ walk our minds into delusion in order to try.
What makes this scene so disturbing is just how dark and mysterious it is. The flash obviously, triggers the person that is trapped inside of Andre. But the scariest part is the face of absolute pure terror on LaKeith’s face and the horrific yelling that is actually coming from the person that is trapped that finally got to speak and BEGGING Chris to Get Out. Also, “Get Out” can mean so many things. It can be that he is warning Chris or telling the voice of the old person (idk who it is) that is in his head.
Evan Eduard in the sequel (if they make one) they should get one of robs friends to date rose, he goes to her house, then he saves her as well as all the other people there.
All of their victims wear a hat for that reason. It is clearly shown at the end of the movie, when the grandpa takes off hia hat and you can clearly see the scars on his head.
0:30 They were all literally asking him questions about his ability and physique so they can see if he's worth bidding on and if they are willing to put their brain in his body. The one guy even says he likes Tiger Woods and golfing and asks Chris if he is any good. The guy knew he could play Golf without any pain in Chris's body. This part is crazy when you realize this whole meeting was an auction, and Chris is being sold.

With the knowledge of how the procedure works, leaving a 0.01% of the original person, it makes Andre's outburst so powerful; the fear and desperation to warn Chris by overpowering Logan's control of the 99.99% puts it into perspective how horrible a fate it is.

I have to go back and see if it’s the same with “the grandparents.”

@@gordonlekfors2708It’s almost as if it’s a metaphor within itself
I think this scene has got to be one of, if not, the most genius pieces of script ever.
The double meaning, the misunderstanding, the sense of invading someone's privacy having your photo taken by someone you don't know. The awkwardness, the people around just staring, where you would also be wondering what are they thinking, the worry, to the rage of the other guy rushing at him and shoving him out the door to "get out". All of these overlap in this one scene. The context/plot/summary/cliff hanger is all in this one scene where it gives away what's going on; yet you don't know/realise/figure this out until later on. Genius
To be truly honest, if Logan said “Run!” instead of “Get Out!”, Chris would’ve dipped.
He should have taken his hat off...
Then the movie would called "run" lol
There are actors simply following a written script.
If he would’ve said “run” they’ve would’ve known he got out of the sunken place so he was hiding what he was saying by making them think he was mad but he was warning him. But......either way they found out!
The worse thing is Logan is still in his situation by the end of the movie.
After the movie ends, I want Rod and Chris to rescue Andre/Logan (with like black-only psychologists/doctors to help with the transition because that other guy also blew his head off after coming out) - and then slaughter all the folks who went to the auction. TF Motherfucking A, make it happen!
Hell yeah.

Thats why its not even possible for a person to be able to speak when he has only the hind brain
It's a fusion the original consciousness tookover the whole brain for a short time
You mean Andre
If they ever make a Get Out 2 it should be Chris and Ron saving Logan. It sucks knowing he was still in this situation...

@@CrazyManhog how so? The old man could maintain control of andre’s body until he dies. It’s not like his brain would die and his body wouldn’t?
The abrupt and gradual transitions between the dissociative states are so well acted. Big props to the actor. How the old man inside subsides, makes place for the abyss, after which his true self gradually shows his extreme terror as he gets a temporary grip on reality. The way the abyss and his true self alternate between each other is so, so good.
When you watch the movie a second time, you realize how much the girlfriend and mom played along the whole time.
And it is reflective of how people act embarrassed by a family members racism but just shake their hand and smile, doing nothing to stop it.
This entire movie is a microcosm of the "black experience".
Exactly
If only he took his hat off. Chris would have seen the SCAR from the surgery!!
Omg, good eye. The female housekeeper wears a wig. Shit, so much detail in this movie!
Somebody needs to take a picture of Kanye and Tristan Thompson, get them back to normal.
kanyecollier 😂
kanyecollier this is such an underrated comment lol
+TehBrackShiip so what happens after Kanye doesn’t want Kim anymore?
@@hshiik1469 I don't see that happening anytime soon but since everyone is getting divorced these days, with America having one of the highest divorce rates, it probably could happen.
And now Travis Scott
I rewatched this movie on the plane a few days ago. I saw it in theatre when it first came out. This was one of the most powerful scenes.
