The scary thing is this movie reminded me of a gentleman I met once when I was a teen. There was an older gentleman I knew that had a similar injury/wound as those with brain transplants that would frequent the barbershop to get his hair cut. But his injury was more gruesome. He wore a wig to cover the top of his scalp which was partially missing or something: so you could see part of his brain. And he'd have to treat the wound constantly to prevent infection. The only way you'd know is if you were in the barbershop when he was getting a hair cut. And he would only get the sides cut. The barber thought I was mature enough, and that it was important enough, for me to see it. The gentleman reluctantly showed me and a few others. We were told that his injury was a severe reaction and treatment to an experiment he was involuntarily involved in decades ago that left him in such a state. That's when we began to have conversations about the Tuskegee experiment and other experiments involuntarily done to 'blacks' in the past. The barber thought it important for me and others to not only know that history but to know that it's not just history: there were still some of our people living with the consequences of such experiments. This was in the 90s in Detroit at Bob's barbershop on 7 Mile with Melvin the barber before he moved to Atlanta. Lost touch with Melvin but always wanted to say thank you to him for the free cuts for good report cards and such. I appreciate it

More people should do this. Leaving your art up for interpretation usually starts wars about 1000 years down the line when everybody wants to be right about their own interpretation
Easter Egg: Jordan Peele wore that shirt as it was part of the Gigue repertoire for when Jesse Owens won the olympics. That night while eating cereal as a victory session at the new restaurant Deer 237, they wore specific cotton blend shirts that represented that specific format but had a Hawaiian ukulele type of fonts all over them. Fun fact, there considered it a family affair. Hits blunt
He is actually doing great, he is either straight up accepting or straight up denying the fan theories. Which is good because most of directors/authors says it is on audience perspective and blah blah blah.and they want to float various theories around the world.
I think the movie is about the Bystander Effect. Chris is portrayed as someone who only watches. He's a professional photographer, sat watching TV as his mother died, and is faced with the possibility of watching someone else live their life in his body. It's finally at the end when he finally decides to take action.
I mean he have probably looked at RUclips comments before. It`s not always the most civilized placed where conversations happen. So as far as i am concerned i think he`s thought process is justified
John Qi That's not grammar, that's spelling. Grammar refers to sentence structure. Not whether or not words are accurately spelled. And its clearly a typo.
I get what they're saying but rich people always drive in black cars in movies...... It's not that crazy or random of a thing for Peele to have in the movie. I feel like that one is a stretch at best.
I saw this movie twice in theaters and have watched it several times since, but this video revealed some things I STILL hadn't caught yet! Jordan Peele is a genius, and this is one of the best movies ever.
I like this. I get art is open for interpretation and finding your own meaning and takeaways, and I get why an artist will do the whole "Its for me, its my meaning" and "its all for you to figure out" but it was refreshing and down to Earth to see an artist just say "Nah this is what I intended, this is what that meant". Also liked he found some ideas interesting and even if it wasn't what he meant was like "Yeah I get that"

Yeah and I still find it amazing how this dude, who created one of the spookiest movies I've seen, also created a video about two magical "negros" fighting. 😭😂
Platinum Pepe The movie isn't racist though. You're probably white so you are hurt that this is the second time white people lost in a movie. First time was in Django Unchained. Come on dude. Stop being such a loser and deal with it.
Pfitz He actually said somewhere that comedy is a lot like horror if done well because in both you are constantly setting things up to hopefully pay them off at the end
It’s amazing that one day he just started making really complex and thought provoking thriller/horror movies just out of nowhere. Didn’t know he had so much talent.
I also thought of something else. When Rose told Chris that her dad would probably tell him that President Obama is the best President of his lifetime and it’s going to suck. Yet she claimed she never dated a black man. That’s a very specific thing to say AND she knows it going to suck because she had to deal with her victim’s awkwardness in that moment for 8 years of his Presidency.

Ooh I got it to 3k
He said this right when i was reading this comment
Kezzie Akintola m.
The spot on theories and overanalyzed ones are both equally entertaining. There was one about Mace Windu having a purple saber - signifying the mix between light (blue) and dark (red) - but Sam Jackson just wanted a purple saber lol
Ya n they acc used that to describe it more since mace was a master of form 7 vapaad which uses the dark side n fury
More people should do this. Leaving your art up for interpretation usually starts wars about 1000 years down the line when everybody wants to be right about their own interpretation
I see what you did there
lmfaoo if you're talking about religion that was rlly smart
Economics drives wars, not religion. Don’t be silly
Now everyone is interpreting your comment on their own way
imagine being so naive to think religion has caused any wars and not economics XD

He is actually doing great, he is either straight up accepting or straight up denying the fan theories. Which is good because most of directors/authors says it is on audience perspective and blah blah blah.and they want to float various theories around the world.

That would be me if I were a director. I would make movies and accept cool theories about them on the fly like I actually meant them.
Not a direct quote.. But yes you heard that
the black mold thing and jordan realizing how good that was, then deciding to say it was on purpose LOL
I didnt get that can you explain?
"The gigue was up."
Peele: The power of marijuana.
I think the movie is about the Bystander Effect.
Chris is portrayed as someone who only watches. He's a professional photographer, sat watching TV as his mother died, and is faced with the possibility of watching someone else live their life in his body. It's finally at the end when he finally decides to take action.
IKMNification amazing
I dont think its about the movie as much as to do with the character Chris. He didnt act when his mother was dying, but later he decides to act.

Dana Flamenco ctfu my favorite part
I get what they're saying but rich people always drive in black cars in movies...... It's not that crazy or random of a thing for Peele to have in the movie. I feel like that one is a stretch at best.
@@Harleigh_19 No.
I saw this movie twice in theaters and have watched it several times since, but this video revealed some things I STILL hadn't caught yet! Jordan Peele is a genius, and this is one of the best movies ever.
I know right? I studied cinema and usually notice small details hidden in a movie but this video made me realise how much I missed.
Also liked he found some ideas interesting and even if it wasn't what he meant was like "Yeah I get that"
If he wanted the girl to be twisted, why didn't she just pour the milk first then the cereal

The Black Mold theory was actually amazing.
Jino John Joseph following that theory’s logic, shouldn’t they be White Molds since the bodies being discarded are white people’s?
re-watched the bit about the mold at 6:18. "black people's bodies are used as molds, a hollow shell for white people to use", makes sense now
When u just putting random lines in movie but it lead to great theory that u didn intend or thought of until u heard it

the reason you never caught it... is because it's not there. Did you not watch this video just now? He admits to not having thought of that lol
I wish more directors would do this because it makes you appreciate the movie so much more
i picked up on a few of these hints, like the no smoking and the grandpa running, but seeing so much more was put into it, wow what a great in depth movie. jordan is definitely one of the best screenplay writers of this generation
My theory is this is actually Jordan and Keegan's longest sketch. He's just such a good actor he's able to act like a good director/writer.
This is the most accurate theory, so accurate that this is actually the practical truth.
Yeah and I still find it amazing how this dude, who created one of the spookiest movies I've seen, also created a video about two magical "negros" fighting. 😭😂
i could listen to jordan peele explaining things for hours. he just says everything so calmly, and he’s such a brilliant guy.
Crazy that a comedian like Pele can go from comedy to a legitimately great horror/thriller director.
Charlie Brooker, the maker of 'Black Mirror,' was a comedian first too.
they say humor is the mind's way of escaping torment
Gram T Humor is a coping mechanism? Yeah how does that have to do with directing movies.
Platinum Pepe
The movie isn't racist though.
