One of THE most iconic horror movies and scene. Jordan is a genius and I love that he recently said Daniel is his “De Niro”. These two are a match made in horror heaven.
That is real horror. This movie gives you a real sense of dread: something we’ve never seen before. The idea that somebody can paralyze you and sink you into a black hole by simply TINKing a teacup is a disturbing new monster.
She has one of the most calm, relaxing voices ever. I almost get hypnotized by watching this. Very close to ASMR. If it wouldn’t be considered as such.
The way Walter sprinting, along with the music score, freaked me out when I saw this at the movie theaters in 2017. Chris's personal trauma sinkhole is way scary than I imagined. Jordan Peele is the master of saying "hell no to Therapy".
I have epilepsy and this is exactly what I feel like after taking a grand mal seizure, you can't move but you can see, you can hear but you can't talk. You feel like you have frozen still and only can blink and nothing else. A petite mal seizure feels like leading into this. Some times they wear off and you can snap out of it. you can move your arms and legs but have no feeling in them.
This scene didn’t freak me out when I first watched the movie until I started to wonder of why if Chris was uncomfortable, he continued to sit there… I didn’t know the cup did anything until the “sunken place” line. The film some jump scares, and some in your face horror so to speak, but most things are subtle… unnerving
And to think Jordan thought the script was terrible at points while writing. We can learn something from this in that the insecurities we have on ourselves may not reflect the thoughts of others

I wouldn't know what too much weed is like, cause this happens to me EVERY time I try to smoke weed. 😂 😮 its not as funny as it sounds when its happening to you. I used to try to describe it as 12hrs of being shrunk down n trapped inside my forehead, as if my forehead was plexiglass, I could see out, hear everything, but couldn't communicate with anyone else for about 12hrs. That's with just one hit. I pick up a contact high so easily, and I become violent and paranoid, its just not a good place for me.😢😢😮

I heard it's like Chris' mother. Chris in this scene explains that his mom had died in a hit and run. Meaning she got bumped by a car. The deer who ran of in rose' car reminds him of his mother. Deers also are like slaves running away from hunters and owners because these type of people will always exploit their bodies for their own gain and dominance, even through means of harm.
